Because that literally happened when Valve made Half-Life Alyx. Steam added over 1 million more connected headsets in just a month right before Alyx's release. That's how this works. Games sell platforms.

The advice at the end of video is paramount. if gaming isn't doing it for you, TAKE A BREAK, otherwise change up your approach and try something new! This makes the world of difference. I say this as someone who lost their lust for gaming @ 34 but rediscovered it while relearning what made gaming fun. Give it a break, its worthwhile and makes the world of difference when you come back, even if its only to give the favorite genera's a break!

What is happening to Hollywood now is very similar to the collapse of the Soviet film industry. Once upon a time, good films were shot in the USSR, which brought great profits, and the director who made a good film received a huge cash bonus, this caused great envy. Of course, there were many directors who could only push the agenda but were unable to make a good film. In the end, bad directors said: our bad films are stuffed with an agenda, but no one watches them because there are good films, let's just forbid making films without a communist agenda. I think you understand how it all ended. In the USA, the situation is exactly the same now, good directors are simply forbidden to make films. Quentin Tarantino wanted to film a new part of Star Trek, but he was simply not allowed to do so. In fact, those people who control the US are simply destroying Hollywood and the gaming industry for the sake of their insane ideology. Sometimes some directors still manage to make a good movie, sometimes some studios still manage to make a good video game, but these lunatics don't stop. At least they don't stop on their own.

I am going to look old school here but personally I feel that the “golden age” of gaming was the late 90s to early 2000s. The PS1, N64, Game Boy / Color / Advance, and PS2 were so legendary and most of the games that came out for them all are timeless classics today. I feel that those years were the days when developers were actually making games with passion and the games themselves felt complete and were also simple. Nowadays developers tend to release unfinished games and rely on post patching to really “complete” their games. With that being said, the games today also feel like they’re made with business in mind and no passion anymore. Lastly comes all of the bs that’s the opposite of simple for example what happened with Gran Turismo 7 regarding the “always online requirement” like why??? What happened to putting a disc in your console and immediately playing? Now you put a disc in and immediately get bombarded with downloading all of these patches, getting terms and conditions pop ups about how to use the game and online, and even this so basically if the servers are under maintenance down to your wifi box going out, you can’t play the game?? Come on man. Then going back to the business thing, when Polyphony had the audacity to release that infamous patch which reduced the credits you received from anything and made the cars more expensive. Clearly was done to be greedy. Definitely was the last thing to expect from Polyphony of all people and especially for a series that used to be legendary 20 years ago. Activision and EA were the ones that really started those whole greedy business trends and it feels like everyone slowly is getting that same greedy corruption which is creeping into their games in obvious ways.

I completely agree. My problem with video games today is there's no personality or variety anymore. Everything is just generic hogwash.
Probably the vast majority of AAA games now are games with generic first person shooter combat, generic gritty artstyles, generic storylines, same control schemes / movement / weapon types, often enemies that play the exact same way of games. There are many games that have basically no depth in their gameplay and they may augment their shallowness by marketing themselves as a "co-op game" but you look at the game itself and it's shit and you just stand in one place, aim down sights, and shoot at a hovering, bullet spongey enemy that takes tons of hits, and then move and do the same thing against the next enemy.
I'm not saying I have a problem with shooters or 'gritty' games, but I remember when games of that type used to be "experimental" or "artsy". Like you play Goldeneye 007 and the fluid movement, the stealth mechanics, the openness and objective feel to the levels, etc, it felt like it was trying to be its "own" thing. I don't necessarily mind games like Gears of War because its cover system was revolutionary and it had shit like the Lancer that was unique. But more and more games that followed down this road, there's no uniqueness or artsyness or soul to it anymore. Games are just being this because they have to, I guess.
Me, I consider myself a 'real' gamer. I know I'll be the guy that gets shit on for gatekeeping, but what I mean is like, i actually have an _adventurous_ taste in games. i like to see games have different styles and gimmicks and try new things. I like the _entire spectrum_ of video games. My favorite games are hack n' slashes, early survival horror (e.g. Resident Evil 2 on PS1), some early first person shooters (Doom, Quake, Halo CE), and some action or adventure platformers like Megaman or Metroid. But even I need like, say, a Mario Galaxy or a Kirby game. Even I need a more 'gritty' game like, Dark Sector on Xbox 360, or Alien vs Predator 2010.
Gamers these days aren't really 'gamers'. They have these extremely, _extremely_ narrow tastes and it just bogs things down for the gaming 'nerds' myself. I don't want games that are first person 24/7, I want _different_ perspectives. I liked fixed camera games, I like sidescrollers and 2D games. Gamers now are like "oh if its first person and it doesn't have guns in it, then i dont want to play it". Or there are people who "only play games for the story" and they're another form of cancer because they're often causing games to be designed and marketed more like movies. There are so many people who don't even want to explore new kinds of games and are just lazy
I feel like the vast majority of people into games just don't have the same passion as someone like me. I was 'autistic' over video games at an early age and now you see the industry 'drained' by people who have an extremely shallow and barebones interest in it. It sucks away my enthusiasm, honestly.

