Was wowed by your lavish spending too - no cheaper Grabs or 10k convenience store waters for this man of means.

Chris you can walk across the street to get uber or grab in the parking lot that's is allowed i done it. The driver told me this is the best and easiest way

I think you were thinking of where you get Grab cars from the domestic terminal. For the international terminal you simply cross the road at the crossing before you get to the taxi stand. You'll see the big green umbrella's with Grab all over them just inside the carpark.
Does the airport has wifi to order a grab? I won’t have SIM card . Should I be all right?
To order a grab. Is that correct? Get out of the airport. Turn left all the way (where he went) and should it be in front of the taxi where he took the ride?
How do you pay for taxi? Do I need cash? I arrive at 11:30pm is taxi safe at that time? What about private shuttle is that a thing? My hotel doesn’t have a shuttle. Thanks

Turn left in front of Popeye, there’s a row of atms there. Also if you turn right when you exit the international terminal heading towards domestic terminal, there’s more atms on the right hand side.

May I ask you how hard is immigration to get through? The reason I ask if I will be traveling there with several different medications. I will have doctors notes and prescriptions for them, and none will be narcotics or psychotropics. But I did want to ask someone who has done it before just because I don't want to bring the wrong thing. Thank you for any advice you have.
Sound advice at any airport, really. Soon as I'm out of that airplane hatch I leg it to immigration.

I never wait in those big lineups. If you're staying there long-term get a connection within the airport who gets you through quickly. I get VIP service in the airport. (This is for the expats reading this)

What taxi or bus service do you recommend if I were to need to travel 4hrs to the mountains right after I get off the airplane? Is there a bus service right outside of the airport like those taxis you were avoiding?
Yes there are bus all over saigon, if you look up google map u will see it, if i were you i take the bus to the last location where it drop you off and get off there then take taxi or grab, that will save a bunch.

Taxi from airport is always easier than Uber, Lyft, Grab, or whatever. Typically you can get a taxi right away.
There's a private bus company right in front of the airport where you were, at one of those concrete posts..just to the right. 6 bucks right to central Saigon. It's really good.

those taxi booths are actually not that bad if its your FIRST time in vn and dk how taxis or grab works yet. Usually 100k more than a grab but still not to bad

A digital e-ticket (not a boarding pass) or proof that you have purchased the ticket is sufficient. Sometimes the authorities just make it more difficult than it is.

If you're overseas Vietnamese, always choose a female immigration officer for passport check. They are less likely to ask for "drinking money".

If there is refill options, they will almost always be near the toilets in any airport in the world. So just look after toilets.

How much did the can cost you to get home? USD?
Cab to District 1 should not be more than 150.000 with Vinasun or Mai Linh (sp?), depends on the traffic too. We are talking about 5-6 USD. I have not been there since COVID started, but I would imagine that it has not changed that much. I once screwed up and took a yellow taxi from the first line (Chris told to avoid, yes) and they charged 3 times the normal price. I will never be dumb again.
