Best Road Cycling In Japan's Countryside Beyond Tokyo and Kyoto | Backyard Loop | Rindo Ep 6

  • This week's Rindo Vlog I invite you to explore our backyard loop. At 40km and around 700m of climbing this is our go to loop when you only have 1-2hrs to ride. It gets right out there onto beautiful car free roads deep in the countryside for plenty of forest bathing by bike!
    Features on this ride include,
    -Views of Mt Asama
    -Beer Vending Machine?!
-Spring Cherry Blossoms & Other Flowers
-Forest roads that inspired the term, "forest bathing"
Though most people think of the dense urban landscapes of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka when they picture Japan few know that Japan is some 80% uninhabited wilderness. It is this vast wild mixed with amazing small roads that snake through the forests, hot springs, hidden shrines, and amazing eats that makes Japan one of the best places to ride a bike in the world. If you haven't already ridden a bike in Japan I highly recommend making sure your next trip to Japan includes a bit of cycling outside of the cities in the natural satoyama countryside.

Enjoyed this even though the only cycling I do is to the combini. How do you only have 56 subs?

    Nice~
When I was a JET in Sendai, I used to bike all over. I really got into recreational cycling a few years later. I look forward to touring in Japan some day.
