I have learned a lot about playing jazz from Emily. She was very harmonically advanced but in a catchy kind of way. Monty is a monster as well, keep jazz alive!
Wow ! What a great performance either the young guy as well as the bass player. It is a difficult song to play based on II -V I schedule ,everytime time half a tone in key up. Hard to find amateur musicians who understand the song and can perform it . Chapeau 👏👏👏👏
They played three songs in a row: "Joy Spring", "Love You Madly" and "Montevideo": th-cam.com/video/1dHtrui06yo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/IBJ8pNPadNQ/w-d-xo.html

Emily is just so easy to listen to
such a unique and distinct sound from Emily.
Always wondered if Emily and Monty performed/recorded together during their married years. This is great! RIP Emily.

That was the only time they saw each other...

Whaou ! Emily Remler an Monty Alexander gave us a really high level interpretation of that marvelous melody.
Love how Emily plays, her eyes closed, in deep concentration.

Did she have disease that ended her life super early? Okay congestive heart failure.
Unfortunately it was drug related.
@nevertoofast2 Yeah I was in school when she hit. The Jazz drug scene was still a thing in the 80s .
