Ibushi is a fascinating one, not just for his intriguing use of dragon energy to rend the wind or his bizarre physiology, but in that he actually has purpose to his destructive tendencies. Most elder dragons only do so by the simple scale of their power or in defense of themselves, but he is actually putting the effort into razing the land and pretty much killing everything in any zone he calls his turf. In line with his queen, we understand why he's doing it. The safest paradise is the one where anyone who could have messed with you is dead :O
And if we follow Josh and cotton’s end logic of his “queen” being a mate, a razed land would be perfect for raising young. Nothing to hurt the baby...granted a baby ibushi would still prob be T3 level of powerful...I mean, xeno was a baby to after all and look at his strength. . .
@@brandonbeck6730 That makes sense to me. A razed land with no potential predators is a great spot to have babies, not to mention lots of corpses for the young to eat. I think Ibushi and Narwa take the time to guard their young until they can fend for themselves. The main threat to them would be something like Nergigante, who loves hunting vulnerable dragons, but it wouldn't be able to get past the adults working together.
@@ES-dp6tw another major threat to any of their offspring would be other airborne, high-power and highly territorial Elder dragons, the likes of Amatsu, Valstrax, Velkhana, Fatalis, Shantien or Safi. Especially creatures like Amatsu would be a problem, as the climate it creates really isn't suited for creatures relying on floatation.
@@draochvar9646 You'd say that, but look at how Ibushi literally created updrafts strong enough to send a person flying CASUALLY, completely wiped out an enormous area completely with a single Dragon blast, which also RIPPED A HOLE THROUGH THE CLOUDS and the resulting turbulence that Ibushi caused from said blast, and it didn't even have a problem with that! Pretty sure it's got no issue floating through the air despite how much turbulence there is.

I did this quest with a random literally a few hours ago and we were this close to losing to Ibushi, but then Proof of a Hero started playing and god damn both me and my partner must've been inspired by it because we went into absolute beast mode

The joycons don't have any of these issues. A few guys that got into speedrunning with me recommended to just get an adapter and use xbox or playstation controllers. Probably gonna do that in a few updates.

Out of all the Rampage exclusive Monsters Ibushi is the one I want an actual hunt the most with. No gate to worry about, no Siege weapons, just me and him in a battle to the death!
Ibushi just like the Apexes are pretty close to a regular hunt though. You don't need to use the siege equipment at all and they don't often attack the gate when you are in the zone. The numbers are a lot bigger because of the gong but it's essentially just a normal hunt with bigger numbers.
And sea dragons, and blue dragon nudibranchs, and mosasaurus (compare the skeletons), and snakes, and moray eels, and Fujin (the Japanese god of wind, brother to Raijin the thunder god).
Found it especially cool that the Stronghold changes to be in the middle of a windstorm during his special Rampage. Ibushi has a really delightfully exotic design. Feels weirdly playful, too in the way he always seems to prefer floating upside-down. Kind of reminds of Nakarkos in how truly *weird* he is, and how he lights up with Dragon power when he gets mad.
I love to see if The Queen and Ibushi had like a attack that Teostra and Lunastra had, that bond attack they had in world that would be awesome if they ever reunited.

Can we also take a moment to appreciate that it was possessed Hinoa who gave the film narration instead of the usual male narrator. When Proof of a Hero started playing I knew that this was going to be one of my favorite fights in the series.
In todays episode "Turtle Staff and Red Eyed Angry Lady and Fluffy Pink Man fight the Gorgeous Wind Dragon" Okay jokes aside tho I love Ibushi and I think his become one of my favourite Elder Dragons. I love his design,his colours,his roar,the fight and his theme.....God his theme sky rocketed into being one of my favourites and even rivals Valstrax's legendary theme. Like in general I love all of Rises themes but Ibushi's is just......So good. Like it feels grand and magestic yet also tragic and sad and Hinoa singing is just the chery on the cake of what is a spectacular experience. Also I know that because Hinoa is able to pick up on Ibushis emotions and thoughts she may be using words that best fit them but the impications that this elder dragon uses words similar to "queen","incarnate""heaven" kinda to me at least implies just how smart and difrent Elder Dragons are. Couple with the fact that Eastern Dragons are seen as devine creatures that are also asosiated with rain,water,lighting,storms and wind it fits with him.

I don't care how easy Ibushi is, I absolutely loved that fight, the cutscene was fantastic, and that theme is absolutely incredible! ...And that's not just because I got an orb from a "body" carve on my very first run...or all the other orbs he's thrown at me during the 10 runs I did to get that scroll for my wall.

i just got back from Ibushi's rampage quest... I *LOVE* THAT WIND SERPENT!!! easily in my top 5!! that blue energy blast se spits from his mouth, the dragon infused projectiles he fires from his mouth and tail, the gusts of wind! just... PERFECT! now to craft his SnS.
Ibushi moves like mammalian sea creatures, i learned this from going to the aquarium recently. Sea lions otters and the like often swim upside down, and here is Ibushi swimming through the air as if it was water.
Wind Serpent Ibushi be like: Doing the corkscrew tackle: "PSYCHO CRUSHER" Using the energy beam @ 15:09 : "SHINKU HADOKEN!!" Using the rocks: "I HAVE ENTERED THE AVATAR STATE!" When the guys repel him: "I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THIS! I'M GOING HOME!"
On twitter I was looking some information about the title update and I found something it won't let me post it on here though. This is where I found it. Go on twitter go search capcom press on capcom Europe and near the top it has information on MH RISE title update. Or it just might be something else. I don't know 100% just check it out though.
Gotta agree that Wind Serpent Ibushi's rampage quest sort of comes out of nowhere, but despite all the chaos I managed to repel it with about 30s left on the timer (he drops several pieces from his back if you do, and your journal counts it as a "hunted"). Also, apparently the gate indicator (if you have it enabled) goes to red -- don't let it get to red.

I think that might be the best monster intro song you have done so far, the uncanny delivery really fits Ibushi.
I think the most important take away for this episode is that Josh plays Rise using Joy-Cons instead of a Pro Controller.

Ibushi's armour is a dang crime. the random skills and lack of deco slots makes such a cool armour useless.
I hope it's a Nekarkos kind of deal, where since it's a repel and not a slay we don't get the max possible output of the armor and a better version is makable after a real slay later on
I don't care how easy Ibushi is, I absolutely loved that fight, the cutscene was fantastic, and that theme is absolutely incredible!
...And that's not just because I got an orb from a "body" carve on my very first run...or all the other orbs he's thrown at me during the 10 runs I did to get that scroll for my wall.
Definetly a great fight and a great dragon, the new 'proof of a hero' just is the cherry on top

Ibushi is incredibly intimidating, considering how it's materials' descriptions have led me to the conclusion that he is actually made entirely out of balloons.

Ibushi moves like mammalian sea creatures, i learned this from going to the aquarium recently. Sea lions otters and the like often swim upside down, and here is Ibushi swimming through the air as if it was water.
In Bushi is so awesome it might be one of my most top elder dragons on my list

This is where I found it. Go on twitter go search capcom press on capcom Europe and near the top it has information on MH RISE title update. Or it just might be something else.

Gotta agree that Wind Serpent Ibushi's rampage quest sort of comes out of nowhere, but despite all the chaos I managed to repel it with about 30s left on the timer (he drops several pieces from his back if you do, and your journal counts it as a "hunted").
Also, apparently the gate indicator (if you have it enabled) goes to red -- don't let it get to red.
When i got to this rampage the wind serpent was the coolest fight i had ever seen in all of Monster Hunter
