I use to teach high school in Pulaski, TN, and it was one of the best experiences of my teaching career, The students, whom were majority white, were some of the most respectable kids I have ever encountered. They worked for me, and caused me no problems, ever. The staff was Friendly, nice & very professional. I am a black woman, who enjoyed the school, city and it’s people.

Growing up and living in the south, I experienced the time of desegregation. There were few issues I experienced during this time. Mr. Jones was our new principle who was black. Mr. Jones was a very competent principle. He treated us all equally harsh when we got out of hand. I developed a great deal of respect for him and contribute his leadership in making my high school years one of the best periods of my life. I am in my 60s now and am well educated and traveled. I can say with a good deal of certainty that in the south today the extreme racist are few, and on the fringe of society. Unfortunately, I think this makes them more dangerous. On the other hand, much of the north is still segregated. Some may disagree, but it is the reality.
I think it's a mix, but you're mostly right. I think there is a tribal gene where people are OCD about identity, but I think that's a very small amount of the makeup of racist people. Probably just a lot of them that are like the dude from American History X where they see 1 scenario and start treating it as everyone from x group is bad and y group is inherently superior.

Some areas here are not accepting to other races moving there (suburbs). Crime is not low here anymore, it has changed alot since working on the department for 30 years.
I also live near Milwaukee. The local press reports daily murders and thefts committed by Black residents of Milwaukee's North Side. Many of those criminals come up to Milwaukee from Chicago's crime ridden South Side. Milwaukee is a town willing to "pay a fair day's wage for a fair day's labor". That includes ANYONE, Black or White. The problem is: The "Black Community" fosters criminals and murderers...not skilled labor or professionals. Milwaukee Blacks live in their cess pool ghetto because they don't earn enough to move up in the world. Milwaukee's "Black Community" is the source of their problem...NOT "White Racism".

In 2000, my company sent me to Florida for a training seminar. For this trip, I overstayed two hours in Georgia on top of my next flight being late. I got hungry and I went to a local eatery cafe in the airport. The cafe was busy but not too crowded. However, despite the many times I asked for a menu, I was ignored by the waitress. I decided to go to the bar to ask for a menu. The bar tender also ignored my request. I could not make sense of what was going on. A cleaning crew outside of the cafe saw me at the bar waiting to be attended to when a lovely old black lady signaled me to get out of the eatery. I approached her and asked her if she needed to talk to me. She responded, "You should not be there." I asked the lovely lady why? She said that the eatery was for whites only. They will not serve you because you are brown. She said, here is a bottle of water, and there is another cafe on the other side of the terminal where they serve anyone. Then she left. This was my first time in Atlanta, Georgia, experiencing white-hate racial discrimination because of the color of my skin. I never went back to that Confederate state.
Honolulu might, I repeat might, belong on this list, but not for the reasons stated in the video. I lived on Oahu for over a decade. The predominant ethnic groups in Honolulu, and the base of political power, are the Asian and Pacific Islander groups. Native Hawai'ians are a small portion of the population, but not when combined with the Samoans, Chamorro, and other islanders. The ethnic Japanese, Korean & Filipino populations are also quite large. And, each of these groups makes sure that lucrative government contracts go to their cousins & nephews. If you decide to employ one of the local B&Bs, you might actually contribute to the problem. When I moved away a few years ago, the trend was for native Hawai'ians to get a plot of land under the homelands program, theoretically for agricultural purposes. Instead, many put ramshackle rentals on the land. This was a way to get around the heavy resort property tax in Hawai'i, the one the large tourist outfits pay to maintain the roads in high density tourist areas. Instead, this moves tourist lodging to residential areas while ducking payment of taxes for infrastructure maintenance.
In Oahu there are the Hawaiian royalty; they usually dress in all black. I found some Hawaiians to be extremely rude. I stayed at an Air Force friend's apt. a couple of blocks from Waikiki Beach. My friend told me they refer to the Hawaiians as saltwater n*gg*s.
I was stationed on Oahu...the people don't like white people coming there and trying to run things...call it racism if you wNt .But when rents get raised because of whites .I whole heartedly support the hawains keeping the state from being overun by Howleys.

