I'm 77 and just found Beth and Joe from listing to ur channel wasn't a blues fan but now I can't get enough of Beth and Joe both together and separate, thanks for broding .my horizon love ur teactions
Beth didn't come from church. Her father was in jail by the time she was five, she suffers from severe bipolar disorder, and medicated herself for years with drugs and alcohol. Her sister died from AIDS when Beth was 22, and just starting to make it. She still battles her mental illness and has said she's "sick of psych wards". She's a warrior, a survivor, and a one of kind talent, and Joe is the perfect musical partner for her, IMO. Loved your reaction, I am with you all the way on the amazement, goosebumps, and chills!
Imagine that, a young (if I may be so bold) black man who is not a blues fan and me an old white man who is a huge fan of blues both enjoying this song together.
Did u know Bon-a-massa has 500 GUITARS & AMPS!?! The man is phenomenal. Beth is just perfect...perfect voice, perfect bod & sure made the rt choice in music! Whew!
I prefer Beth. Janis didn't paint a picture for me like Beth has. Also, I can hear every word Beth is singing. Whereas Janis has a mushier delivery. Also, Beth is a very seasoned singer and has such amazing control over each note. Etta James sang this song before Beth and it also is something you've gotta hear. Way different but so real and entertaining.
She didn't grow up in a church. She came from a family of women who were so beautiful men lined up to take care of them. Her mother was given a Mercedes on a first date. Beth Anne was not beautiful, but she could sing. No one looked after her. At fourteen she moved in with a boyfriend. Beth Anne was also very kind. She was a piano prodigy and recorded a back-up for my little girl's talent contest.
I think Beth hits different because she’s not just parroting the lyrics. She feels what she’s singing and it comes across. There’s so much passion and emotion. This woman has *survived* and it shows.
I love this performance. It is peerless. You mentioned how sweaty Beth is in this song. If you check out the DVD for this concert you'll see that this was song #20. Think about that. After 19 songs, she could still sing at this level, and this wasn't the last song, either. Beth is a phenomenon. (Just like Joe!)
She still hit that HUGE note pulling the mic away. That ALWAYS impresses me, evvery time I see it. They are phenomenal apart. But together....there's just no words. I'm GLAD Joe reached out and asked her to work with him. They bring out BETTER than the best in each other.
Blues and jazz are the only "true" American art form. Joe takes the blues to a new level while keeping the history intact. He is becoming a national treasure.
This song IS from another era...it was performed by the late Great Etta James...and Beth kills 8t just as she does ANY song she sings...she has been through HELL AND BACK to be where she is today...and that is a throne...for she is the UNDISPUTED QUEEN of the blues!!! No question!!!
I'M SO HAPPY YOU LIKE BETH AND JOE, I LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH!!! THERE IS JUST NOTHING TO COMPARE!!! GIVES ME CHILLS EVERYTIME I HEAR HER SING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH POLO,...ENJOY!!!! THE NEXT RECORDINGS YOU MAY WANT TO REACT TO ARE: TELL HER YOU BELONG TO ME...(or) CAUGHT OUT IN THE RAIN....
She and Jeff Beck did the Kennedy Honors to tribute Buddy Guy. It was epic. The company she kept. Obamas vibing along. Bonnie Raitt, Tracy Chapman. Led Zeppelin same night.
Great reaction, Polo. Trust me when I say that you need to see her performance of 'Am I the One' live at The Paradiso. It will leave you wondering if she is really even from this planet! LOL
Agreed. "Am I the One" live at the Paradiso is a must see. An incredible performance. I believe it took place after one of several stints in rehab and/or psych wards for serious drug addiction and mental illness, so Polo, you'll notice she looks a little different. Almost lost her; it's SO great to see how healthy she is now. PLEASE, trust everyone asking you to react to "Am I the One" live at the Paradiso - you'll never forget it.
Joe's band has the great Reese Wynans on keys. You saw him in some of your SRV videos. This song was done by the one and only Etta James and Beth is the only one IMO who can do it justice! Great reaction ❤
Beth is a goddess she can sing the phone book. She grew up in a shit household and it's amazing she had the strength and mental power to become one of best female vocalists.
Beth Hart ALWAYS gives it her all. She loves her fans, because they've stuck with her through her hard times, and her way of paying that back is giving them her all, and holding nothing back.
She's a giant force of positivity now. Definitely no start in church. If you want to find out about her past, she's been very open about it in interviews you can find on youtube. When I say rough times, I wish I could say I was being dramatic.
OMG! What a VOICE! She is magnificent! I've never heard of her before. I've listened to Bonamassa before and am aware of him as a phenomenal guitarist but the two of them together....wow. Where are my sox?
You are just scratching the surface of what this woman’s voice can do! She is truly the most gifted singer I’ve ever heard, and she was born to sing the blues. My next recommendations would be Caught Out In The Rain live at The Royal Albert Hall and Am I The One live at Paradiso!
She also did a different, still great interpretation of this with Jeff Beck at Kennedy Center Honors for Buddy Guy. Check her out singing "Am I the One" at the Paradiso and Joe Bonamassa in studio covering Deep Purple's "Lazy" with Jimmy Barnes on vocals. Red hot.
The performance with Jeff Beck in honor of Buddy Guy's receipt of Kennedy Center Honor was epic, absolute chills, beautiful. Truly showcased her soulful vocals.