I feel like most people have rose tinted glasses when it comes to older eras of games. A good example is the argument of “this game is unfinished”. We hear it constantly but…what does it actually mean? The concept of a “unfinished game” is complex as…well…what do you define as a “finished game”?
Is it a game that has every single bit of content in it? Cause that would disqualify a shit ton of our favorite games from the past. Maybe it’s a game that’s bug free…which would also disqualify tons of beloved classics.
I personally qualify a finished game as one that is playable from start to finish. However, even my own definition is flawed as some games aren’t intended to have a end.
Then we get into the concept of dev time. So many people say stuff like “they should have pushed the launch date back” or “this game was rushed” when that isn’t always the case or even possible.
This ties into a single issue: people are stuck in the past.
As games get more and more complex with larger and larger development budgets: there is a larger and larger chance for bugs.
I’m also gonna go out on a limb and say that games now are actually more feature rich than in the past. Think about it honestly. Back before updates were a thing for games: you could only add so much. Now, you can continuously add more and more content and fix bugs after launch.
I also wanna add one last thing: the internet. Back in the PS1/PS2 days: the internet as we know it was just starting to kick off. If you wanted to find info on a game, you had to hunt down a magazine or some obscure internet article: now you can just google the name and immediately get all the info you want about a game. It’s not that we are getting more and more “broken” games and “unfinished” games: it’s more so that we know more and more about said games in general thanks to the internet.

Heck, Mega Man 3 and Devil May Cry 4 have had TONS of cut content to rush the game out on time, and they're both extremely gratifying experiences. Mega Man 3 one of the best on NES !!! That's why they recycled bosses from Mega Man 2, they originally wanted 4 more unique bosses. it didn't detract from the near flawless design .

Well said. Also as games get bigger and bigger they also get harder and harder to develop. Require much bigger teams and of course are going to have more bugs. Sure tactics like "Fix it later" are becoming more and more common and obviously money plays a huge part.
People seem to only remember the good games when they look back. I remember hearing someone unironically saying "The PS2 had no bad games." No, the PS2 had TONS of crap.
Of course there's also trends. I got started playing Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 and I would LOVE a return to deathmatch games. I wish Doom eternal had deathmatch...
Indie games are definitely killing it currently. Looking forward to Trepang2.
Edit : Well said about "Dead." So many times I hear people dismiss stuff as "Dead game" when it has thousands of hardcore fans. I feel people in general are also just more toxic these days too. Talking about Trepang2 before look at some of the comments on the trailers on IGN... lol

This is true but to also debunk some of these points
One problem games make more money than ever in the history of gaming that's the issue cyberpunk for instance they were exposed for not hiring play testers same with ea with anthem it's just companies are more greedy than ever too
Also they use the old if ain't broke don't fix it method and it works out look at cod, fifa, and Madden even tho their usually the most broken games to launch they usually do the most well as well so I blame us cringe word "gamers" for this modern gaming
Madden for instance ever since Madden 13 introduced ultimate team and such you can tell the sharp decline in polish the Madden games around that time just to prove my point even further
Basically I agree with you it's just companies are more lazy and games make more money than any industry so keep that in mind
But the indie industry to me is where it is at

    • @epic8923
      @epic8923 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The whole thing of releasing it now and fix later shouldn't not exist though, games are much harder to make nowadays than ever before, sure but that's why the dev teams keep getting bigger and games as result also get more expensive right? On top of that the industry makes tons of money nowadays too so in my view there's literally no excuse for releasing broken shit. The only reason they do so it's because people don't care. The AAA industry is literally slapping the whole community across their faces and still folk keep supporting them. It makes no sense to me and i genuinely have a hard time understanding people who are willing to shit out 70+ quid for a game that barely functions.

