Sounds about right, cvt fluid is somewhat hard which is why you just let the dealer do it. As for refrigerant it never really gets low unless there’s a leak, and I agree mechanic is better because they will vacuum the entire system and recharge it to correct ounce. The refrigerant cans may work but it is hard to gauge how much ounces is already in the system to reach the correct amount.
No it does not work, get EPSF it actually makes a difference. The Preston’s Asian power steering fluid is for hydraulic systems you should get electric power steering fluids only. It won’t necessarily harm your power steering in the short term but long term I can see it maybe happening. I had accidentally used the Asian power steering for 4ish years and my power steering is fine I think, I flushed it out myself with Nissan genuine EPSF and it’s amazing! maybe because the oil degraded or maybe the Prestone one wasn’t good but I think it’s just best to do it correct the first time.
I don't under stand why they wouldn't make checking trans fluid user friendly im sure your right its just about money at that point and useless for people wanting to learn a thing or two about the vehicles they own
@@midsyntax Except many do not actually include dip sticks. There is only a plastic part at the top. Getting the cap off does not allow you to check the fluid.
I just picked my 2017 altima back up from the dealership after the transmission going out, now I'm noticing a light taping/rattling, not loud but it wasn't there before the replacement, would you suspect this is from the new transmission just hasn't worked the fluid and lube through?
Thank you so much! As a single mom this helps me so much.

The cap is locked, has to go in a certain way but it’s not hard if you already have experience.
