Totem Element Fire V2 is a bookshelf speaker that with a good sub comes in right around your price range. Would a Van Alstine integrated at 55 watts at 8 ohms be sufficient to drive the Bison bookshelves? Seems to be that users state Totems require amps with high current capability. How much performance would be lost with a highly regarded but relatively lower power amp? Listen at low to moderate levels in an apartment situation, so no loud music. My understanding the Bison sounds good at lower SPLs too even without a sub.
Hello NC, Bison Monitor is an 8 ohm speaker, so not a difficult load. At 87 dB it's middle of the road in efficiency, but as you're in an apartment you should be fine. Adding a subwoofer later is an option too. Enjoy!

@@GramophoneMD the bass was certainly better on the twins but the integration between the drivers was seemless on the smaller towers, the midrange more palpable. Could just be my room and gear, I was ready to spend a little more on the twins but just couldn't get them to sound as nice as the smaller towers.
Use better lighting for the closer shots. You talk about the speakers and that well and good. LIGHTING. Felt like I was watching the opening scene from the God Father. I love Totem to a fault. You need to think these videos through. Specs!!!and why they may be better than say the Totem Forest . Using the single driver by Hi vi

I preferred the regular tower over these
Hello Bucket, interesting - both speakers are very good, but in most rooms the Twin seems to have the edge, especially on the bottom end