    • @CoolSs
      @CoolSs ปีที่แล้ว +2

"Also as games get bigger and bigger they also get harder and harder to develop"
that make no sense imo. let me explain. i think games are not getting hard to develop but they become too bloated. not only now we have more vet developer in the industry more than ever (already a more than 30 years old industry) but also the amount of automation and easy use with many tools and engines. and even when in the next few years when we get AI help with coding and AI writing stories and even art for the game. the games will still be a mess. it's not a money problem (do you even see how big today game budget is) or men power problem. like now a days. no "AAA" company have less than 500 employees (unless if you are efficient +weird like Valve who also neglected tf2) it's an organization/focus/vision/management of resources problem.

  • @sektor_mk2

In recent videos you touched the topic of releasing unfinished games. I am an experienced enterprise programmer and I started by career as gamedev, so I know some devs in the space
I will share some knowledge why games are often released unfinished. It is more complex than modey and greed
Making games is hard. So studios try to expand their management strategies. In enterprise software there is a very popular and successful set of management principles, collectively known as "agile" . Game producers see that success and try to incorporate them in gamedev, because both are software. A core agile philosophy is "release often and get feedback from customers" . The whole software as a service methodology started here as a way to make software updates more agile. Agile has many facets and some good reasons behind it, but it is very easy for managers to misinterpret it as "it is ok to use your customers as testers" . This is what happens in enterprise, it is worse in gamedev.
The real idea of agile is to start with something good and humble and gradually build on top of it. It can produce amazing games like Path of Exile and Warframe. But it does not fit gamedev while being heavily pushed there.

    • @V-Jes

But at same time, a lot of those people will say the new games they didn't grow up with in those franchises suck regardless of actual quality, and if you want a great example of that just look at the Pokémon fanbase where starting from Black and White 1 (from around 13 years ago) the fans are outright looking for an excuse so they can say the newest games are the worst in the series before they even play the games, and for BW1 the art style being slightly different was enough to say they suck and the search for more reasons began...

One thing that really bothers me in new games are the UI. It's bloated beyond comprehension; why do I need dozens of color coded data, key popups, medals, prompts, DLC ads and all that Excel sheet aesthetic while all I want is to point a gun and shoot, for instance?
When i play old games, the first thing I notice is how cozy the UI looks, how clean everything looks on my screen without dumping me in unecessary information.

Honestly, I think another big problem is that the internet has become too cynical, it's nothing to do with toxic positivity or "good vibes only" crap, there are games coming out with genuine issues, some others are legit not up to par for their bloated $70 pricetag, but this year in particular I found it specially tiring when something like Atomic heart happened.
If you only ever listened to the usual reviewers and content creators, you'd think Atomic Heart is a stinker that shouldn't had been made to begin with, but then you play it and it turns out the game is actually good and fun.
I've started branching out into playing different games from my usual on my backlog, and turns out I'm re-kindling my love for gaming in a big way, even at 34 years old gaming is still filling my depression ridden heart with joy.
Also I stopped looking at cynical reviews and angry gamers who are never happy with anything because I started noticing being around that crowd was actually affecting me negatively, misery loves company and I'm honestly quite done being dragged down into it.

I've seen people saying that while playing Persona 5. How about playing an old console game or an arcade one and actually enjoy a game instead of making repetitive tasks with text as reward? Same with the lack of innovation. Play the library of a console you never had. I never had a PS2 and it's full of pretty unique games.

My favourite type of games is a PC western CRPG from the 90's, and oh boy - in many games you HAVE to read the manual to continue progressing the main story. As much as i love things like Baldur's Gate, Arcanum, Daggerfall etc - modern Gaming definetly improved a lot on this Aspect. The ones that I was interested in at least. For years I jumped onto the survival game trend. As flawed as a lot of these titles were I continued to enjoy gaming a lot. Having a disability and related health problems I never ended up working. Over time I realised that work makes recreation time more rewarding (back when I had school as a substitute). Not having much more on during the days it often turned into something to do to paas the time. I think ppl have preffered styles of games . These styles of games usually come from different eras. Its like someone prefereing music or movies from the 80's compared to now.

Naturally I would say 90/early 2000, PC gaming was so new, had rapidly advancing tech and the arrival of the internet. It wasn't just new to me because I was younger but it was new to humanity in general, everyone young and old was excited and that's why I think it was such a revolutionary time for both people who worked in the the industry and those consuming it. These days a lot of games are treading old water due to so much money being involed, less chances are taken and more quick bucks are being made due to gambling. Also not everyone having internet back in the day meant that games could not be as broken or rushed because they relied on the word of mouth and less on the word of some prepayed internet celebrity to promote them.

