I am back to frifty and frugal ways. It felt nice spending a bit of money but now it’s save save save for the big day - Christmas (am I allowed to say that in October ) 😂
I skip over Christmas everyone I know has everything they need and don't want more. My mom is in a nursing home with severe dementia I visit everyday and take treats many days. For some reason the nursing home gets fruit but not bananas so that is a treat when I take a couple bunches out and she shares and they all love cookies. Mom was 90 on the 20th of September
Our lives sound similar! Came back from a get-a-way with a nasty head cold and I also forgot to turn my washing machine on. Oh, well, this, too, shall pass. Hope you feel better, soon!
Omg Chrystal Tips and Alistair ❤❤❤❤❤ get well soon lovely Jane. Sorry to hear about the keys. It’s one annoying thing, but don’t be cross with yourself xxx
My sympathy to you as I’ve got lurgi too. At least you had a nice holiday. Madness about the keys though and all that extra faff, especially when you’re not feeling great. Hope your week goes well. Hope mums doing okay too.x
Oh, the key story is a story for the ages! And your fence! They are stonkingly pricey. We've needed ours replaced for a decade but ended up spending the fence fund on a half a new roof and a boiler recently... that has pretty much depleted our funds. Looking forward to hearing more about your very very very low spend autumn as I will be doing the same (and quite a big beyond at this rate).
Big expenses can be scary. We've been putting off new carpeting in our family room for too many years. It is 37 years old! New will be installed tomorrow. The price has more than doubled in that amount of time. We are fortunate we can pay for it with savings. Houses can eat up a lot of money, but they are important to take care of. Glad you got the fence sorted out.
I had a rotten head cold a couple of weeks ago, which was unusual for me. Even if the whole family is sick, it usually skips me. Hope you feel better soon and the chaos dies down.
Booths has , I think, around 27 branches in the North West - mostly Cumbria and Lancashire. They are known as the Waitrose of the North. We go to the Lakes a lot and Booths is my favourite supermarket. The trick is to shop in Sainsbury's, Lidl or Aldi in Kendal and take food from there. Booths is lovely for treats which we budget for when we go. Hope that helps!
Bought our Christmas pudding on boxing day last year and have started buying Christmas presents tend to buy them through the year, have also bought our Christmas joint and frozen it. As you can see I like to be organized 😂
@@raymondtwitchett488 mine is a small Canon, but I wouldn’t especially recommend it. In fact, I am considering a thermal label printer. Might ask Santa to get me one 😀
My friend came back from her holiday abroad feeling exactly the same..10 days now .. I used to fly a lot and called it the 'air con' cough... every time...I blame all this silly weather .. everyone is coughing spluttering and snuffling.. 😆
@@raymondtwitchett488 I did a second test and it’s clear so I think it is actually a heavy cold. It’s worse than the last time I had covid, funnily enough!
My husband had a cold a few days ago. He added additional vitamin C, quercetin and zinc to his daily vitamins, he used the mesh nebulizer with saline, plus I made him some mullein tea. He also had some black currant/blueberry wine we made this summer. He knocked it out in a couple days. I caught it about the same time, but it hit me a little harder. I was sleepy, had body aches as well as a runny nose and coughs. I followed the same routine, plus added naps and minced garlic in honey. It took me a couple days longer to get over it. I use shampoo bars as well as the conditioner bars on my hair. I don’t get the frizz like I used to when I used bottled shampoo with all the toxic chemicals that dried my hair out. My husband lets me cut his hair for him, I enjoy doing it and he returns the favor by trimming my long hair for me. It saves us hundreds of dollars each year, plus never a bad haircut. You may want to try the routine we used to knock out your cold, plus shampoo bars to eliminate the frizziness in your hair. I don’t know if your husband would let you cut his hair, or if you would let your husband near your tresses with the shears. I know other couples who simply wouldn’t trust their partner, but say that we are fortunate that we can do it for each other with such great results.
My husband is really good, he does the full sectioning, pinning it up and letting it down in increments to trim with sharp hair shears. We have a large mower on the farm, but I just want my hair neatly trimmed, not a decapitation. I do understand that you don’t trust your husband, I have a couple friends that have had my husband trim their long hair as their husbands could not put their hair in a ponytail, let alone braid it, so they would not trust them with shears near their hair.
There are Booths across the North West, I think it’s the flagship store in The Lakes. We have one near us and it’s definitely a treat shop and yes on a par with Waitrose but has lots of local produce too. Kirsten and Joerg YT channel recently did a vlog from the local shop if anyone wants a nosy around x. th-cam.com/video/AwQeg71uIMc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EF7APa5n1uuJFLpT

I think a roof and a boiler take precedence over a pesky fence. I would have loved NOT to have spent the money on that.
