It's not about just training, it's the running they make during the game, number of sprints our back line is making. SPRINTS (read highline) is the main reason why we have those constant injuries on our entire defensive line year after year

I was extremely critical of Ange even well before the end of 2023. I never trust any manager who says "running is pointless"; and neither should any sport physiologist. In regards to the context, Ange was talking about aerobic running during training. Aerobic training is the primary method relied on to improve VO2 max, which is the oxygen uptake (utilisation) capacity. Unless VO2 max is sufficiently improved, oxygen debt occurs at a lower threshold than it would otherwise. In the presence of oxygen debt, lactic acid is produced, because lactic acid is a result of an anaerobic process. With more production of lactic acid, more soreness occurs. And consequently, there will be more injuries than otherwise. There is a reason why endurance athletes across the board only devote about 30 percent of all training volume to "match intensity" training. But in Ange's system, a far higher percentage of this is taking place. This results in reduction of endurance & biomechanical efficiency on the one hand; and increased soreness and injury rate on the other. Simpletons such as Ange think aerobic training is "non-specific" junk training of no value or purpose. But actually, specificity in training is only a single principle among many training principles and the principle (called Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands (or "SAID Principle") doesn't state that ALL training must be specific to demands of the sport; but rather emphasises that at least much of the training must be specific. Get some new signings in & make a push either back-up-the-table or towards a final in the 3 cups were within a shot of. Easier said then done, but if i beleive in any team overcoming disadvantage, its this one rn. Next season, we'll have our injured players fit and a crazy good amount of young talent to fill out the bench for cups/europe that he'll (hall) likely stay in the u21's to dominate for a year (like Lanks + Devine did). This suggests poor squad management by Postecoglou, especially considering the team's participation in four competitions and the physically demanding nature of his tactical system.

We should be going after some of the players whose contracts expire in the summer on lower fees like Jonathan Tah, Jonathan David, Leroy Sané, Angel Gomes and Tyrick Mitchell. All of those can come straight in and should only be around £10-15m each. No doubt Levy would rather leave it until they're free agents, but by then we'll miss out!
I like Junya Ito, the sugar hit. Upgrade on either wing- not a 90 min player but has razzle dazzle !! Dylan Leonard is a future star in Australia. Mike Cooper at Shef United is a quality goal keeper. Tom Glover is homegrown spurs and looked brilliant for Middlesbrough last season in the fa cup. I also like riley Mgree there. Really interesting midfield creator and goal scorer. Has been cooking at that level long enough. Nathan Tella is a very good player. He'd be fantastic at spurs. I would take Rashford over Grealish. Grealish is a bit like Madders- not a perfect fit as a fwd or mid in this system in my o. Great players though. You wouldnt complain!! Tillman - i think too pricey. Not super convinced... All of those can come straight in and should only be around £10-15m each. No doubt Levy would rather leave it until they're free agents, but by then we'll miss out!

These hamstrings are down to the fitness trainer. Every video I see when there in the gym they’re doing a warm up. It’s all light weights and there’s no muscle building which will avoid injuries!
