Man this game is not running at native 4K in PS5. This game uses dynamic resolution with the resolution fluctuating between 1296p to 1512p it is quite far of native 4K resolution. Is more near to 1440P resolution than native 4K and the implementation of ray tracing of metro exodus enhanced edition in PS5 is very poor, doesn't even have ray traced reflections. The ray traced reflections is only available in the PC version.
I know, it's clear the difference, the same happens with many games on ps5, if not all the games.. they are not at native 4k and definitely not at 60fps, I would say it looks more like 50 fps
I've played both PC (RTX) and console version and the PC version seems to jump into stylized lighting territory when used at high settings so its not very "realistic" but that's the very process of making something "cinematic" by creating the illusion that its real. This means its likely immature use of Ray Tracing but still used to give NVIDIA an edge on the marketing front. Higher quality HDRIs could have rendered the same result in most scenes in this game. This game was developed on a older Engine so i highly doubt it even supports RDNA 2 so the stream processors are used traditionally (DXR) and render similar results as CUDA so this is not a very good reference to see what the PS5 custom RDNA 2 can truly do.
I feel by now developers should be able to get the mouth movements right when a character speaks, it would be a big step to realism. I know mouth has 1500000000 muscles or something but not having this right will always make characters look like fake puppets.
I keep watching these videos on this game and I don't see why you all are praising it so much, the Metro games play like a typical shooter to me, and I get tired of the constant freezing dreary weather, which is why I never go far in these games. They're not bad, just nothing special.
You can start with any of them. But I recommend playing Exodus first just because it has the best graphics. Metro games are very tough to understand but once you do...they are addictive.
Why would graphics be why you'd want start game series by? Just play them in release order if you are going to play them anyway. The story is a continuation, while relatively independent, Exodus still has spoilers to the previous games.
Game is a buggy glitchy mess. Want to do a silent takedown? Prepare to have 10% of your inputs to not work and break your stealth (compared to mgs5 or the new hitman's, their inputs are flawless and smooth as butter. Every character has a generic fake sounding Russian accent and the writing is very derivative and vanilla. Gameplay is stiff overall. That being said, this game does have a very nice atmosphere / immersion factor and nice animations. Then some annoying NPC comes in and ruins the immersion. This game is like an attractive travel brochure, hotel looks great, but then you show up to the hotel and the place is a dump.
This game is just like COD, boring, poor game engine, not much to do or explore, enemies flying like they are basketballs, poor resistance and AI, you shoot a guy with 30 bullets and the blood is all over you..but the guys clothes is clean and no trace of any bullets. The enemies get stuck in things like the guy lying in the fridge like he has transformed to a ghost... Don't say that this game is amazing because it's not.

Open world is the biggest enemy for gaming.

You are playing wrong if you run out of ammo, this game is about SURVIVAL and CONSERVING AMMO. You cannot be trigger happy.

I bought the double pack on PS4 and have not yet played. I plan on playing them both and buying this version.

This game has nice atmosphere but its far far from being anywhere near as good as HL. Deff not recommended at full price at the very least.
