@@vibes3360 you ask why? It's been sitting without a carburettor, out in the open, possibly for years. I seriously doubt the current owner took out the spark plugs before he 'stored' it, added oil to the cylinders and turns the engine over at least once every two weeks.

@@vibes3360 oil coats the cylinders and prevents the rings from seizing. It's a common practice when storing vehicles for a long time, especially since fuel fumes are hygroscopic (attract moisture from the air leading to rust on the cylinder walls). End of my "rambling".

Learning the intricate details of each individual car and any car in general requires definite knowledge and constant study, as well as experience and care. When you are a flipper, you have none of this, because you don't care. You put the "hamburger" on the grill (the car) and then flip one price to sucker the seller, than flip another price to sucker the buyer, then you get paid and do it all over again with another car.

Eric Trump, daddy Mommy said come home Oh ok maybe that was a trim package option? I bought a ‘68 RR in 1979 for $75.00. Here in N.E. Ohio it was a rust bucket to say the least, but the 383/4 speed was still pretty strong. The trunk was rusted out so bad that when I smoked the rear tires or ran the engine hard, the interior would fill up with blue or white smoke. Then get home after an evening of hot rodding around add oil to the engine & have it ready for the next round. Hearing different stories from folks that owned these types of cars never gets old. Quick way to tell what year on a Mopar - those circular lights on the fenders/quarters = 1968. In 1969 they were rectangular but were just reflectors not lights. In 1970 they were rectangular and were lights. Also, I believe that the push button on the outside door handles in 1968 were black. 1969-70 they were chrome.
