I love the way this guy explains the game. In other Lets plays it's often two people who know the rules inside out doing what they do with little regard for the audience. This guy really explains what's going on. Helpful for no nothings like me.
More from the Lardies, please! Rich is just brilliant. The banter, explanation of the rules and just overall mood of the games in which he plays is amazing.
Always a pleasure to see Rich at BoW playing Chain of Command. I wish you guys would play a game of Big CoC, with one platoon of armour on each side. I don’t think anyone has done a video of Big CoC!
Another great "Lets Play" vid! Hey Big Rich finally won one of these games...good for him. This is tough scenario for the defender. I played it twice with mix results.
Richie is by far the best introducer/demonstrator to a war game of al those on OnTableTop and even beyond the SideBoard and KitchenCabinets. Did we ever find out what the collabator with zee red beret was up too?
Read the rules once and enjoyed this Video again - as the other CoC videos before. What an easy way to learn the rules! Thank you very much - please keep them coming!
The Panzer III served through the whole war as well, but the Pz.IV was the only german tank to see PRODUCTION throughout the entire war. Never stopped making them, and eventually started churning out Stugs built from Pz.IV hulls as well
Always love Chain of Command let's plays. Finally Rich put a stop to the Beastsofwar juggernaut. Hopefully next time Rich beats Justin. One thing though. And correct me of I am wrong. According to the rulebook a (mmg) team can only provide covering fire when activated by a leader (roll of 3 or 4) not by a roll of 1. Rich does this a couple of times. Maybe a Blitzkrieg special rule?
So this is how legends are born. Strange to think that you were a noob to CoC 5 years ago when you've been my primary inspiration for the last year as I've gotten into the game. Appreciate you Alex.
Brilliant demo game. Keep them coming - they are an inspiration. I did not understand why the British kept charging the Germans, and feel either standing their ground (forcing the Germans to attack) or even gradually pulling back (buying time) would have been a better strategy - but that French tank was amazing so, “Vive la France”
great report as always! i've never been a historical gamer myself but after reading about the rules and watching the games played i picked up a set of the rules!
cerealkiller195, welcome to the historical gaming world! Beware it’s addictive. Suddenly you may notice a paradox: unlike scifi/fantasy gaming, which is limited and closed, you enter into a world that is open and almost limitless in scope.
Spoilers: Richards first win! Well done sir. And is this going to be his winning comeback, would love to see a few more games of this and Sharp Practice and see if Rich continues his win streak. Also can the next battle be: SP - American Civil War or 7 Year War CoC - lets see some soviet on German action or maybe a after war Yank vs Soviet game.
Nice rules and figures! A lot of us like to write our own rules or mod others but Chain of Command comes closest to the type of mechanics I like. I like the early WW II period also. Tape measures handled like a conductor.
Not sure if the rules were being played correctly but if they were there is one thing that doesn’t seem right to me. It was where the MMG was firing suppression at the house forcing the defenders to keep their heads down reducing their ability to fire back. But the squad was also firing to kill on the suppressed team - in reality they would have nothing to shoot out as the target would be cowering out of sight.
The young guy was talked into setting up his machinegun in line of sight instead of the building to his left where he could have still shot the same squad he shot and would be out of direct fire from that panzer 4. The French tank could have set still and shot main gun and machinegun. then he could have brought in the first sgt to get the machinegun to fire again. He could have slaughters that squad hiding behind the building.
@Rich TFL, @John BOW, Guys please can you tell us who made the following; 1)The roads (I must buy them) 2) The buildings 3) Fences (wooden and stoned) Cheers lads, thanks. 👍
The roads are from Early War Miniatures and are flexible latex cobbled roads. The buildings were largely private commissions from a company called Rapier Miniatures. The fences and walls I grabbed off eBay. No idea who makes them.
@@toofatlardies @Rich Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it. Love your CoC and SP2 bat reps. With BOW, could you please do bat reps for; Charlie Don't Surf, I Ain't Been Shot Mum and Through Mud and Blood (WW1 skirmish rules)!!! Other people have been requesting as well and it would be a great opportunity to show case these rules through BOW, where the rules will get a bigger exposure, plus there aren't really any videos of them on YT! I've been meaning to buy the above three mentioned rules but there aren't any videos of them on YT or on the Too Fat Lardies web site! Thanks Rich, hope to hear on your response.
John: "I'm in this concrete garage with plenty of firepower out of the windows, I think I'll run out and charge that Panzer......."😁 To John's credit, it must be bloody difficult to direct the camera shots and think about tactics at the same time.
I got them at Historicon in the US. However, it was not commercially available. A friend got it printed in Wallmart who had a deal to print any image on a fleece material for ten bucks. It's a great mat.
Where are the miniatures from, because from all my searching it seem chain of command doesn't have it's own specific miniatures like bolt action, confused. Is it just a rules set and are there recommended miniatures to use?
The British and Germans are Crusader Miniatures, the R35 and Panzer IV are Warlord Games. Some of the older equipped Germans like the ones with the MG08/15and the MGO8 are WWI figures with WWII heads added and WWII kit from plastic Warlord Games figures.
I love the way this guy explains the game. In other Lets plays it's often two people who know the rules inside out doing what they do with little regard for the audience. This guy really explains what's going on. Helpful for no nothings like me.
Rich and Nick are two of the best in the business at running games and explaining to people of all levels
They have a few more lets plays on the Beast of war page and a few how to play videos on their own Toofatlardies youtube page.
More from the Lardies, please! Rich is just brilliant. The banter, explanation of the rules and just overall mood of the games in which he plays is amazing.
Easily the best WW2 game in production! Love these videos, love the explanations given by Rich and his referral to the rules. Keep them coming!
Good to see RIch roll good for once!
Always a pleasure to see Rich at BoW playing Chain of Command. I wish you guys would play a game of Big CoC, with one platoon of armour on each side. I don’t think anyone has done a video of Big CoC!
Maybe the next time I head across to the studio we will do just that. Good idea
Another great "Lets Play" vid! Hey Big Rich finally won one of these games...good for him. This is tough scenario for the defender. I played it twice with mix results.
Richard is the best. His games are outstanding and have great mechanical bits and great thematic parity, but Richard is even better.
Did they ever do a tour of all that awesome terrain on the shelves? Id love a closer look.
3minutes in and I'm already excited by the prospect of shenanigans with a German under cover agent in the mix

