Giving this video a like because this is my favorite content from you!! Seriously, it was such a treat to see this pop up and have a good video to watch while I get dishes done. You’ve given me more books for my TBR so thanks 🤩
One book I’ve read and will never forget is The Only Girl in the World by Maude Julien. It’s a heart-wrenching memoir about a girl who is mercilessly trained by her parents who have the goal of making her “super-human” or “the next stage of evolution”. I remember fantasizing about swooping in to rescue this poor girl when I read the book as a young adult. It’s one of those books that, as you said, makes you count your blessings.
Either les miserables or anna karenina, both inspired by you. Thank you for getting me back into reading, I've missed it a lot. I've always been intimidated by classics but oh man I'm absolutely loving them!!!
My personal favorites of the year were East of Eden which I read at the same time as my husband (but we read it separately) so we were able to talk about it. I hated it and loved it at the same time. I also loved Middlemarch which I understood better after watching the miniseries and listening to Sarah Clarkson talk about it on her Patreon.
Oh I really love this list. My favorite book of the year was Flatland. I only read about 20 books which is sad but 2023… this upcoming year I’m hoping is a more peaceful year with more time to read.
A book our whole family has enjoyed this year via audible was Gary D. Schmidt's The Labors of Hercules Beal. So great! I want to read more of his books this year.
My favorite books this year were: Parables of the Cross by Lilias Trotter Captivating by Jon and Stasi Eldredge CPTSD from Striving to Thriving I'm not Crazy I'm Codependent My 7 year old daughter's: Mary Jones Bible Treasures in the Snow Milly, Molly Mandy Stuart Little My husband: Boundaries Narcissists playbook Littles favorites: Hudson Talbotts King arthur books Billie Brown books Brown bear brown bear Squire and the Scroll Heroes for Young Readers series
I didnt read as much as i wanted but deep nutrition was a big game changer for me this year. I also enjoyed whalebone theatre and the meaning of mariah carey. I also liked a couple YA books the way i used to be and if he had been with me. The YA ones hit me harder.
Hey Karen... you look oddly familiar...as in... we got coffee in Marietta, GA in 2009 and then life happened and here we are 13 years later. 😂 Yes? Also, my favorite book I read this year was "Loving your spouse when you feel like walking away" (I'm a couples therapist...research. 🤓)
@karenrodriguezinfo HOORAY!!! It is you!!!! You have no idea how long I've been looking for you!! Your book binding video randomly came into my feed today, and I was like "UHHHHHHH I THINK I KNOW HER!" I just found your website, so I'll email you at the address there! :)
A court of Thrones & Roses is in my GoodReads want to read list! Have you read The Inheritance Games? I’m about to start that series & it looks like a fun read!
You order an expresso iced (size doppio) with an extra shot (total of 3 blonde roast shots). Add-ins ice, in a venti cup, with your choice of cold foam and a splash of oat milk and splash of almond milk.
Les Miserables is hands down the best fiction i've ever read. A bit lengthy with descriptions of the time period, which is common for Hugo's writings, but the story and the main character - wow! just leaves you speechless👍
Great suggestions. My goal is to read more too

I really liked The Threee Christmases of William Spencer. It is short but very good.

I really enjoyed reading aloud the first three books of A Wrinkle In Time series to my preteen and teen daughters this year.

20 is not sad. It's more than the average of what people read in a year, so good job!
What a fabulous list! I have added most of the non-fiction to my tbr now!
Hey Karen, how are you? Happy New Year, and blessings to you and your family.
Happy New Year!
Rain of Gold by Victor Villaseñor, a book that helped me understand my Hispanic heritage and what it was like for those who immigrated to the US.
Oh that sounds great!
