i was long term anorexic and i am now bmi 18? at 174 I eat 2400 accordingly to nivola rinaldi and just keep doing it, even with home-days...i had addiction to fitbit and was down to bmi 12 a few years ago....does it fit?
Hi Nora, it's a complex terrain when discussing eating disorders. Ensuring adequate protein intake 1.2-1.6g/kg/day is key to protecting muscle and then ratcheting up energy from carbs/fats to support daily energy needs is a good starting point. (Of course, for specific medical questions, please ask your doc).
Dr bubbs out of interest what were your thoughts on the constrained energy model theory? I currently walk 25-30k steps a day mostly as I have an active job and my calorie maintenance is high for my body weight so in my opinion the walking is playing a part in my expenditure I think if I went from walking 25k steps to say 10k then I would probably have to decrease my calorie intake
Hi Jon, great question. A good place to start is how much walking do you 'like' to incorporate in your day? (Is 25-30k a challenge? Would you feel better at 10-15k). If you've been walking at that clip for awhile, your body will have adjusted, so it shouldn't have much of an effect. That said, as people move more their eating practices change (often subconsciously) which can benefit when more active, and derail when dialing things back. As long as you're aware of it, you should be ok. Best of luck!
Hi Jon, track your BW and body composition and then tinker with it. If you're getting leaner, you're in an energy deficit. If not, you're eucaloric. In practice, it can be that simple (despite the science being incredibly complex!)
The book is saying you do not have to reduce your calories and that your walking is making no difference to your weight. I think the book is a slight gimmick as I think it is obvious to most people that 25k steps a day will burn calories that can not be replaced by a more efficient calories burned metabolism.
I have a very high metabolinen rate (too high). If i get it loer, i will loose weight. If i eat meat, it will rise. I have notisg, that the more i move around, the higher m. Rate is. I think we don’t have enough nap times. The tribes don’t have clocks. And because of your body chanses staff So much, it has too much to do, you get tried etc. The meat protein is not easy for metabolism.
Hi Lily, thanks for sharing. Typically, the higher the metabolic rate, the more calories you burn, and the more easily one would lose weight. Protein typically helps this process as the thermic effect of food (TEF) is 3-4 fold higher than carbs/fats. It's always a challenge to tease all these things out when you're reviewing your own situation... might be helpful for you to work with a practitioner in your area. Thanks for watching!
Best interview with him that I've watched. 👌
Thank you.
I am halfway through the book and I love it!