Beth started singing in Hollywood clubs at 15 and has won 10 awards for singing the Blues. Joe started his career at the age of 14 when he opened for BB King both are very talented and this performance gives me chills EVERY TIME I hear it. Joe also sings you should look him up as well. This song is a cover the original was Etta James whom was so moving in her vocals but this was made for Beth to sing for sure.
I've been captivated by Beth since the 90's...she is definitely one of the most talented musicians EVER!! "'Caught Out in the Rain " live at The Royal Albert Hall (2018) is another AWESOME hit! Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and originality!!
When Beth wanted to start up playing concerts again, Joe I’ve read stepped up to the plate for her and did a few collaboration albums to help light the so much deserved fire in old and new fans, and his only stipulation was that she was clean, and he’d do all he could to bring back the shine in what we all know she dishes up when she takes the stage. I’m so glad knew of her greatness and wanted to help all he could, together they put a firestorm of magnificent gems back to life and before both his fans and hers. He respects her abilities without doubt and it was a great adventure they took together. They are both fabulous entertainers.
I loved Beth Anne. She was a gangly, brawny, wild girl without a bit of self consciousness. She would enter talent contests and an adult had to accompany her because she was too young to be there by herself. She never wanted to be a star. She just wanted to sing. She wanted to be appreciated. I try to follow her on TH-cam. Glad you like her, Polo.
Her two sisters and mother were spectacularly beautiful. One sister was married to a rock star. In Hollywood, where beauty is everywhere, they were standouts.@@kathleenmccrory9883
Love, love, love the comments here because these are real music LOVERS. Even some genres I never much cared for, every once in a while somebody here throws me a juicy bone. Always a huge Joe B fan but . . . to all those who mentioned Beth Hart "I'd Rather Go Blind" at Paradiso . . . My soul THANKS you. I'm fixing to clean up the dinner dishes, roll a fat one and have a memorable night on the back porch listening again. Maybe again. That took me to a place that I'd like to explore a little further. 💜💙💜💙
This is a cover of a song originally written by Billy Foster and recorded by Etta James way back in 1968. The cliches that you mentioned are part of it’s beauty to me. I get shivers and just a tiny bit teary-eyed listening to Beth Hart sing it because she sounds like she has just maybe lived it. I strongly (strongly!!) recommend that you listen to Am I the One Live at Paradiso; I promise you will not be disappointed.
Just think of all the great music/singer we would never hear if not for you tube, this old man is truly grateful to have lived long enough to feel these great musicians. Good reaction
Joe and Beth are definitely BLUES. Also, He got Stevie Ray Vaughan's keyboard player, Reese Wynans. His whole band is just amazing. More of this please. I love your reactions.
Check her out performing Leave the Light On or Caught Out In The Rain both live at Royal Albert Hall. Those were with her own band, not Joe, but both absolutely stunning. Joe is pretty epic solo also. Lots to dig into with both of these artists.
This was their last song of the night... the song before this one was "Nutbush City Limits" which is when she worked up a sweat... these 2 together are FIRE!💯
Would somebody singing, and it’s dead silence? That is nothing but captivation they are into the moment you can hear a pin drop, because they are paying attention to what she’s saying.
Every time Joe plays a solo he might as well have that guitar bronzed and put in a museum. If that is the only sound that ever comes out of that guitar again then it has done its job. That instrument has been thoroughly worked over. Just put it out to pasture.
This performance made me cry... The love of my life died 7 years back... And the power and passion in this woman's voice brought back the memories of her... my love lost... this is going in my playlist... thanx for the memories Polo... I appreciate you.
Etta James wouldn’t mind . She would be proud of Beth . A fabulous version and the guitarist is on par with her singing voice ( a friend of BB King) ( talented people from a different timeline) . Pain suffering and sadness combined with love talent and passion. I’m pleased a new generation is hearing of these songs .
Never heard this group before. Glad I listened. They are great. Love the blues. Etta James was awesome!!this was great. Will ck them out. Great guitar solo. ❤
Heard of her before but never actually heard her sing and OMG that was absolutely breath taking and heart breaking andmind blowing and I am definitely going to hear more. She is a force of nature! The band, Joe and all of them play like a dream, they work together so beautifully. The arrangement was wonderful, taking us down this powerful, emotional journey. Thank you for reviewing it. I enjoy your videos.
Man, some of those shows when Beth and Joe were touring Amsterdam were epic as well. Please react to "Am I The One" next. Beth channels Janis Joplin and Grace Slick; and maybe a half a dozen other greats as well:). You won't regret it. This is all great stuff!!
I love Beth and Joe. They know how to pick songs. I came across them only because i love Etta so much and this is her song. Joe is amazing, makes me think of the great BB King in the way he makes the guitar sing...phenomenal
Saw JB in London around 10 years ago and he was joined onstage by Beth for a couple of songs........she and he together were something else.....on another level.....they were so good that night.
I'm 77 and just found Beth and Joe from listing to ur channel wasn't a blues fan but now I can't get enough of Beth and Joe both together and separate, thanks for broding .my horizon love ur teactions
Best female blues singer alive today, My opinion. Peace ✌️
Beth didn't come from church. Her father was in jail by the time she was five, she suffers from severe bipolar disorder, and medicated herself for years with drugs and alcohol. She can't be white.....no no baby ......no no no.😅😮❤

