Hey everyone! I ran this game at AGDQ this year and thought I'd offer to answer any additional questions you may still have about this run. There was a lot to cover and I didn't want to get too technical to avoid confusing anyone and to avoid rambling, but if you'd like more specific details I certainly can here! I'll do my best to get back to people as soon as possible :)
TrevPerson What do you mean by RNG "seeds"? What is a seed?Sorry. Super new to this.
How did you figure out exact seeds down to the second especially since they are different for each ds?
Good run mate. Not big into the pokemeta stuff, but you kept it engaging even when you got into the mechanical details.

Was playing White 2 casually a few weeks ago and ran into a shiny zubat in the sewers. Hugh killed it on the first turn lol

If there’s ever another case where AI trainers accompany you in wild Double Battles, I hope they’re programmed to spam status moves if a Shiny appears.

Most Excadril in competitive gen 5 used sand rush over sand force, gen 6 and 7 use mold breaker instead because of the weather nerf

Complete silence for Colress's theme, as promised. This is my favorite moment in the run.
And yes, I am confirming that Colress's battle theme is among the greatest in all of Pokemon. I would listen to it for hours back in 2012. It has no right to be that good.
Yeah, Colress' theme is easily one of the best in the series. The only songs that beat it for me are the Galactic Grunt, Galactic Admin, and XD Miror B. themes

Battlefront Studios N's theme is one of the reasons I said 'among the greatest' rather than outright giving Colress's theme the top spot. Of course, there's also Cynthia's theme, BW Kanto Champion remix, and Cyrus's theme vying for those spots, so what we're really looking at is about 5 or so close contenders.
I can really go on about Pokemon music. I've been enamored with it since childhood.

Unless u do any % in DP, which is almost too fast imo. I mean, Platinum any % is around 2h50 which is shorter than this game.

Pokemon Black/White Version 2: My favourite Pokemon game in the series, I got it back in 2013 and I finished it in 2017. I got back into Pokemon that year and I'm still into the series.
It's good to see people are still viewing this game after all these years.
Woah! I didn't expect to have that many likes on a comment! It seems that I'm not the only one who loves this game.
I fell off of Pokemon around gen 5 and 6, started BW2 and XY but never beat them. Last year I finally beat White 2 and was really impressed by the quality of life changes and post game. In the process of 100% it for pokemon nostalgia's sake. Definitely in my top 2 gens along with 4.
I'm guessing some people dont like Iris champion theme because it doesnt sound like their gonna die. Iris just likes to have fun with pokemon battles and I think its conveyed very well in this theme

Iris' theme makes me think of something you'd expect from a magical girl.

This was a very entertaining and informative run! I really love this game, and it's awesome to see it get broken like this. As usual, GDQ has some of the most entertaining content on TH-cam. Thanks for the awesome video!

Black and White 2 are my favourite Pokemon games and it was so fun watching it Speedrun!
thanks to this speedrun i finished my old copy of bw2 in one day! i really just wanted to do it so i could complete my national dex easier but i ended up having more fun playing the game this way than the way it was intended! me and my new excadrill buddy (Spade!) will forever be grateful to AGDQ for giving us entertainment with a great cause
That first riolu is a 5% chance.
White 2 was my first game. I bought it after seeing both the Zoroark movie and the Lucario movie+tv arc. Riolu was one of my very first encounters in floccesy ranch. Never looked back, Lucario is now my Lv. 100 go-to lead Pokémon.

But anyway I find it ironic that so many people talk crap about those Pokemon designs when Voltorb exists. He's worse looking and there have been inaminate object Pokemon from the beginning. Klefki is my fav out of those 3, even.
At best, one could argue that this type of Pokemon design from inanimate objects is a mainstay feature of the Pokemon series. I would prefer if none of the games had inanimate or joke Pokemon, but I suppose we have to take the good with the bad, not everything will satisfy everyone.
They say so because actually its true. Only Red/Blue and Gold/Silver are playable. Screw the rest. Nostalgia wins.
Edit: Just look at 1st & 2nd generation Pokemon designs and compare them to new Pokemon designs. They ran out of ideas and do stupid Pokemons like Garbagepokemon or Icecreampokemon nowadays. Like serious?

Soon as I see shenanigans on the couch I know this is worth watching.
Never played these generations I'm mostly a Gen 1 and 2 boy, I was still in preschool. But when I heard Trev person and Shenanigans I was like, yosh! Trevperson explains everything about whats going on, even the story elements, it's a great listen. All it was missing was Gunner.

Yes, because it's not like that feature is something completely optional except for the few minutes that the game introces the NEW thing they added and want the player to know how said thing works.
Lucas Ferro it’s a bad introduction if it completely stops the pacing of the game for 10 minutes, especially at the beginning.
This was probably my favorite of the optional features, though. It was a neat minigame with a lot of comedic scenes and multiple endings. The photo thing in Gen 7 got stale really quick.

@Edd Harr I mean I don’t think I’d ask for it back if it was what we got in SwSh. It’s just the only way to have a random encounter in those games.
Shaking is cool in Gen. V because every grass patch has randomness, but also any grass patch, cave floor tile, and water surface tile in Gen. V can potentially become a special encounter that’s one of a handful of possible shaking/dust/bubble spot -exclusive ‘mons. Even if it’s Audino, who’s a meme, Audino intentionally gives LOADS of EXP, so they’re still gifts of their own.
I just didn’t care for it in SwSh because it’s the only random alternative to otherwise seeing every encounter on the overworld and knowing what you’re getting. Which I’m sure some people like, but I’ll probably only be happy to have it when they can execute it in a cooler manner.
I dunno, I found it kind of annoying to run into those encounters even when I was using Repels. _Especially_ when they pop up right in front of you and you run straight into them with no time to react.

I really like Black and White 2 however I feel that the starters are a little lackluster I remember ditching the starter in the PC and making Growlithe or Riolu my starter

Hey Trev, when I max out on Max Repels at Driftveil I'm getting somewhere in the high 20's, and if I'm constantly replenishing them every time they run out, I run out somewhere around inside Marlon's gym. Could be I messed up the movement on one of my practice save states, but if not I'm wondering if there is a point where you have to purchase more repels. Thanks!

Gen 5 is my fav generation~! Not the best Pokemon roster, but the story, map, and gyms in B&W/B2&W2 were the best!

Trev does say at some point that this game is not a sequel, but then moments later he says it is. Minor slip up, but it's there.
Aside from that, this was a very solid run. It went well, it was very informative, and it was of my favourite game too. Black 2 and White 2 are my favourite games in the series and some of my favourite games of all time.
One highlight was how he kept quiet during Colress's fight, and so did everyone else, just so we can hear that sweet music.

Tepig is underrated, it's really a great starter that people just don't really understand. Yeah, I know why people don't like it, but it still has advantages people just dont really like to utilize, and it's kinda upsetting how hated our cute little fire piggy is

I keep comming to the 4th and 5th gen and I can´t help it but ask. I´m not the only one who prefer the sprites (and 2.5d Octopath like animation) over the 3d models, right?
I dislike the new models and how they changed the cries. I can tolerate em but they changed the awesome pixellated style and that makes me sad.

@@rennycepeda6576 I agree that the 3D models look great, the Let's go and Pokken series make sure we realize that. However, the sprites have a certain charm I just can't find in the polygons. What I try to say is something like comparing New super Mario vs Mario world, the later has some undying charm, even though the New is awesome for its own merit.
