I like small jewelry that I cannot feel on my skin. I don’t wear costume jewelry. My husband buys dainty earrings, necklaces, and rings for me and gives them to me on special occasions. I have a few pair of sapphire earrings, a couple of tiny diamond earrings, and one or two Ruby and emerald. I have pearl earrings and necklaces. It’s taken many, many years to accumulate these meaningful pieces. Ladies, if you like jewelry, let your husband know what jewelry you like to wear. He will enjoy giving you a gift of jewelry that you will enjoy wearing.
I agree, this is why I rarely wear necklaces and prefer earrings that clasp as opposed to hang or that have a pointed backing.
Hello Nikki, I found 2 pair earrings & 1 costume bracelet to give away. I lost my dainty gold diamonds bracelet years ago and still miss it; I told my husband a couple times I felt it needed a better clasp but he didn’t find a problem. I do cherish jewelry gifts from my family and have a couple real pearl necklaces and a delicate tiny diamond necklace that has lasted 20 years (only my diamond engagement ring and anniversary diamonds band has lasted longer. The years we lost babies to miscarriages, my husband so thoughtful gave me special jewelry gifts.

I went through my jewellery about 5 years ago, and haven't bought any more since. I gave some pieces to friends and sold some. I only wear a few pieces now - my wedding ring, a 15th anniversary ring, both from my husband, a small triskel necklace from my son, and a watch I've had for many years. I've stopped wearing earrings because I was getting a lot of infections - not thrilled with the holes showing with my very short hair, but it's more comfortable. Thank you, Nikki, for all your organization, decluttering and just support that you give all of your viewers!
Hi Nikki, I am committed to viewing/liking your TH-cam and Patreon videos and subscribing to your channels. I discovered you about five years ago. I am a midwestern-U.S. wife and step-mother in my 40's. My favorite thumbnails are like this one. Clean and clear, they really pack a punch. My favorite content is watching you do anything. Your dignity, poise and high standards are what inspire me. Decluttering is a personal passion, so this series is heaven. I would love to watch you weed and order everything everywhere (house/garage/playhouse/vehicles); to be a fly on the wall observing that weeding-and-ordering process from start to finish. I think of this quote: "Tell me and I will forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I will understand."

Yes! When you hone in on your personal style it gets a lot easier to let go. The money isn't a waste. You paid to learn something and you have a checklist from the experience. I find when I do that I can create more looks because it feels like me.

I have really enjoyed this series. I'm not sure why it would be less watched. The only suggestion I would have is to show a little of the process as you declutter. I'm sure that would make the videos harder to make, though. I even enjoy as you put things away or prepare them to be donated.
I agree. My only advice would also be to maybe do a voiceover as you show what you are decluttering instead of sitting and talking to us about it or maybe you could do a picture in picture and show yourself like in the corner talking to us with clips in the main screen of, you going through your jewelry?
I agree! I was so disappointed that she didn’t show us which pieces she kept and which ones she discarded!
It was my understanding that I included overlay shots of the jewelry I decluttered. It was never my intention however to hold up each individual piece and talk about it and why I was decluttering it as it was all costume jewelry that had tarnished or wasn’t my style anymore. It certainly does create a lot more work to go through things individually not to mention to film the whole deciding process which takes away from doing it effectively. There are things I film differently as my current state of mind plays a big role in my creative process or the lack there of. I completely understand if you are desiring a different sharing and filming style.
Just doing the large amount of decluttering you are doing is a big job in itself. Thank you for taking us along on your journey. One thing I've learned is the way you've broken down the rooms into smaller areas over a series of days and weeks. When you have finished this series, your house will feel so fresh and clean.
Hi Nikki, i have been following along with Vlogmas and this series. I decluttered my small amount of jewelry right after this video because it was a small and doable task. Same with the makeup video from the other day. I get so overwhelmed by wanting a huge change or always focusing on the shared space clutter. I like how all of the thumbnails from a series have the same image.
In going through my jewelry, I became aware of all the impulse purchases that I’ve made.
I cringe at the “statement “necklaces. As an artist, I liked their design, but they weren’t really “me.”
I ,like you, tend to wear the same simple pieces.
I tend to wear scarves instead of necklaces, too.
I purge every once in a while. I’ll set a pair of earrings aside if I’m considering letting them go.
That process has exposed the excess earrings that I have.
Sigh, temptation and impulsiveness are challenging to resist. Over time I have become much better at resisting and feeling better for it.
It’s also a step in good money management.