Bethesda may have been saved by Doom Eternal, but they were in some serious hot water. It is still the economy, and studios are attempting to make money. What makes me still love video games was my willingness to try other genres. In my younger days, I mostly stuck to Fighters, Strategy, and FPSs. I thought back then that RPGs were too complex for me to enjoy. If I wasn't open-minded, I would never have loved some of the best Single Player RPGs I've ever played like KOTOR, Oblivion/Skyrim, Dragon Age Origins, Witcher 3, Fallout 3/New Vegas/4, Neverwinter Nights 2, Dragon's Dogma, etc. Of course I do other hobbies besides gaming because getting burned out is a possibility from playing so much video games. Try to find a balance. Like u said, maybe you don't enjoy gaming as much now because you enjoy life less.
Thanks for the video Jarek. It was very insightful and made me think about how my passion for gaming is stronger than ever in my 30's. I don't believe modern gaming is bad *in general*, but there are definitely parts of it which have become dull to some and amazing to others. The boomer shooter revival has been going fairly strong for years now with major studios in the scene focusing on entertaining, fully functioning titles like DUSK, Amid Evil, Ultrakill, Ion Fury, Prodeus, Nightmare Reaper, REKKR, Selaco, Trepang 2, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, etc. (half-likes aren't boomer shooters in design terms, but they are a return-to-roots genre in the same way actual boomer shooters are) I would play a boomer shooter or a half-like over any AAA title any day of this past decade for the quality and performance alone.

Secondly, games now chase trends. Battle Royale, Souls like, Extraction shooters. YES I know we had Half Likes and DooM Clones but the quality of the final product now is less than it was.
Also yes, you do get less time and energy for games. Life gets in way as you get older.

I think modern gaming is a mixed bag .
About Tripple A : Its horrible . I would even say we dont need tripple A overall because many huge Corpos made not only bad schlock but they dont carry anything lately that makes them really a spotlight except advertising and Cringe events . Tripple-A aint totally useless but right now they made themselves right now. Only Corpos like THQ-nordic and Embracer-group seems trustworthy .
Indie-gaming : That depends and is mostly good . What really breaks often indie-games are trends again . The same with Tripple-A is now with indie-games but atleast Variation is still their key to success while samey games like a ton of boomer-shooters that are like quake or Doom can ne oversaturated lately but even there are some significant differences that could be worth a look . Im still waiting for more horror-FPS and more akin to 90s Horror games with consistency with its horror , style and actual great writing .
About Age : Ive seen , played and experienced many games in my life-time and what i really can say is that i crave for more cool and unique spins or something more personality in games that doesnt replace the one with another from its concept to its design . I watched so many cancled projects that had a very promising concept and design which begs me the question why nobody even take and being inspired by those concepts of those cancled projects and make their own projects out of it ?
Those are already great foundations that need to be made great in its execution.
For me , my age only asks for more freshly daring concepts and bold designs to play and experience it . Even writing should finally be more intelligent and nuanced then what we got nowadays . I mean the story to the Soul reaver games (or better the whole Legacy of kain games ) are written almost shakesperean but now its most of the time so juvenile and flat that its mostly an instant-pass or a playthrough of boredom or suffering.
I would say that modern gaming lost its spicey edges and its multitude of variation in different inspirations that even lowers quality and passion overall. Not only for the Developers but its Players too .

I don't like open worlds, gigantic skill trees, modern storytelling tropes/dialog, the direction multiplayers been taking, or story taking time away from the gameplay.
I just wanna sit down, have an interesting or great story to hook me, cool visuals and music, and play through fun levels with enjoyable mechanics. I don't wanna support some self indulgent project that thinks it's effective storytelling art, or head to multiplayer to be shown these smartphone UIs begging me to buy things. Gimme GoldenEye, gimme Syphon Filter, FEAR, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden. And no I'm not saying bring us back to the old days because all games were flawless, I'm just saying bring back the ideals of having fun game design with the toppings of artistic merit.

It's pretty much a singleplayer version of a traditional tabletop DND style game. It's just a big ol' grid board, an open world with plenty of quests, random encounters and LOTs of numbers. The idea of just being able to have fun is no longer the point of the game, the point is to grind for 300 hours to finally be able to have fun, until you realize that actually what you were grinding for wasn't all that great in the first place. I love raiding in D2, I love shitting on other players in War Thunder. I don't enjoy that it took hundreds of hours to be able to have fun. Nowadays everything isnt quality but a quick money grab for a product that isnt up to standard and breaks easy same with games developers want preorders and quick money grabs but release sub par games very rare having a game release now that doesnt need so much work to get it up to standard games realease so poor nowadays that majority people leave before developers actually fix their poor product. Another thing is finding a actually good developer that actually listens and works on their game on the daily basis.

