Love it, great way to learn together and pass on knowledge. Can’t wait to do this with my boy when old enough. Still a little too young but it will come. The only thing I struggle to understand is why go to all the trouble of getting a wet and dirty boat into the garage, to get it out again to clean and pressure wash. Anyhow no doubt you thought…. Why on earth didn’t we leave out!! Keep up the good work and following with my boy
Quick word of warning guys, in the spray rails and keel of those old shetlands there are steel pipes. When the salt water gets in, it swells and can cause cracking and failure of the hull on the spray rails. It looks like there is some evidence of rust in yours? If you get any rust coloured cracks on the spray rails outside it needs urgent attention. We almost sunk ours when we had it!
hi luke hope could i ask mate were you launch as i always launch from langston harbour and always fish the east side ov the island would like to fish the needles side ov the island this winter any info in were to launch would be grate its a long steam around from the east side is the slip a public slip mate thanks 👍
We always Lunch from calshot activity centre and travel down to the Needles you can also launch at Lymington both have grate slipways which can be used at most states of the tide.

I had a Shetland 535 about 20 years ago. Lovely little boats.