I just love how you made a broach out of earrings, very creative.😊 A tip I learned involving earrings is that if you lose the back, you can rip the eraser off a pencil and use it temporarily 😅. I love how you made the life book, I plan on getting one for myself and my mom . I've already commented/ complimented on it, but would like to add that I think the current choice for the current series is very eye catching. Hi Nikki! I love jewelry, real and what I have always called junk jewelry. The junk jewelry I know will have to be replaced every so often. It tarnishes and you just can’t have that. So I think it’s fun to get something different. My husband over the last 5 years has bought me more real jewelry. But I find I really love the fake for being able to change it constantly. It makes me happy and doesn’t stress me to do that. I know some are stressed by that. And I really love your advice to do what you are comfortable with and not apologize for it. 🩷 blessings to you
My jewelery chest is a space that I have neglected for a long time. Going through this space will.get done.
Thank you for this video! It inspired me to jump up and declutter my jewelry. I inherited a jewelry cabinet like yours from my mom. I never would have taken it if I hadn’t heard how you use yours for more than just jewelry. I also like to wear the same pieces of jewelry over and over, so thank you for sharing your preferences. It helped me to let go of things that are just too heavy or I just never wear. While I was decluttering, I found a pendant that had been my mom’s, and I love it! I’m going to have it made into a ring. I’m not much into jewelry, and my mom’s taste and mine aren’t very similar, so it’s a huge blessing to find something I like.

I too wear very little Jewelry. I get it from my Mom who is the same way. I don't have piercings. I tried the clip ons but they are a bit painful and end up in my purse mid- day. My everyday Jewelry are only my Wedding rings. I also occasionally wear a Fashion Pearl Necklace for special occasions. I am however a Brooch lover. I love the earring ➡️ Brooch upcycle idea Nikki. I would say I am happy with less in this season.
Thank you for this. I have always had the hardest time with deciding to declutter jewlery. I always had in the back of my mind is this something that i'll regret later if i get rid of them. However after listening and taking in the advice and the comments the common theme is if it doesnt bring joy or if it's not something you use on a daily basis it's not going to be missed. Now heirlooms are on a different level but the costume jewlery you get from family members or from that event that you got to go to once, that's not going to be that hard to part with. So that helps me when you said "Don't feel bad" because often times I had but for what reason is there to even feel bad. It's not going to make or break me. My everyday is just pretty enough. ❤😊

I am a newer subscriber here. I’ve seen some of your cleaning videos before. Personally I I found it helpful to go back and watch some of your previous months videos to get to know you a bit. With having vlogmas and the declutter series back to back it felt weird to jump in if that makes sense. But glad I came for a visit because I’m definitely here to stay 😁 I do agree that consistent thumbnails for a series is definitely helpful for reference

This was so interesting! We are so similar in some respects, but I use my accessories (jewelry, shoes, purses) to change up my looks rather than my clothing pieces. My basic core wardrobe goes with different looks with my accessories but I have fewer clothes than you and I change them out only twice a year. Enjoyed this video!! 🤎🤎

I’d say turn them into books digitally that can be printed. There are many companies that offer this and all the books will look lovely on a shelf or upload and share through a digital frame.
I for sure need to go through my jewelry. For some reason, I have a hard time parting with stuff even though I NEVER wear it anymore. I think it's the "saying goodbye to my former self" that hangs me up. 🥺

Nikki it’s not you at all. The reason could be due to the daily videos in and of themselves. I know personally I don’t have time to watch on a daily basis so I end up having to pick and choose. Personally I always choose you ❤ But the same thing happened to me for Vlogmas. I think people just prefer 1-3 times a week for videos simply due to time restraints. Your thumbnails are so beautiful and your content is flawless.
I feel like I need help in this area. It is very hard for me to part with jewelry that I rarely if ever wear if it is from my family. I usually only wear one of three different sets of earrings, my wedding ring, my anniversary ring, my watch and that’s it, yet I have a ton of jewelry. I wonder how to handle this. I wouldn’t want them to notice something is gone and get offended so I just have kept everything.
This can be hard for so many. I am of the mindset that once it’s yours, it’s also yours to deal with and do as you please. They may feel offended if you don’t wear it as well, but that doesn’t mean you will just to appease them right? I know I don’t. I think it goes hand in hand and if they ask, just explain that you keep and wear your favorites🌹

This video would have been a million times better if you actually showed us what you were decluttering and how you decided what you liked vs what you wanted to get rid of. The only payoff was the cute dog at the end.
Nailed it! Maybe you missed the shots of the jewelry as that’s what I decluttered. Those earrings I was wearing, that’s what I kept because I wear them every day as I said. Glad you liked seeing Miss Lady. Ultimately, the point was to share what to go through, your jewelry box. What I have and chose to get rid of really didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
💐 I am just of course speaking on what I think(😁), but it seems that if you are teaching orderliness, it would be easier to reference and watch, if a series were all labeled the same as far as the background, and numbered. Then a clear labeled reference as to subject. One person I watch has done series on The Fly Lady which I like to go back every so often and watch. It’s much easier to find because they all have the same background and are numbered and labeled. I have been watching your channel for years and have much in common in thinking, decorating, and colors. I also love the pink depression dishes and have a very small collection of them. 😊🩷🌸👏
