- The song has been played on every corner of the earth. Hip-Hop head Tac Robinson was not familiar with the name RAMONES, but the song itself seems to have seeped deep into many facets of our culture. He we see Tac get his first look at The RAMONES through an iconic live performance and he gets a taste of what it was like to see history made on New Year's Eve at the Rainbow Theater in London in 1977.

Good call Tac. The Ramones were very heavily influences by The Beatles and Elvis Presley/ They said so in a couple of interviews. I got to see them live three times, always a killer show. Top Five:Deep Purple Made In Japan.
Made In Japan is some serious music, and Deep Purple is great live. The last time I saw them was about 8 years ago and they sounded great. (I love bands like DP or he Grateful Dead that make heavy use of Leslie speakers at live shows. It give it such a full and unique sound.) -Doc

Glad ya liked it! Oddly enough, the rollerskating overall wearin' gang from the Warriors were called "The Punks", so I just found it to be fitting imagery to use since it was from the same general era. As for Electric Ladyland... I think it would just make life better all around if everyone was just given a copy of it at birth. -Doc

Must’ve heard this song 100 times; loved it as a kid. But must admit I don’t know most of the lyrics either 😂 fun to react along to this live performance though, don’t think I’ve seen any live clips of them

The entire show from this concert was released on video and as live album called "It's Alive". My suggestion to every person on the planet: "Go watch this" :)

Where the f**k is the rawness of music these days??!! Ramones, we miss you.
These days, it can be tough to find that rawness, especially in a sea of all these corporate style festival shows. Luckily you can still find it in some hole in the wall dive-club sometimes... the exact same kinda place where we found all these great bands back in the day. But now days people seem to only want to go to massive shows and hear 50 (or more) bands play the same songs they played 40 years ago. Unfortunately, the rise of political correctness and over-sensitivity has worked directly against the rawness of any sort of rock music over the years. (Which I find odd, because in the case of Hip-Hop, it is the inverse.) -Dr. Smith

When I first read this, it occurred to me how long it had been since I had listened to this (and immediately put it on). Good call! "At Fillmore East" was amazing, and while the Ramones double album contained 28 songs, the Allman Brothers does it in only 7. Quite the contrast -Doc
