WWZ Aftermath Extreme Support Medic Gameplay with Pubs - Jerusalem, Moscow & Tokyo

Extreme Medic gameplay testing out the new perks! This was streamed live on Twitch so the gameplay may not be optimal, but I think it gives a good idea of how a support Medic is generally played in a squad and how the new perk works. We found these 2 players on a public lobby who stuck around so we played through Jerusalem to Tokyo.
Medic has always been one of my favourite classes to play, especially as a support to try and keep everyone alive as long as possible. It can be challenging at times to try and save everyone with limited supplies, but that is why it is fun to play as a medic!

*COMPARING NEW PERKS & BUILDS*
The only viable new perks are in Column 1, 2, and 5.

*Candy*
One of the best new perks that gives you an equipment back with revive - either manually or using stims. Previously I use "Pick Me Up" which gives temp health to both parties but the temp health you get may be wasted since you might not be taking any aggro. Now you both get a supply with the revive and having an additional stim in your pocket is always good.
*Healing Gas vs Instant Stim*
Healing gas requires cooperation between teammates, they need to stay in the gas or run towards one to get the temp health. The blue cloud also blocks your vision which can be annoying. However, it does provide the whole team with temp health before or during a defence with just a single stim, and this can stack up to 100% temp health with 2 gas clouds. An example of utilising the gas cloud properly is to self-stim to leave a gas cloud that provides temp health to nearby teammates taking aggro while you use the masking duration to go for objectives, save an NPC, or kill screamer. Instant Stim allows teammates to reposition immediately instead of having to stay around the cloud for temp health. Also, can be used to absorb damage from nearby exploding bombers which deals damage instantly. Instant stims are much easier to use and is recommended for pub games.
*Combat Medic vs They Don't Need It At All*
Combat Medic spawns a medkit whereas the new perk can spawn any medical equipment (medkit, bandage, adrenaline). Combat Medic guarantees a medkit spawn during horde which is useful if a teammate gets low, whereas the new perk may spawn an adrenaline which doesn't help if the teammate has already went down once. However, Combat Medic replaces the medical accessory that you are holding - though it is quite rare for Medic to be holding bandages or adrenaline. The new perk spawns the medical item on the special's body, so it may be out of bounds - but otherwise it works well in between defences to rack up medical items for the whole team. This really depends on your preference, but I am slightly inclined towards combat medic at this point.
*GAMEPLAY TIPS*
1) A good rule of thumb - you should be stimming your teammates more than you stim yourself.
2) Try to heal someone else since you get some health back (instead of healing yourself).
3) Medic should have priority to bags, but also let others have them when you have enough stims.
4) Look around the map to see how many supply bags you have to work with.
5) DPS classes should have gun priority. SMG works well for medic class with the lobotomy perk.
6) Kill count is not that important. Don't take all the heavies and spam it into the horde unnecessarily.
7) Focus on covering the flanks while looking after the team.
8) Stimming someone masks them and causes the zekes to find another target. So sometimes you will need to chain stim to prevent another teammate from getting swarmed. Another alternative is to stand between yourself and the other team members to get the aggro - basically using this to control the horde and let them come to you.
9) On extreme you can't see the teammates outline, one trick is to hold the stim button which shows you where they are. This helps you to keep track of the team and stim them when necessary. Use melee or switch weapons to cancel the stim.
As a support medic, don't rush forward. Stay in the back so that you have eyes on your teammates. If you can't see them, you can't stim them. Medics should always get priority on supply bags, especially the first bag - so that if someone goes loud, at least you have stims to support the team. Along the way, you will normally find supplies, if you are full, tag them and see if anyone wants them. If not, stim your team for the health boost (no harm in that) as sometimes players can get hit by strays, friendly-fired, or get lurked along the way.
Once you reach a defence section, look out for supply bag spawns to get an idea on how many stims you get to work with (and hope that your teammates don't take it). Always give other damage classes like gunslinger, hellraiser, and exterminator gun priority since they can deal more damage and kill zekes faster. Stand behind your team so you can see them to stim them when they are going to get swarmed. Focus on covering flanks so your team can focus on clearing the hordes. Being a support medic, your role is to SUPPORT the team and not to get the highest kill count in the game.
With a tier 1 or 2 SMG + lobotomy perk allows me to handle incoming zekes easily with headshots while providing some ammo return and I don't need to reload as often. When you stim your teammates, the zekes surrounding them will naturally come to you or other members in the vicinity. So, you can use stims to control where the zeke goes to, and what I try to do is to let them come to me. By positioning yourself properly and prevent getting flanked, you will roughly know where the zekes are coming from and you can pick them off easily with headshots.
It is always easy to stim yourself and survive throughout the game alone, but that makes it harder for everyone else because they are the ones that get swarmed when you mask yourself and run. There is no point in that if you want to play with others in public lobbies. If that is your playstyle, I would recommend playing solo offline instead. It is also not always possible to keep everyone alive when you only got 4 stims and limited bags. The goal of the game is to clear the objectives and win the game. So sometimes you will have to prioritise who to save in order to do that.

Thank you, and I'm glad it helps. 😄 Just to add on, sometimes there are decent alternatives in the same column as well which may be more suited to your playstyle or different scenarios. For example in column 6, pick pocket works better in maps with big hordes since it also has a lower cooldown of 20 seconds.

You seem to be a fan of the ratpack dlc. Are you fan of the hot wheels weapons skins that got released last.
the LoS break with the gas is pretty nasty

Actually not a very big of the ratpack, I was trying to setup different skins for all my guns. I probably prefer the panda T1 SMG more. Don't really like the new skin pack, not a fan of the colour combi or the texture. Among the skins, I think the Raven and Neon pack stands out more. How bout you?
Yeah the gas can be pretty annoying and they should probably make it a little bit more translucent since it can be spammed more than Fixer's gas.

​​@@xD3viLz I feel the same about the latest dlc, Just from previous gameplay of you using the Goncho Mark II, it always has the ratpack skin, just noticing. Same as you, I also looked to see if each weapon had an iconic skin, and some are in dire need.
The glow in the dark/neon/vaporwave skins were really cool, especially using them during the dark catacombs dark sequence. Ontop of using the flame grenade launcher for light, I use the pumpkin trinket and those dlc skins. I really hope this burning skulls dlc ties the sniper and goncho skin together.
