45 years ago maybe more, when I was nine years old, I made so many ideas especially with egg cardboard holder it was unbelievable creative arts, and today I see people still creating and using that cardboard for so many things, I just want to say thank you to bring that think a life again it makes me feel so good so creative, because I started when I was nine years old creating things ahead of my time... but the luck was not with me at the time, thank you for TH-cam Facebook and Internet computers to Bring the creativity of the people to life..
I'm so glad i watched this because as a photographer i always wondered how to get that effect of blurryness behind the subject, so I've wasted my time learning about aperture sizes, distance to subject, iso's, exposure times etc when all i had to do to save my life was colour in my £1000.00 prime lens with a crayon on the lens surface you shouldn't touch with you finger... go figure..
Like, why would anyone learn about distance and filters, when they can just waste a lot of money on expensive camera lenses and ruin them just for one shot instead.
You can not clean them. The anti-reflective coating (the stuff that gives that kind of bluish/purple tint) is micros thick and easily destroyed and can not be repaired (or applied) at home. I don't know if you can even send it back to the factory to be repaired. Touching ANYTHING to the lens will damage that coating. Don't use tissue, microfiber, water or anything especially not f_ing lipstick. There are better ways to get that "through glasses" effect - even doing it in post processing.
#1 ALWAYS have a Skylight 1A or UV filter on your camera to protect the lens. #2 Don't apply such things as Vaseline to your lens - apply such effects to inexpensive Skylight or UV filters. Keep them in their filter cases and reuse the affected filter as needed. #3 Buy a handful of inexpensive Skylight or UV filters for a variety of uses, including protecting actual coated lens surface, and applying various effects, such as Vaseline, taped bokeh shapes, oil drops, marker doodlings, etc.. #4 Skylight and UV filters are your best friend for quality camera optics protection, and a SLIGHT warming effect. 1A is less pink than 1B, and UV removes glare (a good thing) and can enrich the image with improved contrast, especially where glass and/or reflections are involved. If you're using a camera that doesn't accept filters - just have fun and quit worrying about it all! :)

I enjoy life hacks, however placing cardboard egg cartons onto walls and ceilings is a fire hazard. A building / fire inspector would have an issue with it. An overheated phone charger, spark from a wall-plug or whatever and flames have the potential to spread quickly.

If it was good enough for Hollywood studios in the 20s to 60s it's good enough for you! It's not lipstick. It's chapstick. Chapstick is made from vaseline only solidified and melts on contact with friction or heat. It creates a gauzy film which is fine to rub carefully on a lens providing you clean it off carefully after. Photoshop and lens filters are great but this is showing you an old method to use instead of modern technology, which shows a bit of ingenuity.
Let me just remind those who think the camera hacks were a good idea...the lenses on a camera is the most expensive part of the camera. Forget about the screen and buttons and all that, your destroying a $5000 camera putting chapstick on the lense.

Isabel B I agree phones have better filters, all I'm saying is that the camera would have better...everyrhing. colors, sharpness, and over all quality. It's more a "hack" for "professional-minded" people but no real camera user would do this. I'd just do it in Photoshop.
I recommend anyone who's thinking about testing the thumbnail's _“paperclip phone charger theory”_ to avoid doing so. At first attempt nothing happens but once aligned accurately the socket outlet exerts an unfiltered voltage which is fatal if making accidentle contact but fortunately I was only temporarily but painfully demobilized. Also it short circuits the fusebox cutting power to the house, the fried fuse has been replaced with a charged one power is on now. Oh and phone battery went up 1% though.😐

If it was good enough for Hollywood studios in the 20s to 60s it's good enough for you! It's not lipstick. It's chapstick. Chapstick is made from vaseline only solidified and melts on contact with friction or heat. It creates a gauzy film which is fine to rub carefully on a lens providing you clean it off carefully after. Photoshop and lens filters are great but this is showing you an old method to use instead of modern technology, which shows a bit of ingenuity.
Let me just remind those who think the camera hacks were a good idea...the lenses on a camera is the most expensive part of the camera. Forget about the screen and buttons and all that, your destroying a $5000 camera putting chapstick on the lense.

Isabel B I agree phones have better filters, all I'm saying is that the camera would have better...everyrhing. colors, sharpness, and over all quality. It's more a "hack" for "professional-minded" people but no real camera user would do this. I'd just do it in Photoshop.

I recommend anyone who's thinking about testing the thumbnail's _“paperclip phone charger theory”_ to avoid doing so. At first attempt nothing happens but once aligned accurately the socket outlet exerts an unfiltered voltage which is fatal if making accidentle contact but fortunately I was only temporarily but painfully demobilized. Also it short circuits the fusebox cutting power to the house, the fried fuse has been replaced with a charged one power is on now. Oh and phone battery went up 1% though.😐
