Habs means " Les Habitants" and they never changed their logo.
Can't be the Canadiens he said they played the Sharks in the playoffs...he also said that their logo made no sense. Even as a Bruins fan, I can admit the Habs logo looks good...and it certainly makes sense. Besides, he looked at the logo multiple times...if it were the Habs he would've figured it out pretty quickly...
On the other hand, the "Canuck" thing on the front of the Canucks jersey doesn't make sense. You'd think a "Canuck" was an animal by looking at it. They also *did* play the Sharks in the playoffs quite a few years...Vancouver makes the most sense.

I think I know what you're thinking, Jimmy and it's definitely Canucks. The orca on the logo is not a "Canuck." Canuck is a slang term for Canadian. The orca logo was chosen because the ownership group that bought the Canucks at the time was Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment. Hope this helps

Maybe the hockey team that Jomboy was thinking of is the Calgary Flames? Their team name is based off of the history of Atlanta, when General Sherman burned down the city in the Civil War. The hockey team that came to Atlanta in the 1970s was called the Flames because of this, but when they moved to Calgary there wasn't really a reason to keep it as the Flames, because Calgary obviously wasn't burned down during the Civil War. They ended up keeping it anyway, so their name is the only one in Canada that doesn't make any sense.
Hartford Whalers have a super similar colour scheme to the Canucks so I think that’s what he’s thinking. But if he’s thinking of a mostly dumb name, it’s probably The Habs.

Hartford Whalers
He is thinking of the Canadiens, a nickname for them is the "Habs", which is sort for Habitants which is French for inhabitants. They were first called this because there is an h on their logo which people falsely believe stood for habitants. But it actually stood for hockey as the full them name is "Le Club de Hockey Canadien" (The Canadian Hockey Club). Therefore the name "Habs" has no real meaning as it was never intended to be the team name.
