I love how the devs animated the interactions between the player character and the friend - waving and calling for each other to follow, holding hands etc. Also the playground scene is so hilarious - we are escaping across a ghost town filled with empty clothing that their owners seemingly vaporized in, and Manly's having the time of his life running around like _hey let's take turns to play on the swing_ lmao

I just gotta say it, props to the enviroment design team, this world is just mesmerizing, a creepy uncanny valley (but in a good way) where you are constantly just starring at the scenery and wondering "what the actual fuck happened here!?", but never giving too much information, just enough for your mind to fill in the blanks and still leaving room for interpretation.

One of the things I love about Manly is that he really makes himself the character he's playing as. For example: When the mc dies, he says their last words to friend. And I really like that, its cute and it makes the game experience better.
I skipped to the part with the teacher because it’s high key the most memorable part of the game (and that is a high bar) and Manly got killed by the bookshelf. First time I’ve seen that death.

It feels like the original protag lost their memories oo; When they put on the yellow coat, they kinda give themselves a once over almost as if remembering or feeling familiarity with the coat. My guess is, as the journey continues, they'll remember more or do more things that invoke memories from little nightmares one. The devouring the clay kid was one moment where I felt like they lingered over the body a little, long after they were successful in officially killing it. Which made me feel like they were remembering their first time devouring someone from little nightmares one, when the protag would get so hungry and need to feast on meat/rats on the ship.
Thank you, I thought it was just me being too distrustful. Glad someone else noticed the suspiciously too long pause after og!protag killed the porcelain kid.
I also noticed the ominous pause, I assumed this is a prequel to LN 1 cuz this is where they get their raincoat

@@titel9870 Isn't that just another character that's not Six? I remember reading the wiki page. It's another girl's raincoat which Six found. If im not mistaken, (chronologically) the storyline goes from Very Little Nightmares, Little Nightmares II and then Little Nightmares. The character in Very Little Nightmares has no connection to Six, other than Six wearing their raincoat.

Hey Manly the lore to the Hunter is he kills whoever enters his part of the woods and stuffs them as a sort of sport. The people at the table are stuffed corpses after trying to escape as well as the one in the attic and all those bodies are rotting.

9:25 is one of the top reasons why Manly is one of my favorite let's players. He goes "let's look at the horror" and spends a few seconds taking in the atmosphere and details the devs put into the game. It just really goes a long way to slow down and actually observe what's going on.

I had my doubts about this game being as good as the original cause usually sequels to games that good never measure up but this seems promising, i love the fact they added a little combat this time, hopefully they'll provide a little more information on what exactly is going on in this world, what these mutant hybrid people are, and how they got that way, even the protags you play as are obviously not normal children so what are they? Hoping they'll finally explain these things, the lore of this game really draws you in.

My guess would be that this is a prequel to the first game, explaining how Six ended up in The Maw. "Little Nightmares II" may even refer to the fact that there are two protagonists, not that it's supposed to be a sequel.

Six starts to get her hunger pains in the secret ending just before she (supposedly) escapes the city.
as for very little nightmares, its possible that the person at the end of the game who gets the raincoat isnt six, but rather just a person who owned the raincoat before six.
all thats for sure is that the raincoat girl in little nightmares 2 is pretty much confirmed six. But very little nightmares is only left up to theories.
@@whiskurr9987 Wasn't how Six got onto the Maw explained in Very Little Nightmares? I think the person with the raincoat in that game is supposed to be Six. Besides, it would be kinda weird for them to mislead us by giving a defining piece of clothing of an existing character to somebody else.
6:45 i felt that, death animations are one of my favorite things in indie games, for example: Inside by Playdead has animations with little details that are actually pretty nice and a kinda realistic reaction

I don't think they have those powers anymore, due to the fact that they seem to be temporary, especially since they only got their strength each time from eating something only for them to grow hungry and weak after a period of time

Six first got her raincoat (which originally belonged to a different girl) in the prequel game "Very Little Nightmares". At some point between 1 and 2, she lost her raincoat and, according to the official site: she's become weakened and threatened by some sort of television signal waves.

This could actually be used to speed run the game.
Normally you have to hide and wait for her to leave, but due to Manly triggering her and dodge her line of sight, she ended up leaving quicker than normal.

Right from the beginning, you want this little person to succeed - first with his Davy Crockett hat & then in the Sou'Wester one. As creepy as the original, I'm happy to see more of the weird characters & story.
