Being controlling and uncomfortably possesive was one thing, but also being a tsundere? This FMC's a disaster. Yikes. Their promises made Shoko becomes intensely possessive towards Taisuke that he can't communicate nor having a girlfriend with another woman. And when he tries to cut-ties with her, she went in attack mode that she looks like a predator that attacks the prey. And she said to him that she loves him and sees him as a man, not a childhood friend. And she DOENS'T mind to take bath with him and touches their "parts" with bare hands.
Well at least she apologized to him on what she did to him in the past by making fun of him and being overprotective towards him. Because he's not into that kind if thing which is why he doesn't see her in a romantic way that he would be devastated on her doings to the point that he REALLY MIGHT cut-off ties with her for good. If she didn't apologize to him sincerely, then this will be end of their friendship and he'll left her because of her selfishness.
I feel that this story needs a true arc of redemption for her, cuz leave that process to the imagination its really a shit when the entire story she was just obnoxious and unbearable

Controlling, super clingy, possessive, and tsundere. Taisuke sure had it rough trying to deal with Shoko, but props to him for being able to rein her worst parts in and become a couple with her. Not sure if that was a good idea, but considering Shoko's "interesting" personality, I'd say this was really his only option that wouldn't lead to broken bones. But hey, at least his parents will have grandkids, at the cost of their son's independence.

This made me remember one of the most annoying childhood friend scenarios. (It's an Isekai not a romcom but still). In it the MC was actually fairly nice looking but anytime he'd get close with a girl the childhood friend would mention to them how he's a pervert and couldn't help starting at their breasts or skirts and some other stuff. This made her pretty much the only girl he had a relationship with. Stuff happens and she becomes more interested in another guy while still badmouthing him. Later on some girls actually meet him and it's revealed he is nothing like what the CHF described him as. Iirc even later the CHF tricked herself into believing her own lies for her own sake because he was doing better without her and she couldn't accept who he was now.

I was actually almost got bored with this cus the Childhood friend was being very annoying but turned out its not all bad.
MC, no matter how much Shoko poured all her love to him, wasn't entirely convinced and questioned her initial behaviour towards him which was a total opposite of being nice and clingy. This guy wasn't simply just gonna accepted her affection but still gave her a chance to change because she sincerely apologized what she has done.
But to be honest, no guy would ever like a girl that's too controlling and too clingy. Shoko kinda ruined that relationship with him because of bad tsundere attitude, but she was lucky that he's not really gonna throw her out even despite telling her to cut ties. I actually agree with him that no matter how much she loved him, being too "overprotective" is a bit annoying and she should have some freedom. Not only he doesn't interact with other girls, I don't see any guy gonna near him either, making him isolated from "society".