My Ohio town in the sixties. The town had big housing development because of a huge government facility. One black family. I asked him how he learned to repair furnaces. He said he had put the furnaces in all of these houses. Even a kid could see it, we couldn't live without him. The only black man in town.

I had the misfortune of living for two years in Jacksonville, Florida, when my company closed down the former main office in New Jersey and paid for me to relocate there. There were only 4 people in my department, and I was the only Jewish person. The black maintenance person had to paint over the racist and antisemitic graffiti, including swastikas, on a weekly basis in the bathroom that my department used. Furthermore, I had to drive past billboards going to work that were tagged with huge swastikas. I hated living there. Right after I moved, the mayor (who was actually quite a reasonable person) decided that black college students didn't have anywhere to go for Spring Break, so he thought it would be a great idea to turn Jacksonville into a 'destination' vacation spot for black universities. Cool idea, except that the students discovered when they got there, that the police and residents were not quite as welcoming as the mayor, and they spoke up about how terribly they were treated. BTW, there is racism EVERYWHERE. When I was a high school student, I attended a summer science symposium at Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland Ohio. I expected (and mostly met) some really smart students there from all over the country. Unfortunately, I also met this one white kid who bragged that when he got home, he would prove to his father that he wasn't afraid to shoot 'n*****s'. I CERTAINLY did not want him to ever find out I was Jewish. Obviously, I kept my distance. Also, while growing up in suburban New York, I witnessed a race riot IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I had no idea just how racist my neighbors were, until one family decided to move out and rumor had it that he was selling his house to a black family (note that most people probably never realized that we already had a black family living there -- I only knew because I was part of the literary magazine at my high school, and they guy was a talented dancer and poet and actually was the editor of the literary magazine. Anyway, one of my good old neighbors threw a brick through a window of the family's house, and either the same or different person vandalized their car by slashing the tires. My family has always been very liberal, and my dad (who actually had been honored by a church in Harlem for representing them in a case) decided to go out and confront the people who were rioting and tried to calm them down. I was watching the whole thing through my bedroom window, afraid for what might happen. Soon, they did quiet down and everyone went home. But I never saw our neighbors again in the same way.

That sucks I live in the Jacksonville metro area and I feel pretty comfortable hanging out with people outside my race. I heard the police aren't too fond of blacks in low income areas. I'm so sorry to hear you had to deal with that as a Jewish man.
I'm not surprised Fresno is on this list. For years while our mayor (who is a known child predator) was chief of police we were one of the worst cities with police brutality. Now that we have a new Chief our police force has been changed significantly. Unfortunately we still have a council member by the name of Garry Bredefeld, who represents North Fresno where all the wealth is, who constantly undermines any attempt that the rest of the council makes to the lower-income areas mentioned. It's not just west Fresno either, parts of East Fresno or just as bad. The worst part which thankfully has been fixed was when white supremacist groups we're trying to take over the Tower district during the pandemic, and were supported by the council member whose name I mentioned.
I’d say they needed to place Clovis on this list, more so than Fresno. As a teenager I remember the saying, “if the signs are brown, turn around”😂😂 Referring to the street signs turning from green (Fresno) to brown (Clovis).
.....because race is NOT skin deep. White people need to take back the West from jewish supremacy. White people deserve to have their own space. Only White countries are being flooded with other races. Who is behind it? JEWS!
forcing people to truly like other people is stupid. for thousands of years, there have been groups that dislike each other. it's human nature. while things can be improved, some people want too much. Just like fat and trannie people say its prejudiced not to date them, blacks say the same thing. It'll never be enough for some people.
Barstow Ca. should be on this list. Me & my brother were traveling home from San Diego in 1978 & our bus stopped in Barstow so the passengers could eat dinner. After everyone was served, a waitress came to our table & asked me & my brother to take our food outside because non-whites weren't allowed in the restaurant. We said nothing & took our food outside as asked. The rest of our bus companions were so disgusted by the diners employees they brought their food out too, & ate with us.
I am a military brat and now spouse, and of all the places i have lived ( South and North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Oregon, Colorado) to name a few and Oklahoma is the ONLY place that I have experienced racism so frankly in my face. Going to a nail salon in Tulsa and at a grocery store in Broken Arrow! It is still appalling to me and it I am still in shock how many people allow it and see it, but say nothing. Even a police officer showed his true colors 😢.
Yes, it is truly disgusting that someone who doesn't even know you will hate you and even wish you harm purely for the color of your skin or what religion you wish to follow, just remember, those people are leading themselves into an early grave because hate and anger are very hard on the body and studies have shown that those people usually die up two decades before their counterparts who are more of the live and let live types of people. Just keep on trucking, you'll always find those of us that don't give what package you come in as long as you're a good human being. Peace
It's funny because the people who "experience" all the racism are typically loud mouth jerks that blame the hate on other people's skin color. I'll bet you are an obnoxious person who "tells it like it is or "keeps it real" and you brag about both.
@@christophermack9189 "those people are leading themselves into an early grave". No, sorry, it doesn't work that way. Ol' Ross Barnett was nearly 90 when he died - and other than being hard of hearing, just had the usual problems that go with old age. Lester Maddox was 87. George Wallace was about 80 - but had some gunshots to help him along. I did not know the latter two, but I doubt that Maddox ever changed his positions. I'm positive that Barnett didn't, but he wasn't a hateful man.
That just means victims in the NE are better at reporting hate crimes. Many victims in the South are afraid to report. In my Georgia town, many of the cops were also in the KKK.

