    I've found just have a picture in my target as the last thing I see before hitting the ball has massively improved all my shots, driver, iron, wedge, putter. The visualisation makes everything quiet and the stronger it is the better the shot

    Shawn focusing on sending the tee cartwheeling or sending grass clippings also tends to make one either tip of tee bound or grass bound. How to marry everything.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      DO NOT MAKE SURE TO HIT THE GRASS OR TEE, PREDICT that the tee or grass is in the way of momentum releasing into the direction of flight!

    Hello Shawn
    I used to come see you in Richmond Hill, you saved me from quitting golf lol. I recently had surgery and was so frustrated with my golf swing I was about to quit again. Started re watching your videos and I got our old swing back (7 handicap). Today got my first hole in one, was about to swing the club but realized I didn't have my intermediate point, backed off, heard you saying IP, and then swung towards the target, ten feet past the hole then sucked back into the hole. Thank you
    Ryan

      I will take a starbucks gift certificate! 😀👍👊💪
      A
      Same here, my holes in one came when I started using IPs and working the ball into my targets; 2 holes in one, one lefty and one righty and 3 Albatros! Every round I play, still get career benchmark shots! CONGRATS ON DOUBLING DOWN ON IP!! And anytime you need some help, our online program is rocking! We are going on 4 years now and still have students from year one developing and one just won his club championship by a whopping 10 shots at a very prominent club!

    _HOLY CRAP!!!_ In 14 minutes you have just explained, demonstrated and solved that age old question……”Why can’t my golf swing look like my practice swing when I hit the ball!”…..Who are you, mate? 😮😮

    Driver, I think ‘hit a nice topspin running lob’ (tennis) although I’m right handed :-) Result: a nice draw. If I want to fade: I hit a forehand down the line. Why? I think believe because 45 years ago, I played tennis at national level; and I don’t even play tennis anymore.

      Very good! Many deep parallels between tennis and golf!

    What is the darts study you reference?
    By the way, your conceptual sticking point throughout your videos about natural throwing vs body-micromanaging has totally transformed golf for me and made it fun again. Thank you.

    Hi, Shawn. Great video! Quick question if you don't mind. If I'm just out in the yard clipping the top of the tee while trying to have it tumble to the left of my intermediate point, and it ends up tumbling to the right, does that indicate that my path is incorrect, face angle, or both? Or what information can I derive from that about my swing? Thanks!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Could be just that you hit it on the toe or it snagged the ground; use those long rubber tees, they tumble better!😀👍

    When you fade the ball Shawn, with intermediate point and left of for a right hander do I still start with the strong grip. If so how the heck does it fade without a huge hook!!!! I am lost on this one. Help!!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dustin Johnson has a strong grip and he bows the wrist a ton at the top; but plays a big power fade; same with Ryan Fox who has a massively strong grip! What matters is when you deliver into the direction you want to start the ball, that the ball does in the air what you want it to. So if you deliver through the ball with peak speed well past the ball (see our premium channel for much more) and the ball hooks, then the grip and club face relationship is too closed. It can be too closed yes, but THE VAST MAJORITY OF GOLFERS have it too open.

    Hi Shawn, In regards to the dart study, could I assume that the same principles would apply to putting? Would I theoretically become a better putter by simply hitting putts over and over focusing exclusively on the hole while not concerning myself with stroke, face control etc.?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, absolutely!

    Anyone else have their last thought about their backswing as the club is striking the ball? It definitely results in a poor shot.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Easy to get lost in the backswing…
      It is the focus on a nice whip to target with ease and momentum that fixes the backswing!
