    I like the demo swings and giant because they show limited movement. That's the way a good giant is performed. I also teach the phase in term of loading and lightening the bar. This timing allows for superior changes and correct shaping. Thanks again!! Coach Wes

    Thé dish and arch, combined with the flexing of the horizontal bar provides pumping power, just as a child on a swing may do so by leaning back and changing the tuck if thé feet and pulling against the suspending ropes to assist with the leaning and tucking

    I've got a 9-year old just starting out Level 4 boy. He loves your vids! He's looking for tutorials on more basic skills, front and back tuck, back handspring, back and front levers, etc. Please consider some of these for your next tutorials. Thanks!

      I'm pleased to hear he likes the videos! I have tutorials for back tuck, front tuck and backhandspring on my personal youtube channel; a link to which can be found in the description of this video. I will be doing a back and front lever video in the near future, so keep an eye out! Thanks again

    Is it worth learning some flyaway backflip moves incase your hands slip off before attempting this?
    Also..do you need to regrip everytime you swing?

    • @theefactor1360
      @theefactor1360 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      bro ik this is 3 freakin years later but i'll reply anyway... i guess a fly away would be helpful in a way but tbh i don't think it would be too useful
      1: if its your first time than chances are you'll be trying it above foam or something so you woudnt get too badly hurt
      2: if you all of a sudden slipped i doubt that you would even be able to quickly do a good fly away so you'd probs actually get slightly more hurt lol.

    is gymnastic bar much different from standard street workout one?
    I'm doing 1/5th of the swing and have to fix my grip all the time.

    • @kevinle6895
      @kevinle6895 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Game Tips Ya gymnastic bars are bouncy so it kinda launches you. Its metal so its easier to grip with chalk.

    • @tommuller3110
      @tommuller3110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most importantly, it's grip is better than the metal bars outside. Also, the chalk sticks to the bar, so its way better. Plus, the chalk doesn't get washed off, outside it does

    Thanks for the video tutorials. Do you have any advice for level 6 MAG gymnast with perfecting a flyaway dismount from giants?

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are lots of drills and techniques associated with the backaway, more than I could give any detail to in a written comment unfortunately. I may make a tutorial on it at some point though - thanks for your comment!

    Can you teach us how to do this move on a standard bar? Like those use in street workout?

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The technique and progressions are pretty much the same, only additional thing to be aware of is having to 'shift' the wrists on top of the bar as you go over, whereas when you do it in gloves and loops your hands just slide around the bar with no effort as there is so little friction :)

  • @FolkMetalProject
    @FolkMetalProject 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    hey, what was that stuff at the end about chalk and metal and so forth?

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +FolkMetalProject I just said that once you can do it in gloves and loops you can move to doing it in handguards :)

    • @FolkMetalProject
      @FolkMetalProject 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      so is it quite hard to achieve / inadvisable to try bare handed?

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +FolkMetalProject It's do able but most people use handguards, less likely to rip and probably easier to hold on as well :)

  • @aliensoup2420
    @aliensoup2420 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I avoided high bar because I didn’t want to immediately turn my hands into hamburger meat. Just doing a few swings I could feel the friction heating up my hands. Giants look like fun, but I don’t know how anyone can ever use their hands again. It took years after quitting gymnastics for my hands to heal.

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, rips are fairly normal but it's all about building it up gradually over a long period of time so your skin can adapt without tearing!

    Please let me know what gloves you are using in the video and what type of gloves you recommend. I'm attempting to do Giants on a regular metal pull up bar that does not flex. I'd rather not have to use chalk.

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These were cotton gloves purchased from gymnasticsplanet.com, but gardening gloves do the trick!

      Thanks! The link address is wrong though. It must be gymnasticplanet.com (without s), otherwise it'll take you to DomainMarket.com

    I'm a girl gymnast and really like this vid! But can you also make more toutorials like kip cast connections to please, I'm having troubles with it, thank you

      Hi Maddie, I'm really pleased to hear that you liked this video! However I can't promise that I'll be making the tutorial you requested any time soon as it's quite a specific idea; I like to make my tutorials a little more general than that so there's a bit more to talk about, hope that makes sense. Make sure you subscribe if you haven't already though because I've got plenty of new content coming out soon :)

    What about front giants?

    • @vitriolic8155
      @vitriolic8155 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the technique different?

    • @learngymnasticsonline5341
      @learngymnasticsonline5341  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The technique is a little different - it's in undergrasp and the kick is the opposite so you arch slightly on the fall from the handstand then dish from the bottom, pull the shoulders over the top of the bar and 'press' back into handstand :)
