why everyone hates on this car., yes the design hasn't changed since 2011 but still is on the best selling sedans of vw and all around the world, i want this car
...Wow, what a bunch on complainers in the comment section. I like this car! The styling is very conservative, though the sides could do with some chrome or plastic trim. The interior is very nice and looks like something you'd find on a higher priced car, and it has a lot of options for the price. I don't see what everyone is complaining about.
+Jim Dayton thats it jim, i think its a case of 'you cant please all of the people all the time', there will be trolls no matter what. moving on, this is one of the best car reviews i have seen. very crisp clear camera footage (rivalling some high end music videos), factual information, and very in depth. well done Saabkyle04, keep up the great work, i am now subscribed. i happen to own the 2014 version of this car, but it is called the '147 tsi highline' in australia, might be akin to the gli in the usa?, has the 2.0 tsi engine. i cant fault it, proper leather interior, very punchy engine, loaded with alot of features you would otherwise find on more expensive cars. in my part of the world, vw's are the smart mans audi, as you are getting audi quality for camry-ish money.
+Richi Camacho Idk if its because youve only see it in videos but the 2015+ Jettas like like slightly different Audi A4s, especially the tail lights and has that $30k+ German sedan presence while starting under $20k. If you think the Corolla looks better than this version of the Jetta youre a lost soul in the car enthusiast world.. Also in a fun-to-drive factor, the 1.8t and sport tuned suspension make the Jetta far more fun than anything the Corolla and Civic have to offer, and matches the Civic Si's of pre-2016. Also why not the Passat? Because like you said thats $4k more! To some people thats a lot of money for really just a bigger Jetta. For 4k more why not a GLI/GTI?
I have the SEL in Grey with the Bi Xenon lighting. I love the way they look with the Xenon and LED lights. They look upscale without being flashy. I can be doing 80-90 and it feels like I’m doing 50-60. It’s very comfortable and fun to drive. The only downfall is that it definitely doesn’t handle the same way my mk5 Jetta handled. The steering is better, but the suspension is definitely tuned more towards comfort. However it’ll still take those twisties very well. With the brake actuated eletronic “limited slip”, you can round a corner going quickly and you can feel the inside wheel pull you in. It’s not a real limited slip front end but for day to day driving and some twisties, it handles the job well. In terms of being a commuter it doesn’t everything good. My recommendation? Get the 1.8T and slap a Stage 1 APR on it. It feels like a GT car. It’s comfortable and quick while still managing close to 38 MPG at 70 MPH. The SEL does a good job of giving you easy to use features, and a driving experience that doesn’t leave you stressed. 90k miles on mine and it’s still as tight as when I bought it.
I dont understand people bitching about this car, this is your normal, city car for daily use, what do you expect? it isn't a Mercedes s class.... if you want something fantastic with awesome features, prepare your wallet and about 70K dollars.
+TheGetawayer Hallo Guido!
The video/presentation quality is top notch! When I bought my hyundai accent(2010) I watched one of your video to see if I'd like the interior. Keep up the awesome work!
I just got a very similar one! 1.4 instead of 1.8. I love my red color and the awesome heated seats and the radio shows the name of the songs and artists.Btw Saabkyle my son used to watch your channel for hours when he was 5-6. Hes 12 now and still loves VWs. He was able to tell all the models apart at a young age cause of your channel.
yoyoluc I don't understand why car manufacturers don't outfit all their cars with dual notes. A horn is much better heard when it's dual note. The low tone tends to get drowned out in the background noise because of it's lower frequency.
LOL'd at the people hating on the car in the comments. It's just a basic car. It's designed to get 5 people and their stuff to where they want to go in reasonable comfort and with reasonable fuel economy. It's not a Ferrari. It's a Volkswagen, "people's car".
I love how all of you are complaining about its interior and yet it looks sooo much nicer than standard accords and Mazda 6 which don't offer as much tech nor custom rims. the 1.8L sport edition has both of these.
I purchased my Jetta SEL TSI a few months ago with low miles and only paid in the mid teens. I looked at a comparable Honda Civic and it would have been at least 20k. It is a perfect size city car and the 1.8t has some very nice torque. and gets decent mileage. It really is a poor man's Audi.

