Damn I guess many people don't get that in 80's and 90's because of licensing norms Japanese brands started manufacturing inline 4 250-400cc Race Replica bikes that's what RR stands for in bikes nowadays, these 400cc beasts were exact copies of litre bikes like fireblade and other flagships, at that time bikes like ZXR400 and many other honda 400cc inline 4 came with best equipment there is to be offered in bikes. Basically these bikes were Superbikes but in small "cc" forms. Because of technological advancements modern features have become expensive and providing them on a smaller bike is still expensive. Remember those old 400cc bikes were often more expensive than most 600cc inlines even in 80's & 90's. That's why it's called 'ZX' 4R not just Ninja 4R or something. The ZX name is only given to it's supersports and hypersports bikes. People also forget it also has almost identical suspension as CBR 650R and Ride by wire (Z900 doesn't has ride by wire) Same brakes (calipers) as Ninja 1000 and if we had gotten the RR the same rear suspension as ZX10R (Now ZX4 RR is also available). It's almost funny seeing people think that Kawasaki made it for sales lmao, they are the only company keeping the legacy alive and it will be an honour as a motorcyclist to own this machine. 80's ZXR400 used to produce 50-60 bhp, this thing produces almost 80 hp, and goes 0-100 in 4.2 seconds (No car under 1 CR can beat that) In essence it is a superbike or a mini ZX10R (for real this time, unlike how everybody uses mini word for everything)

Truly amazing bike. There is no compatitor for an inline 4 with jusy 400cc. Reminds me of the old 80s small capacity inline 4 bikes whoch used to rev upto 20k rpm. Just beautiful and pure chaos this bike is

Even better and perfect for riding on our public roads is the zx25r. Inline 4 in just 250cc, tiny and high revving engine just like the 90s japanese street racers you mentioned. You can hit 18k rpm pulling out of traffic! XD

4inline is dying, Kawasaki made a good job coming up with this bike but the price proved it will be only for tracks. That much power cant really be fully used everytime so Ninja 400 or new 500 can do the job. By the price zx6r is more appealing.
Even if this bike was at 7.5 lakh on road it could be the blaster in the market🔥

6:37 now zx4rr has unidirectional QuickShifter. Both clutchless upshift and downshift.
Even new 2024 zx6r doens't have unidirectional QS( it has only bidirectional QS that means only clutchless upshifts, no clutchless downshift)

So everyone who are comparing it's price with other bikes, no it doesn't work like that. 🤷🏻 What I feel is that kawasaki made this pure high revving chaos for track where riders have to push the bike to beyond 10000 rpm to stay in power band of this bike and by doing this bike helps to get a feel of litre class bikes. This particular machine is made for beginners riders who wants to be on track and start their racing career. Such small cc motors with this much complex designs are not truely meant for streets. These bikes are pure track oriented bikes which provides powerband on higher revs. You can check old school GP bikes for example, why these bikes were made in Japan as on that point of time young riders were not allowed to have big bikes so companies who wanted to promote the racing they made such compact high revving machines, can say that these are just to get a sense how to manage high revving litre class machines, so they start from this low cc high revving machine to develop skills.
