My god dude it's DC volts man! It will Zap u if you touch it while energized. But the meter will denergize the tested circuit. Once you let off the test button and the Red power light goes out. You must be a Safety Director or just never been around electrical testing.

How are you holding 1000V without PPE?
this is at a very low amperage so the power is very low.
Keep in mine the 1000V is coming from a 9volt battery.
