Coulter didn't say she couldn't vote for Vivek because his family hadn't been part of American society for long enough she said she couldn't vote for him because he is Indian. Personally, I feel the expression "You're 1 of the good 1s" (or variations of it) is the most racist thing someone can say. It may not sound racist on the surface, but the deeper meaning of it basically is "You disprove my racist ideology or disprove a stereotype about a racial group, but I'm still going to believe it anyway since I only view you as an exception not a norm."

I think you're missing the point here. It's not about their parents being immigrants so the children are still immigrants. It's skin color. I'm a natural born American citizen as were my parents and their parents but I've still had people call me to my face a dark-skinned foreigner. She said that about him because of his skin color.