I never miss Joe if he's near. Sadly i've never seen Beth.
Bonamassa opened for B.B. King at approximately twenty shows in 1989. He was aged 12 years old..
Joe Bonamassa is AMAZING !
Does anyone else think that Beth has the same raw energy as Janis Joplin? ❤
Absolutely the best blues singer I have ever heard!! Kudos Miss Beth Hart!!!!!!!!!
Goosebumps right from the first word she sings.
Beth and Joe are the greatest blues combo that I’ve ever seen and I’m 74 years old. Totally amazing.
I think Beth hits different because she’s not just parroting the lyrics. She feels what she’s singing and it comes across. There’s so much passion and emotion. This woman has *survived* and it shows.
So right on. She's so authentic.
That's not singing, That's Heaven telling a story.
She reminds me of Janis❤
Yeah but Janis cant hold a candle to Beth@@moniquesewell2670
For me, she is between Janis Joplin and Amy Whinehouse.
I love this performance. It is peerless. You mentioned how sweaty Beth is in this song. If you check out the DVD for this concert you'll see that this was song #20. Think about that. Absolute best cover of Etta James' song out there! Beth is just perfect!

Agree 🤩🤩

@karenfryberger4260 for sure a must see and hear.
A must!! Went to a later concert with her at Paradiso in Amsterdam. It was just as amazing as always!
“Caught out n the Rain” live Royal Albert Hall…best performance …imo
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it is done !!!!!😎
A live concert with Beth Hart at a small venue is a lifetime experince. She is very open about her struggles...and can make grown men cry.

Joe Bonamassa never disappoints. Best concert I’ve ever been to.
Beth Hart. . . “A Change is gonna’ come”!

Spoken like a true fan! Couldn't agree more. She's so amazing
Beth Hart's voice gives me chills. She is spectacular.
Powerful voice backed by living life. Her struggles make her real...

