- In this video, I use black ink and kraft garbage bags to demonstrate a variety of marks and textures that can be created from very basic items. You definitely have some of these common things in your junk door, garage, or yard. Don't let my limited list hold you back because once you get started you'll look at everything differently.
If you have any thoughts, questions, or comments I'd love to hear them. And if you enjoyed this video please like and subscribe. Thanks so much for watching.

What a great idea to use flowers for mark making.. you just know I will be trying that!
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks I like doing this too. I especially like using brown paper grocery bags and black ink to start then I tear them up to use for vintage cards or in my art journal. I like these organic videos.
That makes me so happy! Glad to know there is someone else out there who likes painting on garbage bags!
How fun! Thanks for sharing ❤
@@theresacurrin6395 Glad you enjoyed the video, Theresa. Isn't it amazing how you can use everyday things to make art?
Thank you from South Africa!❤️❣️
Thanks for watching Jane! We're being creative from Seattle to South Africa.
Wow! I have used several of the same mark making tools, but not flowers or erasers! I especially liked the marks from the erasers and of course the flowers. Looks like I will be adding these to my mark making kit.
Well, the good news is that erasers and flowers/botanicals are generally free because you already have them.
Hi I'm new to your channel, and I'm loving it. Loving all of your mark making tools. Some I have never used and others were good reminders. Also I love using brown paper bags, I have to add that in my collage paper making. Awesome video!!!
I appreciate you watching and letting me know! Thanks so much!
Ah, Seattle. Pam, what part of Seattle? I'm in West Seattle.
I live in West Seattle too!
And this why I can’t go to home improvement stores, ha ha…. Oh and my walks in nature consist of dreaming what I could us and do often gather things.
I hear ya--it is so easy to start thinking of all the creative uses for random things....but then you actually have to use them!
What do you do with these when finished?
Often I tear them the paper up and use as collage for other projects--in my art journal, as a base for greeting cards, or as a starting point for a canvas painting. If I really don't like it then it gets thrown into the recycling bin. But either way it's the process of being creative that is most important.
