Good video. I just started looking at a square filter deck for my film work. You didn't mention whether any color filters are available, such as a yellow or red filter for black and white work. Edit: I forgot to mention that I use K&F adapters to mount legacy glass on my Sony A7Sii and my Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. Their build quality is top shelf and a demonstration that the Chinese companies *can* build good equipment.

Allan, at 18:59 there is one other reason to use an ND filter, that is to increase your aperture, like in LF cameras, to allow minimum dof, so you can use movements to selectively focus an object; you need the filter to keep exposure in bright light, lower the light, so the aperture can get opened up more, at expense of shutter speed, but on a tripod it doesn't matter.
at 19:28 the filter is called a 'center filter' for LF wide-angle lenses, it addresses the exposure variance in the field of view, to equalise the brightness, if light rays come from extreme angles of the field of view( esp. at certain f-stops).
My set arrived this morning; thank you for the useful (& droll) review. It arrived with a few screws in a bag: Do you know what they’re for? Any long-term use updates?

I bought this system after I watched a different review and what kills me is that in both cases the CPL system is tested indoors. And yeah, you guessed it right - the CPL have little to none polarization effect. Nice job!
Hi, Thanks for the detailed information......big question for me please, can this 100mm by 100mm square filter holder fit on a 95mm lens opening? I have a Sigma telephoto 150-600mm. I know that there are not many circular ND filters that big......that's why the square attracted my attention. Thanks for your help. DK
Hi Danny, I am afraid not. The largest adapter ring is 82mm. I am sure you could use a 95 to 82 step down ring and get it physically mounted, but whenever you do something like that you end up with vignetting. ***late entry*** I just tried it with my Tamron 600mm, also a 95mm filter ring. Just happened to have a step-down to 82, but it does obstruct the corners. Sorry about that.
Yes indeed unless you mean without the frame - any 100x100 or 100x150, 3mm glass filters will fit the removable frame but I do not know if a plain filter will. I am guessing that yes, they should. The frame adds very little thickness and the retaining clips are nice and tight. I will check it for sure tomorrow and if they do not fit, I will get back to you.
Very informative video. I have ordered the same set but they have been delayed in China for a variety of reasons/excuses. However, they seem to be on the move through the courier system now so hopefully I will get them soon. I am sure this set of three ND filters + CPL will serve me well but if I expand my horizons, do you know if K&F supply graduated filters using the same holder system?
Yes, they have a growing selection of graduated filters with several transition types and densities. I expect the range of 100×100 filters to increase steadily over the coming months. If you have any particular filter in mind, let me know when I will pass that on to K&F.
Do you really find the thumbwheel an easier way to turn the polarizer? I'm just so used to turning the front element... First video I can recall seeing where i don't get a glimpse of your nice Submariner. :)
I didn't at first, but after using it for a few weeks I don't know how I ever got by without it - OK, that was an exaggeration (New Year's resolution - no exaggerating), but I do like it - not quite up to sliced bread or automatic transmissions, but pretty cool!

Just wondering, since you have so much time on your hands (😉 - I did watch your presentation on extreme macro photography and how long it takes you to prepare, setup, shoot, and process), you had mentioned a device to use when shooting butterflies. I’ve fooled around with a few, but would be interested in seeing what you came up with. Will you be sharing that anytime soon? Also, I ordered a Nikon stereo microscope (spending the kids inheritance), both to prepare and pose specimens, and also just to be curious with. Our kids & grandkids honestly don’t think we’ve quite lost it yet. Jokes on them!
I would much rather inherit a Nikon microscope than a mobility scooter or e-z-up chair. You are a caring and responsible grandparent. (PM me for my details if they turn their noses up at the 'scope).
Hi Hank - yes - the butterfly box - it is more of a learning aid that a creative tool. I designed it to get people thinking about lighting angles and directions more accurately to bring out the best in scales, especially on wings. I was going to do it before the new year but I was having so much fun with Covid, I didn't get to it. But I am going to do so soon. This is probably the only month of the year that you CANNOT find a butterfly around here, and I need one for the video, so I may have to buy one and as soon as I do, I will get the video done!
People who watch are looking for a way to see the product either before it gets delivered and they wanna "unwrap the gift and peek". Or, they are looking for different features etc before they buy and compare. Alternatively some are also just weird like me.
I too Allan really struggle with why anyone would want to watch an unboxing video. I mean is their life so pathetic that watching a box being opened gives them a buzz. I mean come on people really.
Allan, I am sorry to say that I feel cheated. You did not show the part where you took the lid off the box and I expect to be informed about the quality of the cardboard, including surface texture and the actual thickness of the packaging. You also failed to sniff it. I didn't have you down as an amateur - pull your socks up before it's too late.

This kit is 400 cad. Hought it would be more affordable. Ill stick with the magnetic round ones at 200 cad.
