It does not help also when you have morons who buy these 'designer' dog breeds just to show off the dog on social media than dump them on the street when they get bored with the dog.
@marcy mixed breed dogs don't have specific traits. They don't have a standard. They vary. People paying 2500 for a doodle have no idea what their dog will be like. So, it makes no sense. Armzbrah is correct.
@@krittercandyexotics I beg to differ, there are Doodle breeders with programs that have dogs with specific colors, temperament, etc. Purebreds were mutts once upon a time but it can take years for a breed to have a standard and get recognized by a kennel club.
Some people say they want to be breeder but city doesn't give enough information I would agree and sadly puppies suffer consequences so is a little of everything and pet stores won't give information for competition some actually want to take it seriously and heard legit breeders that it started with a dog of theirs not being neuter by ignorance of not knowing as well the first litter sale for low prices and end up giveaway to family and friends then neuter the dog with more knowledge so later decided to be breeder I have asked questions to different stores and breeders and yes city really doesn't do the job right of give proper info and information of people actually doing their homework so is a mess .
@@hippiebits2071 Probably not many, because there's likely people who don't know they have to get a license. A decade ago, it wasn't a requirement, now it is.
And what good would it do? Just drive up the price of dogs and increase thefts plus it'd put dog breeds at risk of genetic bottlenecks. Too many breeds are already extinct, there's no need to increase the numbers.
Lol they don’t show up when they break into your home let alone to pick up more mouths to feed this man has too much time in his hands where is all his money coming from does he pay taxes? They need to audit this citizen let’s see his integrity since he’s such an outstanding candidate? Probably a predator?
And this problem will only worse if pet stores stop selling dogs. At least they're regulated. Just ask dog owners in California, they've been paying the price ever since most of the pet stores closed there. If people can't find local breeders or buy a dog out of state, unregulated sources is what they'll have left.
@Marcydalmatian There is a boatload of info available try Google. Current employees of any business are hardly an unbiased and reliable information obviously because saying anything negative could put their jobs could be at stake. It's foolish to spend thousands on a dog without knowing where it came from. That just common sense. If you work at a petstore why don't you Google some of the kennel names the dogs are sourced from. Anyone can look up the "The horrible 100 puppy mills" and in some cases what franchises stock puppies brokered from those kennels.
Man we need people like these in LA, the backyard breeding and shelter overpopulation is out of control, I see too many backyard bred dogs and I hope/wish there are laws to ban certain breeds from being bred like bulldogs and cavaliers, and doodles
Thank you Darcy Spears. This story needs to be shouted from the roof tops in Las Vegas. Craig's list is a plaque on our City for these poor animals.
Craigslist isn't just a problem here, people in California got dogs the same way and those turned out to be sick.
We have laws for breeder's license just for this purpose. Let's enforce them and make the charges stick with a heavy sentence the FIRST time!
It does not help also when you have morons who buy these 'designer' dog breeds just to show off the dog on social media than dump them on the street when they get bored with the dog.
That's not entirely true. Many people get designer mixes because they want dogs with specific traits that purebreds might not have.

Adopting most breeds of puppies from a legit breeder is cheaper than buying off a fake breeder. Let that sink in.
Here's another thing to consider, if an ad or website listing for puppies sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Uh, u have 2 have a rehoming fee.. what about those evil demons that kill animals slowly & painfully for kicks!

I never knew it was illegal to let a dog have puppies. Ya learn something every day.
It’s not illegal to let a dog have puppies , if it was spaying would be mandatory
LOL Spaying and neutering IS MANDATORY within the city limits of Las Vegas.
@@hippiebits2071 Unless the owners have a breeder license, they're exempt.
@@Marcydalmatian Right, and exactly how many of these people selling on CL do you think have bothered to do that?

Agreed
It sounds like he's just volunteering to do this.
Where is his money coming from?
Probably a job.

Pet stores are hardly effectively regulated.
@@hippiebits2071 Since when? Have you talked to any employees?
Animal control does inspect the stores in Vegas. Plus, they have a business license.

Smh wasting tax payers money
So when are you going to be a homeless buster to solve this decades old problem? People are not valuable?
Feed em to their animals. Then put them down.