The post launch support of the modern gaming industry is faaar better than it was 10 years ago and everyone seems to forget it. Personally I'd take an unfinished release that gets 5+ years of solid updates over something that releases in a polished state but never improves and makes you buy a sequel in 2 years time. For example, Stellaris came out kinda half baked in 2016 but has received about 3 sequels worth of content in DLC and free updates, and I'd take that over several sequels any day

It sure is but yet there's no excuse for releasing stuff that barely works at launch regardless of that. What's even point of paying upfront 70$ or so to try to play a game that doesn't work at release just for you to have to wait a couple more months to be able to enjoy it? You might as well wait and buy it later, for a cheaper price preferably too. Most importantly that type of practice affects AAA reputation significantly not that matters too much currently since people keep buying broken shit for some god forsaken reason. My only hope is that people start actually giving out money to devs that deserve it instead of others who couldn't give 2 shits about the community and just care about milking them dry instead.

If BF2042 launched for $25 in Early access, it wouldn't have received nearly as much criticism or damaged the brand as much as it did. Even though I enjoy 2042 now there's just no recovering from the negative reception it got on launch and AAA publishers need to learn that the way they're operating isn't sustainable in the long term.

The game industry has become as important and as big as the film industry now. Look how real life actors have made the jump to do motion capture for big AAA games like god of war for example and because of this the demand is higher, costs have risen and deadlines have to be met. This then causes developers to cut corners and rush games out. Look a cyberpunk for a classic example of this and it's a shame. Gone are the days a game would come out and if it sucked, it sucked forever because patches didn't exist so developers ensured they got the game to it's very best before release. We have to accept that now a good game will very rarely ever be released and be amazing from day one. Games will take a good 6 months of patches to get it right after it's been released.

4:00 I somewhat disagree. Pushing 40 soon, wife and kids. I always found time to play. And whilst I still play nearly everyday, I mostly just grind on ff8 or play some ps2 games. The last game I bought was cyberpunk and already by that point most of my gaming purchases were geared towards the retro end of the spectrum.
There's many reasons as to why I've not gelled with modern titles, maybe chief amongst being ubiquitous "best practice"

Im not a father myself, but I think it depends on a lot of things like your commuting time to and from work, your hours worked daily/weekly and how much attention/care your family demands. I think a lot of people have zero time for gaming on workdays unless they're willing to sacrifice sleep.

Great video man, I was feeling very jaded with FPS'es (because I also like Half likes). So I heard of the Dead Space and RE4 remakes. I had not played any survival horror action games since 2014. I bought these two and Iam having a great time.

One thing I would definitely say makes modern gaming worse from a AAA perspective is the amount of games coming out. PS5 has been out for years now but there's still only a small handful of worthwhile exclusive games for it, and Series S/X has like nothing still that's actually any good. Nintendo is the only one who have a decent library on the switch of exclusive titles even though many of them certainly are cookie cutter in nature.

I was thinking this as well. I've been wondering if I like games less. Most of the games I've been playing have been games i played as a kid, games i never played as a kid or games that ape the style of games i played as a kid. So i wondered whether i disliked modern games. I realised i seem to dislike modern AAA games. Grindy open world games just bore me. I enjoy a solid linear story drive game. Even if the story is basic. But these are few and far between nowadays (especially for someone like me on console) most of the modern games i enjoy have been indie. There's the occasional AAA game I enjoy but it's mainly been indie. I absolutely enjoy the Metro games, Cuphead, Aragami, Ion Fury, Evil West, Shadow Warrior and others. Doom, Wolfenstein, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry are really the only modern AAA games I'm into

I think what makes older titles better in some regards, is that they flourished with interesting ideas. Not well thought out ideas at some points, but a good premise. I think one game that REALLY proves my point is Cryostasis. It did MANY things that were new, fresh, and generally interesting additions, but the execution of certain mechanics left lots to be desired. I think AAA gaming could really do with more interesting ideas that just come from putting the best parts of one game into a different context, like "What if we made a COD campaign for Tarkov?" or "What if we decided to add Jojo Stands into a Quake-like?", stuff like that.

