This is a dumb yet fantastic action movie. I forgot this existed! Two guys that aren’t really gun-fighting action stars came in to make this a better film than it probably would have otherwise been. The suppressed .22 scene is up there in originality and the climactic end feels like a bonus scene; a little P.S. at the bottom of a letter. Good watch.
Worked on a set once as a sort of "stand by Network consultant" (the studio had major network problems) and was able to watch some of the filming and talk to some guys. They said most action films they actually film loads of reloading and "gun maintenance" (e.g. jamming, or feeding failures), but those scenes often get cut because they lessen the action of the scene. Bullshit if you ask me, but that's just how it is.

If you use flares it would pretty much explode every single time.
I don't understand the movie implies swagger was in Marine Corps Force Recon but during the mission where his buddy was killed they were wearing the Army ACU camo pattern not the USMC MARPAT Pattern

Within the first 3 seconds of the video 0:03 I noticed something wrong. Snipers don't close one eye. They still leave both of them open. Especially when you are running and shooting at the same time desperate to find proper cover.
Not entirely true, not entirely false. They do close one eye when shooting so as to not miss their shot. Having two different images being sent to your brain can easily cause a missed shot due to differing ranges. You keep both open until a target is acquired. You close the one you don't aim with for a more accurate shot. This isn't the same as archery or a normal rifle, these scopes are powerful, and the images being sent to the brain clash, making it much harder to focus.