I am a car hauler , I personally dont own a car, and sometimes I rent cars for fun and I felt in love with the 2016 passat 1.8 turbo , it looks old but who cares.
Why is there still no storage package behind the driver's side? I have the 2011 VW Jetta and looking @ this 2016 Jetta I'm curious why Volkswagen still hasn't added one? Anyone have an answer?!
I rented a 2015 Jetta when I flew into Seattle, and drove to Vancouver, Canada, and felt the Jetta was a small car. I'm 6'2" and felt crammed. The seats were uncomfortable, everything about the interior, I felt like was suitable for a 5'6" person. I have a '14 Beetle and it's more roomy and comfy.
Saabkyle04, once again a very comprehensive review, not quite as good of a view of the suspension, as others you've done though. This is a nice looking car, but I have a few gripes. The side marker lights, only actually light a tiny part, this is important to me because, I avoided a broad side collision with a 1980's style Chevy Blazer, because I was able to see the bright front side marker light, through some bushes at dusk. My 2000 jetta has this same color interior, but mine has very pretty velour seats and door arm rests, something very few new cars with cloth have. My Jetta 1.8L Turbo with 76,000 miles, has been a very unreliable car, it's been excellently maintained, yet it's needed (fuel injectors, throttle body, mass airflow sensor, secondary air pump, bent R CV axle, valve cover gasket, new cam adjuster seals, O2 sensor, thermostat, broken seat adjuster, broken glove box), all in it's costed 4,960 dollars, and the engine light is still on. No, I would't buy another Jetta.
Pretty nice Jetta and top trim. Okay so I have never driven a car with electric power steering and I have mixed feelings about its feel transmitted to the driver. How is the feel compared to hydraulic power steering? Appreciate it in advance.

How are the 2014 and never jettas for reliability? Everyone says they are junk and break all the time but I've looked at reviews and they seem to have higher consumer satisfaction then cars like the ford focus. These things seem to win over the Corolla in small overlap crash tests and I like the styling better. Just not into going bankrupt maintaining it lol.
Wow, I see a ton of exclusions from the Canadian Jetta. Our top of the line car has Xenon headlights, Dual Zone Climate Control, Full Power Front seats, and more stuff that isn't available on the US car. Odd.
bigvirgotube I see a fair amount. Mostly 2011's and newer. Theres about the same amount of Jettas on the road than there are Cruze's and Focus'. And yep. The Rondo has been a pretty great success. I think they're alright. Decent mileage, lots of space and pretty reliable. But theres much more minivans on the road than Rondo's.
Agreed, the Canadian Jettas have more features, which is kind of odd if you ask me. Anyways, the Volkswagen Jetta is still a great car and it's one of the best new cars money can buy.
hello, like the review so much, lot of useful info, btw did you ever make a review of an todays non US spec cars ? f.e. 2015/16 Škoda Superb. Greeting from Slovakia)
It appears that everybody is feeling the way I feel about this car. It doesn't really symbolize 2016 much. The refresh is kinda blah. For some reason I get a 2007-09 vibe with this. Idk why though. They should of put wayyy better rims on this.
+Reptilian you forgot that there are EU viewers as well, because Jetta (Passat) is quite popular in EU, because it's roomy enough, looks decent and most of all is fuel efficient (the diesel version).
+Reptilian Kyle didn't get to this point by just reviewing supercars, but by reviewing everything and anything he could get his hands on, and do a detailed, yet simple and honest review regardless of the quality of the car. A lot of people are watching these reviews in order to get a first person view of the car before BUYING IT, yes BUYING IT. And then you have 14 year olds like you, who just want to satisfy their fantasies and watch supercars that you'll probably never own.
alen simple Well, if I'm 14 years old, I'm looking to get a car, and this video might help., Sorry, but I didn't sub to this channel to see a boring ass Volkswagen Jetta.
why everyone hates on this car., yes the design hasn't changed since 2011 but still is on the best selling sedans of vw and all around the world, i want this car

bigvirgotube I'd say compact suv's and compact sedans are the biggest hits in Canada. Every 3rd vehicle on the road here is a small SUV
bigvirgotube I see a fair amount.
Hey man, could you do a mk4 jetta video?
German engineering I have a jetta and I love it!
hello, like the review so much, lot of useful info, btw did you ever make a review of an todays non US spec cars ?
I think this is the last car anyone wants to see.
+Reptilian No, no the nissan juke is.
+Reptilian you forgot that there are EU viewers as well, because Jetta (Passat) is quite popular in EU, because it's roomy enough, looks decent and most of all is fuel efficient (the diesel version).

So you would rather see this over a supercar? Dude, if you want a review on this car, there are plenty of sites.

Well, if I'm 14 years old, I'm looking to get a car, and this video might help., Sorry, but I didn't sub to this channel to see a boring ass Volkswagen Jetta.
Can you try to do a 2016 Shelby GT350?
Can you pls review the new bmw 3 series diesel? Thx
