They even have lots of small scale factories owned and operated by the locals and they even sell their chips straight out of the warehouse like Azhar Food and Salim Food. And don’t forget to get your hands on Nasi Ambeng, Mee Racun, Lontong Kering, Murtabak, Mee Bandung, Laksa Johor (made with spaghetti).
Go to Kelantan/Terengganu, plenty of traditional & modern kuih you can find right there...like you guys done before with Ken in Kota Bharu...but this time do with proper guide, maybe Issey Semutar Guide willing to help you what kind of kuih to choose... & also bring your parent would be interesting..especially at the Singgora place...

"Pulled tea" or teh tarik is actually a method of reducing the temperature of the tea from boiling (undrinkable) to hot but drinkable. Putting an ice cube dilutes the flavour of the tea whereas simply by "pulling" retains it. Sometimes evaporated milk (susu cair) is added (although in very small amounts) on top of the condensed milk (susu manis) for more foam (or taste?) therefore changes the taste a little bit but in general more well liked. It is pulled 2 to 3 times depending on length of pull and temperature of water but usually after 3 times of a long pull, the drink is no longer hot to most people's liking. That is why kopi tarik, milo tarik, nescafe tarik etc exist as well. Nowadays, "tarik" is more commercialized so you have cool/icy drinks with "tarik" on it and a distinct flavour associated with it.
Mamee monster always win with super ring beside But for more traditional snack it will go to keropok segera. 'Instant chip' of fish. Addicted!! Best brand n oldest one is cap pinggan.. Plate Brand 😂😂
I love Mamee Monster. There are many flavours available. But i don't put the seasoning because i don't like it. The dried noodles of Mamee Monster is yummy as it is.
Oh wow! That's interesting. This means if you eat a few packs without seasoning (and they're still yummy), then you can eat a pack with 3 or 4 seasons packs in it. I like this idea :)
@@JetLagWarriors Poor little Steve, scarred for life, I imagined you as the only kid eating raw spaghettis during lunch break. I remember some kids on the block used to skip lunch just to get back to the parking lot and play and they'd whip some fast food while their mom would call them back to eat real food and it was crazy: fat or salt on a slice of bread. I never understood them until now.
The tea pouring done for Tee Tarik is for aeration. It tastes better. Imagine fizzy drinks taste good and are yuck when they lose the fizz right. Similar with coffee like Cappuccino etc.

No no no the real authentic Malaysia snack are keropok keping and variery of kerepek like kerepek ubi, kerepek pisang, kerepek pedas and others yet really healthy food. That is the real one man...
Yup, keju is from the Portuguese word "Quejio". The Portuguese introduced cheese and butter when they conquered Malacca in 1511. They also introduced "Pão de Lô" or "Bolo" (Portuguese sponge cake) during that 130-year rule. Malays call it Bahulu. Another food that the Portuguese introduced was Kaya or egg jam. The difference is we use pandan instead of vanilla, as well as coconut milk. Another Portuguese sweet that has been part of our cuisine, as well as Thai is the "Fios de Ovos" or Jala Mas in Malay.
A lot of popular snacks in Malaysia are actually Australian. Milo as mentioned in the video, but also Twisties (yes it's a copy of Cheetos in the 1940s 10+ years after it was invented), Cheezels etc.

Nice. I like the content guys. For kuih, if I may suggest; karipap, kuih bingka ubi, kuih ketayap, kuih badak, serimuka, tepung pelita, goreng pisang, jemput pisang .These are just some you could try ( my favourites). I didn't mention onde -onde coz I see you have tried. Hope you have a great time trying all the different types of kuih. 👍🏻💞
Haw flakes is my favorite...did both of you try Sarawak kek lapis???they even have the haw flakes layer cakes and taste so good 😅😅😅😅 ...and you missing cheese ball 😅😅😅😅
u should try karipap and the little burger like kuihs but the fillings are cucumber and sambal but i dont know what its called u can also try 9 layer kuih which is rainbow colored and also a kuih which is sticky rice with fillings of shrimps and coated with leaves then burn by charcoals to cook it i thinks its called pulut panggang these are the more interesting ones and a lot of malaysian snack are not crunchy and salty and actually not all snacks have to be crunchy and salty to be good u just gotta get used to it
Try this: take a slice of white bread, spread a thin layer of condensed milk on it and then layer milo powder on it. You're welcome ❤ the best bread spread ever.
all snack are good. depend on your age and you have teeth or not. during my teen i eat more that cheezel and twisted curry. now 40s, that super ring is good. but if have prawn cracker and peanut, good for watch football or movie.
What a great experience trying our Malaysian snacks and drinks. Yeah, Super Rings is the best, our ex- Prime Minister's favourite. "Popo" is actually a Chinese word which means granny. Anyway, good review and most of those snacks are actually unhealthy food. Hahaha ...."Chrysanthemum" ... a long word and most people can't get the correct spelling of it 😂😅
22:28 That's the peculiarity of that snack. Nothing outstanding about it but when you eat 1 piece, you'll be grabbing another one, searching for the taste that hits your spot but it crumbles away when you almost found it. That 's how you find yourself in a loop and before you know it 2 rolls are gone already. Interesting fact about this snack is most of us Malaysians don't even know what that snack is made from. All we know is it's halal and it's a childhood snack. I just found out from your video that it's made from hawthorn.
the word kueh originaly came from Chenese word. I hope there is a Chinese person can explain what it means. Because the word kway teow is also related to it.
Hi sweets . Tell me one thing , Steve . Why so you think will be so marvelous live by the beach hating sea food ??? Big kisses to you both 😘 PS : the drink you became fan is made with lacto bacilae , and it promotes the health of the stomach flora . So kinda really interesting drink for you that has a soft stomach . It comes small coz if you drink it too much the effect will be diarrea . take one a day and wil have heath stomach . we have those in Brazil . The most famous brand here is Yacult .
Actually cheezle is the first that launch the product second came super ring either of this company didn't fake each other cheezle more older generation snack when i was young in 80s super ring is more toward younger generation that my young sister like it the different is one salty one is sweet, n mamee when first time they launch it can be boil it or eat it on the spot, now days younger generation like to it on the spot, but if u want to cook it also can only old generation cook but nowdays it rare to see the mamee use for cook only mamee noodles products were use for cook😊

