I recommend doing the side quests as they ad a lot to the experience and story of the dlc. Just do them before you kill a certain bug looking boss as some quests become unavailable.
At some point facing Rellena for me got annoying, the consistent dodging and her chain attacks. It reached a point where I decide: “I am done running” I then proceed to force myself to use only a buckler parry shield, a knife with 140 critical value and other talismans used to boost critical hits. My gosh the difference in enjoyment of the fight was day and night.
Just to let you know, dancing lion and especially rellana are some of the most difficult bosses in the dlc solo I’d even say rellana is possibly 2nd or 3rd hardest in the dlc moveset wise for me at least and I’ve done 3 runs and no scadutree fragment run, my opinion stays the same so fair play for her being your first main boss
Ali: For once don’t get naked and hold a katana, that’s for pro only. Try get shield 100 physical negation normal armor and a katana or a poky stick. It work every boss. No two handed or naked katana. People keep dying without any protection

My gosh the difference in enjoyment of the fight was day and night.
I feel like she’s a fun fight, with any build, deflect hard tear, parry it’s all viable, but she is very very challenging
you can jump over half of her attacks and a lot of things can't hit you if you're by her side or behind.

also, your backhand blades l2 has I-frames, so it acts as a dodge, very abusable against npc enemies
