Way to stay calm & resolve the issue. I've had 2 of these which both ended like yours did. Several of my friends experienced them on Gangsters, freaked out, & chopped before ever popping the brakes. Well done. 👏
Alex, I had to get the slider out of the way to see what the problem was. Once I saw it was a tension knot I popped the opposite toggle to take pressure of the knot then popped the toggle on the knot side.
I just had one like this, but I couldn't get level under the wing. I couldn't stop the spin with burying the opposite rear riser, brakes stowed. How did you manage to get level under the wing with your brakes still stowed?

risers... they work way better... careful or you could stall it out and helecopter it.