My thoughts too lol!
Speaking as a Bostonian of course not a black man this comes up all the time 😊 but according to friends of mine both black. They think often times it's never mentioned it because it seems to go by neighborhood. In Boston is very neighborhood territorial. And they also seem to include not in on Boston but near Boston communities like Cambridge Somerville. So I think it just gets chopped up by neighborhood more. And that's why it somehow the city gets away from not getting the label .
Because liberals think they are not racists 😮
Do you mean that 100% democrat controlled Hell hole ?
I've lived in the South most of my life. (Born in Tennessee) True there are still some racists in the South...but we're trying to improve. Yet it wasn't until I lived in Rhode Island for a few years that I heard one of the worst racist things ever....I will not repeat it. It was that bad. My point: racism is everywhere, not just in the South. And not all offenders are white. Asians, Blacks, Latinos, Whites...all have their racists. So ridiculous.

Who is commiting the crimes?
I also live near Milwaukee. The local press reports daily murders and thefts committed by Black residents of Milwaukee's North Side. Many of those criminals come up to Milwaukee from Chicago's crime ridden South Side. Milwaukee is a town willing to "pay a fair day's wage for a fair day's labor".

I have a lot of experience in this area. I can say with the possible exception of a tiny town or 2, I can tell you Wshington DC is by far the most racist city in the US.
white folk think it is a mostly black town, though.
I am glad to hear that youth are taking the lead in many places to end racism. I believe that racism is taught and encouraged from home.

Taught Racism from a LOWER class of people
14:00 Um, why does the logo for the group “Rid Racism Milwaukee” look like two people giving each other the Nazi salute? Is this a joke?!?!? Was the graphic artist that designed that on some sort of bath salts?

As a teenager I remember the saying, “if the signs are brown, turn around”😂😂 Referring to the street signs turning from green (Fresno) to brown (Clovis).

forcing people to truly like other people is stupid. for thousands of years, there have been groups that dislike each other. it's human nature. while things can be improved, some people want too much.

Georgia sounds like a great place to live
Peace
Oklahoma sucks.
It was the beer that made Milt Fammy walk us..
I live very close to Pulaskie Tennessee . Home of the K.K.K but the South East is less likley to have a hate Crime than the North East . True . 😢
That just means victims in the NE are better at reporting hate crimes. Many victims in the South are afraid to report. In my Georgia town, many of the cops were also in the KKK.
My parents (retired military and retired RN) live 10 minutes south of Pulaski, TN in Limestone county AL. We're a black family and my Mom loves the Walmart in Pulaski. yep the real racists are the rich northerners in states like Maine, New Hampshire, Montana and Washington all liberal states and those states also have the lowest number of blacks working in the federal, state or local governments. Texas has black cops, doctors, lawyers, and politcians. Washington and Maine have never elected a black person to a high-level position at least during the 20 years I lived there.
