I probably couldn't afford to buy a rolly in my lifetime nor would I want one, but I enjoy watching your videos because you are a professional craftsman and you do your job well. More power to you.
Great video as always. You’re the definition of experience, knowledge and transparency! Can’t wait to purchase something vintage from you in the near future.
Noice vid. Happy you listening to your followers. Educational vids like this is the way forward. Thumbs up and good job Peter-ski. Yeahi called you with -ski at the end. Polish follower here!
Hi Pete, how are you? I think you are so in-depth cause you give a f**k, all the rest are just interested in margin!! Could be selling pens pencils or watches they don’t care
PP - educational video. -on this piece the bracelet looked good , but is there a way to ''tighten'' the bracelet , to take away the stretch ? - thank you PP. . be safe. ~. JDS/CT
People cut up the paper because we live in a different world than we did in Nov 85 (as the paper says). Personal information is more valuable (and potentially more dangerous) than it was back then.
Anything to do with Data Protection Laws ? because in Europe you might land into trouble holding onto people's personal information without their consent or a good enough reason to keep that data. Keeping personal information to gain more value on a watch with papers wouldn't cut it here within the UK.
Yea it’s not that serious haha, it’s like selling a car your names on the title so someone will briefly have your info regardless. If it was against any laws I’m sure Rolex would’ve gotten in trouble.
Peter, I would assume that you would send this watch to polish if the customer wanted... However when inspecting do you clean up the crud and grime when you take the back case off?? What I mean is what is around the outer, and inner ring before the seal of the back case?
Hey Peter - genuine question. Why are you concerned with whether the watch has been polished in the past if you're going to polish it anyway? Is it more that someone may have done a bodged job?
Exactly, I would say at least 90+% of dealers out here have no idea how a watch is supposed to look.. and that’s a fact they just give it to someone who polishes it in a day and makes it shiny, ultimately losing case shape, chamfers etc
Hey Peter. Love your videos. Are you currently taking on any employees? I’m very interested in watches, and would love to work with you and bring some value to your company!
No offense, this is because you don’t know what you’re looking at / for. Superficial scratches can be cleaned up quickly, there’s no large dings dents etc so it will clean up to like new condition without messing with the original construct of the watch. This comes with experience😂
Sorry I’m already getting Pissed off and I’m only 3 minutes in to the video.. I’m sick to death of Deals (Not necessarily you) saying papers are not that important as long as the watch in 100% real. When they are selling it TOO YOU.. But a when you are trying to sell one to them without papers its like sorry I can’t gone you as much for the Watch because it’s not got any papers. 😡
If someone came to me with half papers I’d certainly offer less for the watch, I’m pretty sure I said that in the video. In this case these technically count as papers all of the information is there and not touched, however it being half the papers I took it upon myself to explain it does affect value.. in this case I’m basically selling this watch as if it was naked, I see people asking and selling these as watch only in horrible condition for 6k+ all day long, this is a stud watch when cleaned up papers are just a bonus. Take this into consideration I’m asking 5.2k with box and papers If this watch came to me naked what would I have to pay in order to compete with my own pricing? 2-300$ difference wouldn’t make much sense so yes a naked watch to me is less appealing than a full set but doesn’t mean it’s worthless
No coin flips or fabricated drama ... Just honest and informative information. Thanks, Peter! You’re the best!
No theatrics around this part! Appreciate you joe thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it

VERY TRUE! I think people nowadays are too used to information being everywhere, probably why Rolex now doesn’t put info on warranty cards.

The watch looks beat to hell; I know you said its awesome; but it looks like you got parts of the old owner still inside it lmao
