Hi Austin. I keep my needles forever too. I've had some for years and they are still good. I have some more expensive ones and the cheaper ones and I think that they are about the same.
Hello Austin yes you have certainly been missed you bring so much joy to your followers 😊, I’m so pleased to meet Chico hope we get to see him a lot more ❤ your stitching is looking great, please come back soon, stay safe and well, happy stitching best wishes from 🇬🇧
You crack me up!! I love watching your videos! I'm not sure if there are needles out there that won't discolor, but as of late, I've been using the Pony Black needles, and they have completely lost their coating. Of course, I'm like you and use my needles forever, lol.
Thank you Austin for your video. Sorry I missed this one, in the bright side I have had the pleasure of your company for 2 videos. I use Tulip and Bohin needles and use them for ages. I very rarely change them. I use Tulip needles for beading as I make jewellery, they are strong don't lose colour and have a handy tube to keep them in. Happy stitching from the UK.
I was so happy to see that you had a new video to watch 🤩. You are a joy to watch & listen to. Your storytelling is such that I can visualize exactly what you’re saying, and so funny! And you singing that hymn was touching😍. I enjoy your stitchy progress too 😉. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Thanks for sharing with us. Blessings!
Great to see you Austin. Ive been checking every day waiting for your next video. You made me LOL so much today. And your beautiful furbaby being part of the action was so wholesome. Love how he just lay there like " yeah, its me and Im gonna sit right here" 😂 love your stories and your projects. You brighten my day ❤
Welcome back! Of course you were missed! Loved your fish tank story. I’ve been thinking about a beta fish in a small tank but afraid to kill them since I’ve tried it before. Yup me too, dive head first into a new hobby with everything you could need. I change my needles if they break or turn rusty I love DMC needles specially for the small counts 45 cnt. You can try John James or Bohin needles but at some point they can rust too. Maybe you need gold needles but I think they lose color. If you’re trying linen, know that you have a cheering squad but if you stay with Aida, that cheering squad is still there. Take care until the next time…..
Oh. My. Word! Austin! I was just taking a sip of my coffeemilk when you said about the fish populating, and I ALMOST sprayed coffeemilk all over my iPad!! 🤣🤣 it was just by the grace of God that I was able to hold it in!!! 😮😅 Thanks for making my day with laughter! Meline 5:29 PS - you have a beautiful singing voice! ❤
Good to see you and Chico! You are a great storyteller. I enjoyed your tank story. My sons have had multiple tanks in varying sizes. They are a thorn in my side 😂
Austin, you are an absolute joy to watch! You made my night when your video popped up. I do so enjoy seeing your gorgeous stitching and listening to your stories. You are such an enabler. I love the architecture of old houses, especially old Victorian houses. Am definitely going to have to hunt that Queen Anne Victorian (Me: Dear, I know what i want for Christmas this year. My wife: Ok love. Just tell me the name of the pattern/designer and if it's a kit or if you'll be needing floss/beads and what count/color of linen). Hey Mr. Chico, you are absolutely adorable!
Your video is awesome. I did the same thing with my fish tank many times when I was younger & I also put in guppies. My parents finally told me to leave the fish tank for a whole month. Let me tell you waiting a whole month to put fish in the tank was long. We finally had a great fish tank in the end. Love your projects. Happy Stitching.
Austin - you and your cat are hilarious!! I literally laughed out loud. You are a natural at this and your stitching is wonderful. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. Question - where did you get the fabric holders/magnets with the hands? P.S. - love your accent.
I’m just going to say. I’m an accountant and I CANNOT count by or over 2!!!! Lol. I’ve tried evenweave and linen and for my sanity I will have to stick to Aida. Lol!
Another brilliant floss tube Austin. And catkin and Lillie has just posted a video about needles ( I haven't watched it yet ). You always me laugh.😂😅😊x
Hi Austin, enjoying all your podcasts! Please tell me how many strands of floss you are using on your 26 count Victorian House piece. I really don't want to use 3 as recommended.....
Chico has a cute meow. I am also a, “go big, or go home” type of mentality and it has bitten me on my keister many times! PS: I prefer Bohin, Tulip Hiroshima Tapestry, Piecemakers and John James needles. I also use my needles forever.
@nerdystitcher, I agree with your needle recommendations..the only ones I haven’t tried are the Tulip needles…and I also use my needles forever! 😊 Meline 16:35
I love Piecemakers brand as my #1 but also use John James as a runner up. Changing needles I am told is important but I am guilty of forgetting. Love your channel from the Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee! Would love to see your wip progress on IG if you have an account. 🪡🧵🧡

Cajun turkey sounds delicious! 🦃
I love black pepper and Cajun turkey. We get a regular delivery from Rajun Cajun. Their box mixes are the bomb!

Hi Austin, enjoying all your podcasts! Please tell me how many strands of floss you are using on your 26 count Victorian House piece. I really don't want to use 3 as recommended.....
I hardly ever use three strands. I find it very bulky. I almost always use two strands. - Austin
Good to know, thanks!@@kitchenofstitching
The masking tape along the edges will leave a yellow stain on your fabric that will never come out. I had it happen to me so I stopped using it.
Sorry that happened to you. I’ve been using masking tape along the edges of my cross stitch for over 35 years and that’s never happened to me.
