  • I now have a newer video about this topic. Link below.👇
    • Are you using "used to...
Learn how to use USED TO, BE USED TO, and GET USED TO correctly in English.
This video has easy-to-understand explanations and simple examples for each.
Watch this video if you want to understand these examples:
I used to live in Thailand, but now I live in the US.
I didn't use to make teaching videos. I used to only teach in person.
But now I'm used to creating new English videos each week.
When I first moved to Thailand, I wasn't used to the hot weather.
It took me a while to get used to it.
I'm Teacher Mike, and I'm an English teacher from the United States. I have also worked as a communication quality manager in a five-star hotel and as a communication coach at a company that trains Japanese business professionals in the communication skills that they need to succeed on international teams.
I usually post 3-5 new videos each week, so if you're interested in improving your English, make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so that you see all of my new videos.

Too bad is used to smoke cigarettes. He smoked 20 cigarettes every day for 15 years, but now he never smokes cigarettes.
I used to work in a hotel for 2 years. I worked in a hotel from 7 am to 5 pm 5 days per week, but now I don´t work in a hotel anymore.
If you went to Brazil one time in the past, you can not use used to. You can not say I used to go to Brazil because used to means that you went there many times, you went there again and again and again.
David used to be fat. He was fat for about 7 years, but now he is not fat.
I used to be shy. When I was a child I was shy, but now I am not shy.
We drive on the right hand side of the road, I have a lot of experience driving on the righ hand side of the road. I don´t have much experience driving on the left hand side of the road because of this I am used to driving on the right hand side of the road, I have done it many times before.
How do you get used to driving on the left hand side of the road. You get used to it by doing it again and again and again.
When I first move to Thailand, I was not used to british accents, it was very difficult for me to understand what british people were saying to me. However, I worked with british people from many years and I listened to them every day so, overtime I got used to their accents.
If you move from a very hot country to a very cold country, at first you probably would not be used to the weather, you will probable feel very cold and very uncomfortable because you have more experience with hot weather, but if you stay in that country for a few months or a few years you will begin to get used to the weather. It will begin to feel more normal and more comfortable.
I start to get used to your method. I used to learn English from Spanish, now I try no translating anymore.
    Thank you, Teacher.
