Seeing Season 2 has just been announced, I know Miyo’s challenge this season is dealing with her in-laws. I bet it will be the whole cliched “Main Character’s mother/father in-law hates him/her because he/she think that they’re poor, stupid, rude, a hussy, a delinquent or not even human and their child should marry someone better than the Main Character.”
Yeah, I read a bit of spoiler . .. . . . . . Apparently, Kiyoka's mother hates Miyo, and she is exactly like Kaya and, in some cases, worse than her, but Kiyoka not only hates his mother but also detests her. She's a foul-tempered, haughty, abrasive, and arrogent spoiled rich girl type of character, and she believes that Miyo is a shameless hussy who tries to take advantage of the son she was so proud of through crocodile tears and pitiness. Meanwhile, Kiyoka's father is the one who initiated the marriage proposal of Miyo and Kiyoka, so he had no problem with Miyo, but Kiyoka also hated his father for failing to control his own wife's behavior and, in some cases, being unaware of her terrible behavior and plan. Kiyoka's father was born with a frail constitution and is weak. The reason Kiyoka became the head of the Kudou family almost immediately after graduation is because of his father's weak constitution. The novel describes Kiyoka's father as weak, slender, fragile, androgynous, eloquent, and graceful like a princess, and he could be misidentified as Kiyoka's brother despite being a man in his fifty. So, you kind of get the family dynamic. It's kind of cliche, but it will be interesting to see Miyo find the courage to prove herself against her future mother-in-law while Kiyoka fully supports her against his own mother. Kiyoka's mother is the antagonist of the arc. But other than his mother, I believe that Kiyoka's entire family had no problem with Miyo and welcomed her. His father is even described as being very proud of the job well done in instigating the Miyo and Kiyoka marriage proposal.
@@piereandreturner2818 So Kiyoka’s mom is basically just like Francis Griffin and Carter Pewterschimdt from family Guy, Patty and Selma from the Simpsons, Fred’s mother in-law from the Flintstones, Stan Smith from American Dad and Bernice Forman from That 70s show.

@@KallenWill10 Yeah, that happened at the end of the arc. But still, anyway, I suppose that made her better than some of those mother-in-law troupes out there, considering it only occurred for only one arc, a legit concerned prior meeting Miyo and amazing characters development.
Hi Mr Anime not been on for a while but I've just read the light novel 6 wow worth the wait cannot wait for the last book so have pre-ordered the light novel 7. I cannot wait to see how the anime turns out whoopee!!!

The story takes place 1890-1892. In the 8th Light Novel they visit Ryōunkaku Tower (it's not mentioned by name, only that it's twelve stories tall, the upper levels are made of wood, and it has an elevator). The elevator was only used during those years. WW1 and the Great Kanto Earthquake would be the biggest historical events. However, that would make the world building expand a lot, like how do Gift Users live outside of Japan, ie are they nobles too?
