- This arrival walk video will give you an idea just in time for your first visit to Munich or Bavaria for Oktoberfest. I arrived at Franz Josef Strauß Airport.
MUC is the IATA code and Flughafen München Franz Josef Strauß in German. It is the primary international airport serving Munich. It is the second busiest airport in Germany and one of the busiest in Europe, serving as Lufthansa's second base and a Star Alliance hub.

I’m going here in June with my aunt, grandmother, and cousin. Its been a dream of mine to go to Europe since I was young. We’re making Munich like our home base, and we’re also going to explore Austria and Switzerland. Can’t wait!
Wow that is a nice plan, Austria is very near from Munich as well as Switzerland. Enjoy your summer vacation in Bavaria, the Alps and the people are nice, good food, enjoy the cheese and the breathtaking view. You will definitely love it. Take care and enjoy every minute of it.

I’m gonna be here in 2 days , really excited. Awesome video. Flying from Atlanta USA to Munich
Oh that is good. you will love Bavaria or Bayern, the food, the sightseeings, interesting people and culture. Enjoy your Holiday. My next video is my walking video from the main train station to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt.
If someone takes Lufthansa Airline from Portharcourt Nigeria to Munich is there anything like connecting fight, or it will take you to Munich direct..
If a perosn wants to use Lufthansa, it will be from Abuja to Frankfut.
There are many other airlines going to Munich from Lagos
Hello. first of all thank you for the video. I want to ask a question. we will go from turkey to toronto by munich airport transfer. The plane will land at Munich Terminal 1, and we will transfer to Toronto from the second terminal. Will we be able to pass directly to the 2nd terminal without passport control? Is there a transit pass between the terminals? and are the two terminals close to each other? Can we go on foot? Thank you in advance.
Hello, thank you for query, to change between Terminals 1 and 2 you can use the free shuttle bus. The signage to your connecting gate will guide you to the shuttle bus.
Arriving from and connecting to an airport outside the Schengen area: Usually no passport control is required, if you don‘t leave the gate area.
Usually transit passenger do not require to go through passport control especially when you have less connecting time but yes to security check. Let me know if you need more clarification.
@@Bachling1 thank you very much. Our first overseas trip experience. We are a little worried about him. We arranged a transfer from Munich airport for 6 and a half hours.
@@leyla122 it is also recommended to check with your airline. Have a safe trip and enjoy your vacation.
Departures & Arrivals are on the same level? Also, did your QATAR flight land in Munich Airport T1C? And are Tour Coaches parked just outside T1, Munich Airport? Thank You in advance for making time to answer all my questions.🙏🏻
Thank you for your question, the arrival is on the ground level or level 4. I had to use an escalator to get to the departure area. Please be noted that Schengen check-in and Departures are located on Level 04. Non-Schengen check-in and Departures are on Level 05. Yes that is correct, tour coaches parked just outside T1 on ground level or street level which corresponds to level 4.
@@Bachling1 Thank You so much for making time to respond to my questions. It is gratefully appreciated.
@@kismet2354 anytime. I am always happy to help. Have a safe flight.

Hi! Does it need a long time when you claim baggage at terminal 1? Thank you!
@@AnnisaAnindya-x7p no not at all, i just waited only 10 minutes for this flight. The waiting time varies from flight and number of passenger arrival.
Hey I was wondering if you got any idea how far is gate G20 to H3 in terminal 2? I will travel with a little toddler (alone!) means lots of stuffs in hands, stroller, baby food, baby diapers, toys, the baby itself, etc etc. We will only have about 60 minutes transfer. Do you think it’s manageable? Any idea if I could book a kind of airport service or so?
It is not a long walk from the elevator, G20 is on level 4 middle section while H3 is on level 5 Pier North. You need to take the elevator one level up and walk around 5 to 7 minutes from the elevator on level 5 to Pier North where H3 is located.
I understand that you have a toddler with you. 60 Minute transfer is manageable. The only disadvantage is your connection gate is on another level but you could use the elevator. Keep safe always.
If i fly from the usa and land here with a layover to board a flight to my destination, do i go through immigration here or at the final sirport? 😅 i fly tomorrow. Im terrified.
If you are coming to Munich as transit passenger and going to another Schengen State then you will do your immigration here.
If Munich is just your transit airport with your connecting flight to another country, not Schengen State or not European Country then you do not need to go through immigration.
I hope I was able to give you the needed answer. You can ask more if it needs more clarification. I am here to help. Have a great day ahead and have a safe flight.
Is 50 min is enough for transit for connecting flight. Lufthansa flight. Via munchi to hithrow
That is enough especially if you have the same connecting airline and terminal. You will not go through immigration.
Arriving at Munich Terminal 1 is so easy. Terminal 2 is just horrible stressful and complicated. Why couldn’t they have made Terminal 2 as easy as Terminal 1?
I agree with you.
You got it backwards, terminal 2 is way nicer and newer. Terminal 1 is run down which makes sense as it serves every other airline besides Lufthansa. Terminal 2 is just Lufthansa
@@thefitnesslife4988No, you got it wrong. The benefits of T1 are speed and convenience. At T2 the walking distances you have to cover are outrageous even for those with no physical problems especially if your plane leaves from the satellite. It’s full of high end shops that no traveler needs and the catering is inadequate. There is no structure to the organisation. Incoming and outgoing passengers are all mixed up together and the routes to baggage and exits are easy to overlook if the it is crowded. It also a further walk back to T1 to pick up a train into Munich. They have purposefully invested more in T2 to benefit Lufthansa, the national carrier, as it is exclusively using this terminal for itself and its partner airlines. If I were to design an airport for efficiency it be like T1. Who needs a high gloss terminal that doesn’t do its job? It’s about travel not glossy interiors. I have lived in Munich over 30 years and when I travel I try to avoid any airlines flying from T2.

If I came from Romania and I have not passport Schengen can I go out from the get without checking my passport
Based on question, if you are Romanian and arriving in Munich, you need to present an identity card or passport at least. Hope I was able to answer your question.
