  • The Dewalt Power Station is a great addition to power tools that are not able to be powered by batteries, as well as to charge 4 20v batteries simultaneously. I've been using this to power my shop trailer for several years now and it has worked fantastically. The Rolair JC10 Plus Ultra Quiet Compressor that we tested with in this video is 1 horsepower and is 120 volt

    I walked into a HD in Durham, NC a few years ago. They had 5 of these on clearance. I asked to speak to the manager. I offered to take them all if he would drop them a further certain percentage. He loaded them up and rolled them to the register.
    I've since purchased 8 of the 9ah flex volt (and sold off the 20v because my tools aren't DW). They've been amazing. Particularly great keeping freezers or fridges cold during hurricanes, working on boats, working on jobsites where there is no access to power.

      I’ve actually run my propane central HVAC off of mine during an ice storm outage. That was fantastic 😅
      I run well pumps at our farm during outages too, saves all the water hauling and things.

    Think it's important to note the instructions say it's ideal to take the batteries out completely before you plug in the electrical cord then put the batteries in. That's something to pay attention to.

    I use mine with the new 15 amps batteries and I can run an 85 amps welder with 1/116 rods, also I can run an 8000 btu window air conditioner for 1 hour , also I can run 2 fridges a freezer lights and a few fans for about 5 hours. Just some info to help out

      For the price of 4, 15ah battleries and the unit, you can buy a solar generator, double the watts hours, and can charge with solar, as Well it can be used, while charging. Actually, a solar generator comes in a fair bit cheaper.

    Even though I’m getting out of doing work on job sites I still want to build a killer work trailer one day and appreciate these ideas. I like the power station and the inverter in case you want to plug-in a laptop or something. Have you seen the Ron Paulk trailer?

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sure have. My trailer isn’t nearly as fancy as his and the current tour of it on my channel here is way back with just an iPhone unfortunately. I need to do another video. I pull a 7x21 v nose to my big remodels. Everything else I just run out of my decked system and back seat systainer setup

    I have a few Festool tools that will not work on my power station which was a let down, although it made me buy cordless versions of those tools. A couple of Festool sanders and the Festool corded tracksaw. It runs my tool trailer all day though, lights and compressor when needed.

    • @MillisConstruction

      It’s weird. Some do and some don’t... normal Dewalt tools seem to do fine 🤨

      @@MillisConstruction All my Dewalt tools left with cords are 100% perfect on it. Not many corded tools left for me anymore, but when I need the power station, it is always ready for the day. So nice to have a lighted trailer when the sun goes down and not needing to plug it in!!

    You got me thinking about cords... So I just went to the Home Depot website (Canada) and the cost of a miter saw + inverter + 1 battery is only 100$ more than the cordless miter saw + 1 battery. I had plans to go cordless and replace the corded but newish miter and table saws I already own, but now I might just get the inverter...

    When using 6ah batteries.... is there an advantage to the Flexvolt over the XR? The XR are cheaper to buy.

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on if you plan to add any flexvolt tools to your lineup. The XR ones won’t fit the dedicated flex volt tools whereas the flex will fit the XR tools

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For lighting and small items it would be ok. It’s only 15 amp so running anything over that wouldn’t work.
      I’ve run well pumps, water pumps, small air compressors, sanders, saws etc on it. Just have to check the specs on what you’re wanting to operate with it

  • @imout671

    Hey. Do you think that rolair would run a texture gun on small 100 sq ft jobs?

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d have to test that. It would run non stop I bet but it does have good output at 2.4 cfm at 90 psi. How much does your texture setup ask for?

    • @ThatKiltedGuyDIY
      @ThatKiltedGuyDIY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey on my Drywall channel I am often demonstrating spraying texture and have reviewed my air compressor and it’s a small California air that only puts out about 3.1 cfm at 40 psi and it keeps up just fine. If I’m spraying for an extended period of time and need maximum air for a really fine texture I may have to stop once in a while briefly to let it catch up but my arm appreciates that anyway, LOL

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  3 ปีที่แล้ว
