Robbie pretty much nails it.... Let's not forget the 2023 schedule was very Big 12 friendly.. No Texas Schools, K state, BYU and KU at home.. perfect storm.. Never as good as when it's great.. Never as awful as when it's bad...
Hey Scott, appreciate you checking out the podcast, and greatly you appreciate you hopping on the that Friday when it all went down. You absolutely nailed the entire thing with your knowledge of how BoR meetings work and the process that was going on.
My OU friends always pick on Gundy saying he's what's wrong with OSU. When I show them how the program has improved they say, "Well he's no Jimmy Johnson." LOL! I show them that JJ isn't even in the top 5 winningest coaches at OSU. They only hate on Gundy because he is successful, speaks his mind, and we like him for the most part. I hope this all works out - it's got to!
Biggest concern now is getting not one or two but a bunch of good players from the portal. We lost a lot of good players so I am hoping this new staff do their job. Casey you think they are waiting for bowl games to be over? I would think this time can be used to get some studs from high school at least no?
I think Coach Gundy wanted to get the hiring process done first. That way, when he gets all the coaches assembled, they can put an organized and cohesive plan together in terms of the recruiting strategy.
I believe we have great kids here already. Yes, we need to get a few players here and there, but we also have to cut down to 105 players from like 140.
For sure. It's hard to go backwards when a little success comes your way. National champ trophy holders have it worse from their fans before the chips are even down.
Gundy could hire Kirby Smart for DC, Tom Brady for OC, and Deion Sanders for Recruiter and the fanbase would call every hire weak and say "its gonna be a long season." If bowl games dont matter anymore, then what reason exists for any coach anywhere to keep a team going after taking that 2nd loss? Maybe Gundy was a genius and knew this squad wasnt playoff caliber so he just threw in the towel early to get ready for next season and that Week 2 game.
Loved listening to the podcast. Good seeing and hearing two coaches I have coached with. - Coach Dearing

Every post game presser last year we heard “we got out coached/out schemed” so Gundy either had to make wholesale changes or step down.
Hopefully, We will be better!
Can't get any worse. Lol
I get so sick of the people who say he is trying to tank Oklahoma state. Those are not true fans in my book.
Coach Gundy has spent his College years and almost his entire adult life at OSU. I just will never buy that he would intentionally harm this place.

💯
I'm excited for next year and will be until there isn't a reason to be
Is Walsh still part of the support staff?
Not sure, I think we're gonna have to wait and see how the dust settles now with the unlimited coaches rule.
@@OStateDaily Saw that former OU coach, Kevin Johns, might join OSU's staff to coach QBs. is that what you've heard?
Yes, QBs
Spot on, gentlemen
Thanks Scott

Right
Unfortunately, with more success in football, has come more ou-type complainers
Agreed, good point Scott