Nice! I just got done watching your other reports. Glad to see you guys still playing. Hope we see more in the future!
Outstanding game always a pleasure to see Richard do Chai of Command
Can't wait to play again. Whenever.

Great game as always. Chain of Command is a great rule set! More Please!
Amazing, I love chain of command. Great Report, thank you for doing this video
Where are the buildings from, they look great and have a great variety.
I just bought CoC at Salute last weekend, so this video is perfect to explain the rules for a noobie like me.
So this is how legends are born. Strange to think that you were a noob to CoC 5 years ago when you've been my primary inspiration for the last year as I've gotten into the game. Appreciate you Alex.

Love the figures. Amazing paint work.
Thank you Paul. They are actually nice figues to paint. Good clean detail. Which helps as I am a rubbish painter.
The gta kill cam absolutely got me 😂😂😂

A great report, need more CoC it is probably the best WW2 set of rules I've played.
Love seeing CoC being played! Keep them coming!
Nice rules and figures! A lot of us like to write our own rules or mod others but Chain of Command comes closest to the type of mechanics I like. I like the early WW II period also. Tape measures handled like a conductor.
Great to see another CoC video. Keep them coming!
good game, more please
Little French tank gets the VIP for this game.
Nice game table. What is the scale on the figurines???
I get the feeling that John might be better suited to commanding early Soviets, or Japanese.
Really good talk through everything models look amazing
Great game, enjoyed a different scenario in this game.
I love this keep it up
What size of models are you all using for CoC? At least in the videos you've been posting

"Pinch that off and block my passage". I wonder how many more joke phrases have been inserted to this video ;)

then ran the guys out into the tank instead of finishing off the germans fleeing the tank.
A bit too keen on the Banzai charges. Hardly the British way old chap.

Largely because I have the memory of an ant. I just forgot... Sorry
a cracking video
great game
John: "I'm in this concrete garage with plenty of firepower out of the windows, I think I'll run out and charge that Panzer......."😁 To John's credit, it must be bloody difficult to direct the camera shots and think about tactics at the same time.
Absolutely wonderful figures. Can you name the painter(s)?
Great battle report as usual! May I ask where is the terrain and mat from?
I got them at Historicon in the US. However, it was not commercially available. A friend got it printed in Wallmart who had a deal to print any image on a fleece material for ten bucks. It's a great mat.
"Block my passage"....... teehee
Those are great buildings? Who makes those?
good game
Love game figures lovely but I thought a roll of a 2 is a team not a squad like how rich plays to win
Where are the miniatures from, because from all my searching it seem chain of command doesn't have it's own specific miniatures like bolt action, confused. Is it just a rules set and are there recommended miniatures to use?
It’s just a rule set. I don’t know what they recommend or what these ones are though.
Matthew McGuire Any 25/28mm miniatures work.
Yes!!! CoC again!
My advice is to avoid attacking in close combat. Even with a slight advantage.
Which figures and tanks are you using here (manufacturer and range)?
The British and Germans are Crusader Miniatures, the R35 and Panzer IV are Warlord Games. Some of the older equipped Germans like the ones with the MG08/15and the MGO8 are WWI figures with WWII heads added and WWII kit from plastic Warlord Games figures.
@@toofatlardies That's great! Thank you. I'm looking to start a WWII collection at some point and they were nice looking figures.
@@Wayne_Peters The Crusader models are really very nice and they do a fair variety of poses which I like. Good luck with your collection
Can you play this with 6mm minis?
Yes. Figure scale agnostic.
I don't understand JOP placement.
The ATR team never went upstairs I believe.
They started upstairs!
I love me some lardies
No dice tower 😍
Thanks God!
HEEEY ITS RICH !! This is gonna be fun !!!
