  • Looking for affordable hotel accommodation in Bangkok with parking?
    When you’re looking at comfortable and affordable hotel options in Bangkok, the options are pretty much endless. But trying to find an affordable hotel with parking, well that’s a whole different ball game.
    The Citrus 13 Hotel is situated in a very convenient location on Soi 13, less than 10 minutes walk from BTS Nana and only 15 minutes walk to Terminal 21. It’s a 4 star hotel, has a pool and generally offers free breakfast with your booking.
    A great place to stay for a couple or solo traveller, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for a family.
    We hope that you enjoyed watching this video.

    Why u cut interview short with this nice couple? You gave so much time with couple from Utah, boring, egotistical Thai-China woman! FYI stay on soi 8, it’s like country in city, great to walk, dead ends. For cheap hotel try Promenade. I’ first came to Siam 30 yrs ago, live on Suk soi 6. Maybe we can lunch someday. You guys are great couple mak mak! K. Greg

      Hey Bernard
      Yes, Mark and Jovey are great.
      The video of dinner was a little short as Jovey wasn't feeling well and I decided to stop filming. Nothing serious, just some bug that she'd picked up.
      Have a great day.

    Hi Brad, I was there back in September this year, stayed at the Salil Hotel on Soi 11 and got my laundry done at a shop located at the end of Soi 13.Even back then the road was all torn up and filled with water, not sure what is happening there. It is a bit of a disappointment (the state of the road) as their are some nice hotels/places to stay on that street.

      Most of the time we use a lavalier microphone and our system only allows us to us one of those at a time, but I agree, there are certain situations where we should be just holding the microphone between us. I can't guarantee that we're always going to be perfect, however we will try and be better.

    ...this is lacking, this is too noisy, this is not very good, this is a shortcoming, no selection, lousy coffee(?), no bacon, disappointing pastries, no Muzak, this/that is disappointing, no view, ...soooooo many complaints......but everything is OK. And why would a family stay in a room with a single bed? Its a hotel room - where clean, safe and inexpensive are the primary concerns as one normally finds other things to do during the day. I normally quite enjoy your videos, but this was a bit pejorative. A simple presentation of the layout, amenities and price would have been quite sufficient.

    Hi Brad, do the hotel staff expect tips from you? In particular the porter who took your bags up (if yes, what would you tip someone in that scenario in a Bangkok hotel?). I know you can tip (or not tip) in any part of the world but I was just curious if they "expect" tips in those situations. Even restaurants in Thailand?

    • @OurLifeThai
      @OurLifeThai  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'Day
      Tipping is generally optional, porters certainly don't wait expecting to get a tip.
      It's up to the individual, a normal tip would be either 20 or 50 baht. Of course, if you have more, tip more. Up to you.
      At this hotel, we would tip the porter and the guy who took care of our car.
      Thais usually don't tip at restaurants, unless alcohol is involved, then they would probably just round it up to the nearest 100.
      You get an increased level of service when you're drinking at a "Thai restaurant" because the server will always go around the table and make sure that no one has an empty glass. It's like you have a glass that just won't empty.
      Of course they only do that to ensure that you drink more and therefore buy more. But Thais love that. And you wonder why drink driving is a problem in Thailand!!!
      Thanks for your questions.

      @humbleman7750 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brad, thanks for your detailed and informed reply (will come in handy when I eventually travel to Thailand). The more I see you with your wife, the more I realise how lucky (equally) both of you are to have each other in your lives. Keep the videos coming.

      The breakfast only just got a tick from me solely based on the fact that I love Massaman Chicken, but many people wouldn't eat a curry for breakfast.
