In our experience, best to remove the 'juice' part. Tested and proven much better when you don't.
How many weeks bago kainin?
Let it stand for four hours at the minimum, and it is ready for consumption.
Don't need to cook the sayote?
No need. Good one is to just blanche it. That will be okay for the purpose.