Top 10 songs of all time!! She has

Thanks so much Polo ❤️❤️
Her original song called Caught out in the Rain .Live at the Royall Albert Hall is so passionate and raw! Her voice goes so many directions

I've seen Beth live in Boston. She is amazing. Joe sings as well. You should check out his songs as well. Love seeing you experience Beth....
I missed this! Great song from way before her time. Beth and Joe just cant be beat. Love them. Thanks Polo

Goosebumps every time, anything from this album is GOLD.
So glad you listened to this one! I'm telling you, listen to Caught Out in The Rain by Beth.
Agree. Mind blowing.
Chills and tears!! Their chemistry, together, is fairly well unmatched!! ❤
What a powerful performance. She definitely belongs in a different era...so charismatic, so soulful 💜
👍Joe and Beth nr one 🤟
"She sings like she's from a completely different era." Absolutely brilliant observation.
POLO! Thank you for finally getting around to this masterpiece performance 😊
Captivating performance! Definitely a masterclass in emotive delivery
These two are both highly unrated artists!
....Joe played guitar with BB King when he was 12.... no surprise...lol...
You need to hear Beth Hart solo. A great performance to check out would be "Am I The One" live from Paradiso.
Yeah, Blues Rock. The two combined is otherworldly.
Listen to Soul shine and A change is gonna come❤

Another great Beth and Joe song. They are incredible.
😁👍
She’s in a class of her own
This was their last song of the night... the song before this one was "Nutbush City Limits" which is when she worked up a sweat... these 2 together are FIRE!💯
Tina Turner was also a beast like Beth
I love Beth and Joe!!!! GREAT video!!!
I've never heard these guys before, won't be my last either. Perfect live performance.
Love her do much. Have seen twice in concert. He is one of the Greatest guitarman
Would somebody singing, and it’s dead silence? That is nothing but captivation they are into the moment you can hear a pin drop, because they are paying attention to what she’s saying.
Beth alone, at the piano, I’ll leave a light on.
Great reaction to great artists

Sending a big hug and kiss your way! 🥰
Both Beth and Joe are giants on their own, but together they are truly something special. I've seen both, but I pray I can see them together.
You should also hear her in caught out in the rain. Awesome
Love your reaction. One of the best cover songs ever. And Beth & Joe are awesome
This song is an old blues song sang by the great Etta James
Etta James wouldn’t mind . She would be proud of Beth . A fabulous version and the guitarist is on par with her singing voice ( a friend of BB King) ( talented people from a different timeline) . Pain suffering and sadness combined with love talent and passion. I’m pleased a new generation is hearing of these songs .
My favorite best song though is you belong to me live at keeping the blues alive tour
It's gut wrenching.❤
Never heard this group before. Glad I listened. They are great. Love the blues. Etta James was awesome!!this was great. Will ck them out. Great guitar solo. ❤
Heard of her before but never actually heard her sing and OMG that was absolutely breath taking and heart breaking andmind blowing and I am definitely going to hear more. She is a force of nature! The band, Joe and all of them play like a dream, they work together so beautifully. The arrangement was wonderful, taking us down this powerful, emotional journey. Thank you for reviewing it. She also does a great rendition of the same song with Beck honoring Buddy at Kennedy Centre honors.
Somebody said it below--CHECK OUT Beth Hart, live at the Paradiso singing a song she wrote--"Am I the One." You won't believe it or ever forget it.
They are seriously magical together! ❤️
Joes solo in this is very “vocal”.
You could almost hear Beth singing something similar.
The wailing
the pain.
Beautiful
Agreed. I always describe this as a duet.
This just Knocked me Out! Wow
I met Janis Joplin who said she got every inflection from Etta James
Man, some of those shows when Beth and Joe were touring Amsterdam were epic as well. Please react to "Am I The One" next. Beth channels Janis Joplin and Grace Slick; and maybe a half a dozen other greats as well:). You won't regret it. This is all great stuff!!
She especially channels her idol, Etta James.
You need to listen to Strange Fruit from this same show in Amsterdam. Joe and Beth are amazing together.
Amazing. Thanks for introducing me to Beth and Joe.
Totally off the chart!!! thank you for this!!!!
Beth Hart - Am I The One Live At Paradiso....my friend, you have to do this. You will be moved. The greatest live performance ever !!!!
Brilliant music.
Yessss. “Change is gonna come” live from Echoplex and “Caught out in the rain” live from Royal Albert Hall ( I think).
The Great Etta James is smiling big time tonight!!
