The CPU is the heart and brain of a computer.
This video gives a simple overview of the components of a CPU and their functions.
The CPU components are the memory unit, the ALU, the control unit.
The memory unit stores data and instructions required for processing.
The control unit acts as the supervisor. It receives instructions from RAM and sends appropriate signals to monitor the operations of other units of CPU.
The ALU performs various arithmetic and logical operations.
The CPU is placed as a chip on the motherboard.
The motherboard serves as a base for major components of a computer.
