We love these projects at the Old Japanese Farmhouse. This one adds a lot of character to the bamboo stand besides holding them in. I would be rather concerned about the proximity to the power lines. Hard to tell how close they are on the video. Here we sometimes have strong winds and the tress shorted the two 120v lines together and fed 240v in what was supposed at a 120v line and burned out several appliances. Up the street some a three caught on fire when the power lines hit the trees. Needless to say, these tress are now substantially cut back.

You might want to try copper bars around the bamboo.
It been known to stop tree roots.