The funny thing is many Malaysians eat milo powder as it is too..but not too much as they say it will cause constipation
I remember iron-pressing a 3-in-1 pack of Milo to get basically what Milo Nugget is before it was a thing.
@@anasazmi8554 i believe its a hostel student things

Oh, ok! I guessed it was the same, because I grew up eating dry noodles (that were supposed to be cooked)
"wooooooohh~" 😅😂😅😂😅
Good content, as always
Glad you enjoyed it! And welcome to the JetFam, new member :)
I love Super Ring & Twisties
Try this: take a slice of white bread, spread a thin layer of condensed milk on it and then layer milo powder on it. You're welcome ❤ the best bread spread ever.
kuih to try while in JB.. Putu piring larkin
I think the more accurate word for Malaysian 'kuih' is sweets or desserts. Please do enjoy more of them if you got the chance.
awesome view behind 👍🏾👍🏾
:) Yeah! That's why we wanted to film this on our balcony
this is what u are missing ask any malaysian they surely know apollo chocolate wafer cream and choki choki
The mamee snack you can cook like a noodle very sedap with the soup
In my family, we just call the Popo fish muruku "Keropok Baby" which just means baby snacks
if you deep fry the Dahfa fish, it tastes like fried anchovies.
Really honest snack reviews 😂
Great contents ❤
Seeing steve face trying something fishy..Epic 🤣🤣
Put 1 super ring on each finger...❤
I would say cheezels the original... super rings are the knock off...
all snack are good. depend on your age and you have teeth or not. during my teen i eat more that cheezel and twisted curry. now 40s, that super ring is good. but if have prawn cracker and peanut, good for watch football or movie.
Os Malayo também tem Yakult hahahahaha (that "yogurt" it's actually fermented milk)
Green pea snack, very similar to a Trader Joe’s green pea snack 🎉
U shld try kacang putih
Variety of peanuts
What a great experience trying our Malaysian snacks and drinks. Yeah, Super Rings is the best, our ex- Prime Minister's favourite. "Popo" is actually a Chinese word which means granny. Anyway, good review and most of those snacks are actually unhealthy food. Hahaha ...."Chrysanthemum" ... a long word and most people can't get the correct spelling of it 😂😅
Kaya kuih, bengkang, rempah udang and cucur badak.
Nice video..
POPO so classic..😂
the word kueh originaly came from Chenese word. I hope there is a Chinese person can explain what it means. Because the word kway teow is also related to it.
The DahFa fish snack are basically fish jerkies hahaha, so if you like fish you'll like it, if you hate fish you'd probs hate it haha
My favourite is Super Ring!!!!!
Try kacang putih
It’s mean variety of peanuts
Hi sweets . Tell me one thing , Steve . Why so you think will be so marvelous live by the beach hating sea food ??? Big kisses to you both 😘 PS : the drink you became fan is made with lacto bacilae , and it promotes the health of the stomach flora . It comes small coz if you drink it too much the effect will be diarrea . take one a day and wil have heath stomach . we have those in Brazil . The most famous brand here is Yacult .
LOL! Good one Carla... I enjoy the sea, but not for eating LOL. I'll take a burger on the beach any day hahaha
You guys gotta buy the big carton of chrysanthemum tea and chill it. Pop it out on a hot day and it'll put a big smile on your face 😊
All is my favourite except the pop corn snacks
kuih can be various of things, even curry puffs and donut is considered kuih. Cake aren't kuih tho.
Oriental Green Pea, Durian Popcorn & Popo Muruku Ikan for me
