- driver's view and inside view. In this video you feel like a passenger and a driver!

This VAL system was the first fully automated driverless metro of any kind in Europe. The metro is made up of 2 lines that serve 60 stations, and runs over 45 kilometres (28 mi) of route.

Hello! There is another VAL in Rennes in Brittany (France) . It's the smallest city which has this metro system. I love watching your videos, they make me travel through the world. Thank you for sharing. Keep it up! Best regards
Super video. I was here a few weeks ago. Great Metro to ride. It feels like an attaction in an amusemant park.
the big sound at 30 km/h i love it
Nice video! I'm amazed at a metro line like this that only uses 2 cars (coaches). It seems like low ridership for such a big metro line, but I am glad the stations are built for future growth and can accommodate a 6 car train (I think). With these automated systems, it is also easy to increase the frequency if they have enough train-sets.
+Luke Starkenburg here are some reasons on why ridership appears to be low (from this video). I filmed this on a saturday (although throughout the day).
And interior shots I tended to film when there were less people as it is a small confined space and it can get awkward pretty quickly.
According to wikipedia its 271,000 daily ridership - thats not bad especially for a city that is barely 300,000

+timosha21 I'm not referring to your shots in the video, just the fact that they only run two car trains.
+Luke Starkenburg Oh i see. Well you are right to note about the long platforms. That was a smart investment.
When I film inside trains, I usually move to a less crowded car or wait until I'm near the end of the line where the train is more empty, same as you.
"Front view" would be more appropriate than "Driver view", because the train is "driverless" XD ! But great video !
+TheCreepy31 well you can draw some buttons on a sheet of paper and put it in front of the computer/phone and pretend to drive XD !
+timosha21 Yup XD
I have only been on one in Montreal a long time ago. they are quite. I think they are smoother.
Sound's GREAT !!! THE VAL208
VAL208 : THE RETURNS OF THE AG
how do they ensure the passenger comply with dwell times and closing train doors without at least a conductor?
Sensors will reopen the doors and stop the whole system if something is stuck.
How does train stop and start and know where to without driver?
It's automatic
I took the same VAL 208 on the A line in Toulouse. =D
The AG
There is no driver so how is there a driver view?
that is one of the tire trains isn't it?
+Igor Furlender Yes sir!
From your perspective, is the rubber tire trams smoother than the steel rails?... Cause I wonder why more doesn't go to rubber over metal.
to me when it makes a turn it is quieter but the actual ride I honestly prefer steel wheels - seems to jolt slight in some parts (at least the longer rubber tire metro trains such as those in montreal or paris).