on the FPS is the one getting views.
thats a massive problem whit youtube.
I used to watch a chanel (channel stopped posting years ago).
and said channel made 2-3 kinds of video I was only interested in one of them (the other war car related) this was years ago so before youtube got weird.
and there is no function really to make it so that if your channel have more then one topic it does not just push to the subsciber the correct playlist so to speak.
the only real practical way is to make multiple TH-cam channels/account.
on the rant on the session pass.
we also have to remember that back then game was released full stop and then we usually got expansion packs (those been large, justifying filling a full CD/DVD, and most of them been good money for value).
also as someone that tried to play EU4 ones (the amount of DLC and content packs) are just insane.
back then you had the game then maybe 1-4 expansion packs (exlucing the game of the year edition that was just the base game plus 1 expansion and patches).
today you got the game and then 30 diffrent DLC packs. peaple was more intriged to buy the full size expasnions even if they was more expensive then a DLC because there was less of them and it was easier to keep track on what was needed (presuming that they was not released faster then the weekly allowance could tick up).

I think the main reason games suck so much nowadays is because of the poor state they release in anymore. Not only that, but they hype it up so much. To get you to preorder it.
So the reason modern gaming sucks is.
    1. The: "We'll fix it later" mentality.
    2. Raising everyones expectations through the roof to then just have them disappointed. Due to buggy launch, or lack of content. Which can be sighted back to the first point.
    3. Greedy Micro Transactions, sure crates and such were bad, but you could earn them, and they were cheaper. Nowadays we have skins and battle passes 15 dollars and up. Even in the case of COD over 20 dollars.
    4. This is just to sum it all up... Probably the biggest issue, and the root cause as to why games are now so shit. Games as a Service.

Easy way to tell if games were better back then: Just play an older game that's considered good. You'll find it's actually much better than any AAA slop today so indeed big games back then were better than today's big games.
However, smaller AA titles and indies are great even today.

Or some masterpieces didn't age quite as well as you had hoped / you looked at them through rose tinted glasses. Unreal Tournament 2004 is just as flawless today as it was back then, but Half Life 2 halting you dead in your tracks to spout exposition at you for 5 minutes... really isn't the best level design.

Loved this video. Your the best as always Jarek. Lately to be completely honest, I have been feeling the exact same way. Some games these days are as fun as any ever have been and some are so broken there completely unplayable. You're definitely right about life not being as enjoyable as we get older. I don't know what the solution is tbh. But I can definitely tell you that you're not alone in feeling how you do.

i always said that the golden age was between 1996-2011. yes we did have really bad games even back then, the problem simply the majority of game released now are just bad and below average. So when a game like elden ring get released. a above average game. people act like they never played any good game in their life and declare it's the best thing ever (i don't hate elden ring but you get my point). back then games were truly fighting for you to buy them. because like every game was really good. and a lot of gaming studios do go under if they fail and stuff. now a days mediocrity is rewarded and investment money is truly what pay for the game. they can keep releasing trash after trash because who cares about buying games. they will release trash next year and will not be go under or fired.
why stories are bad? empathy. why gameplay is incoherent and copy elements from everywhere. empathy and to add it to the marketing checkbox. why games look so similar and look like they are all made in the same factory of CGI mess like modern movies ? IT LOOK PRETTY NOW WHO CARES.

I guess the popularity of gaming in general created the ''marvel studio movie franchise'' games, very big budget, beautiful to look at but shallow so a lot of people can play it. The industry was more about passion back then, just look at EA, they were one of the greats with classic after classic then they got really really rich and boom, all over.

10:58 I understood and found the game Industria you mentioned but the subtitles say "adaka" is the 2nd game? I can't find that anywhere, I have tried all kinds of variations of that word on youtube and cannot find the game you are showing, I cannot find it on Steam. It does not seem to exist at all.
Edit: Ah it is spelled Adaca, I had to type in "industria and adaka" into youtube to find an older video you made about it.

These questions don't really affect me because I often don't care much about new releases, with the prices being so high where I live. When it comes the time and whatever game picks my interest, I go for it, otherwise, I'm kinda inside of a bubble.

We've been in a gaming drought for a while. I remember 2011 - 2012 sort of felt like it, even though there were banger games, nothing felt new or innovative except the graphics. If you ask me, higher ups need to have more faith and confidence in their dev teams to do things their way. And dev teams need to be given the time and ability to branch out, like how we've seen smaller budget titles from bigger companies blow up. Because they can't just work on the same triple A millions of dollar fps open world that EVERYONE literally expects, these devs wanna do something unique with their abilities and reap success from that too. Rest in peace Dice lol
